Had the Chicken Wrap, on their regular menu was delicious but even better the side macaroni salad. Worth the drive, if weather permits, outside seating. Random find after just getting to town . Restaurant was busy, but once we were seated service was punctual and fast. We started with a salad and followed with an amazing Grilled Swordfish with Gnocchi- Grilled Center Cut Swordfish served over Roasted Gnocchi and topped with Baby Arugula, Roasted Tomatoes and Sweet Basil Pesto. The food was all good. The reasoning for 4 stars were the pricing of the drinks and the service. The drinks were small and hardly tasted like alcohol was even in them. The service was extremely slow. After hearing a lot of positive feedback about this place, three of us decided to give it a try on a Sunday afternoon. You'd never know the place was there since it is located way back in the woods by a marina. But, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they were only half full, so we got a table immediately. Service was a bit slow, but we were in no rush. All told we were there for two hours with drinks, one app to share and three mains. Our server was pleasant and professional (Colleen G) and made us feel like old timers. The view was limited, but it was fun to people watch the various boaters going in and out of the marina. For drinks we had White Sangria (very good, not too sweet), and the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade and Strawberry Lemongrass Lemonade (much sweeter), Kona Big Wave draft (fresh!), a glass of Mondavi Pinot Grigio (just average) and for dessert two Nesspresso Martinis (less creamy than expected, but tasty enough. Food included a plate of calamari (perfectly prepared), butter-crumb haddock (huge portion and again perfect, and the salmon with the BBQ berry sauce on the side (a good thing side the flavor would have overwhelmed the salmon with too much. We were looking for a relaxing dinner along the water and stumbled upon Barado's. While unassuming from the front, they have a gorgeous patio overlooking the water. Service was prompt and friendly. The menu had a good variety of fare that you'd expect from a water side restaurant. Everything we had was fantastic. The crab cakes were delicious with an amazing sauce. We had some fried shrimp that were perfectly battered (no photo). The Cobb salad was generous with perfectly cooked chicken (so many salads phone it in with overcooked, frozen chicken strips, but this was juicy and GREAT). Chicken tenders and fries were also perfectly fried and crave-able. We saw many other tasty items delivered to other tables, so we'll be sure to return to try them when they are in the area. The food at Barado's is absolutely delicious. We went on a Friday and were sat at the end of the patio closest to the water and it was gorgeous. There were 6 of us and we ordered apps, drinks, and entrees. Our server had an amazing personality but was gone with huge gaps in our service. We saw tables around us come and go - same size and smaller - and it was truly really frustrating. None of the other staff would even try to come and chat with us and we were sitting eager to catch someone's eye so we could close out and leave. All in all it's a Friday and they do get incredibly busy - but we were there at 5 trying to avoid this exact thing. Great place to go when you're not in a rush. read more

When college servers go back to school there is usually a wait for the table but they try their best to get you seated. It's a great place to hang out after boating around the lake. The place is next to the dock. We seated next to the water very nice area and that time the weater so nice. I didn't expect much of the food since we are not in the city, but boy I was wrong. The server was very nice and fast. We ordered pork burrito that was amazing with bean salad on the side. Bean salad was so good and fresh! I ordered fried hadock, the fish was fresh as I expected. Another dish that we ordered was fish taco also yummy and fresh, the sweet potato fries was so good there's the sweet and bit of saltiness. They had a line before they even opened. You do need your whole party to be seated, but you can give them your name while waiting. It was beautiful and sunny outside on the deck. Some tables have umbrellas, some do not, I was glad I wore my hat. Our server was very helpful and friendly and took our drink order at the same time as our food order since someone in our party had an appointment after lunch. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and ruby red shrimp. My friends ordered the crab cake sandwich. Do yourself a favor and get the sandwich, for almost the same price your crab cake on the sandwich will be twice the size of your appetizer. The sandwich also came with a side. My crab cakes were very tasty, but seemed to have a lot of filler and no really nice big chunks of crab. My shrimp was cooked very well, it came out nice and warm. I was kind of surprised that it was served in a paper container because all the rest of our food was on regular plates. The blueberry sangria special was very tasty, but seemed to have very little wine in it. It was enjoyable and service was very good, the food took a while to come out, but we could see how busy it was and everyone there was working very hard. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. We had a fantastic night out for my son's 21st Birthday. The Staff and Owner accommodated us even though the birthday boy was running very late from work. They still sat us and took care of us all night long. We were served with smiles and grace. They surprised my son with a Special Birthday Drink! It was just amazing all around. With this gorgeous day, we wanted to eat outside. I had heard a few things about Barado's on the Water so we decided to try it out. We asked for an outside table and it did not disappoint. It was so nice being out in the sunshine today. Our server was awesome. We told her it was our 1st time so she gave us the run down on what the favorites are and some details on some of the specials. We ordered the Red Rock Shrimp appetizer. These were seasoned peel and eat shrimp with a side of melted butter. They were huge shrimp but honestly we didn't think there was much flavor. My son ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque and the Lobster Roll with fries. He demolished it all and said it was fantastic. I managed to steal a small taste of the bisque and it was really good. My friend had the Chicken Caprese Wrap with potato salad. He said the wrap was great. Especially loved that it was grilled up a bit. He said the potato salad was ok but not the best. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich with fries. The crab cake itself was really good and the sauce that was on it was incredible! The lettuce and tomato that were on it were incredible fresh. I usually pick them off because they are soggy or wilted but they were great. The sandwich was a little difficult to eat. It was a soft roll and the crab cake itself is soft so it didnt stay together very well. Fries were crispy. While everything was good, nothing left me feeling like I needed to go back. But, I did order dessert to take home. Desserts are fresh made and they vary each week. I am a sucker for good Key Lime Pie so I decided to try theirs. Omg I'm glad I did. I will go back for the pie alone. The flavors of the lime were fresh and vibrant. The home made graham cracker crust had hints of cinnamon. It was delicious. Best Key Lime Pie I've had in CNY. I brought my mom a piece of the Carrot Cake. My mom is super fussy so it's definitely a risk. She was floored and said it was incredible. Cake and frosting both delicious and perfect ratio of both. Last week I tried this again for lunch. It was a Wednesday at noon (they open at noon) and they already had several parties waiting. The Receptionst looked new and a little flustered. We gave our name and was like 3rd on the list. A party of 6 came after us and remarked they were on their lunch hour which I said good luck because we already had been waiting 15 minutes and were not seated. A waitress came out to help the receptionist and she was very gruff and happened to know the party of 6. Next thing we know the party of 6 was seated before us and several other parties that were ahead of them. That really ticked me off. We said something and we're finally seated. I didn't understand the whole thing seeing the place was empty and just opened and had many empty tables. Our waitress was the same one we had last time we had lunch here and is very good. I ordered the same thing the crab cakes with a side of fresh fruit. The wait was longer than last time but it was busier than last time we were here. Once delivered the crab cakes were missing the sauce on all our lunches so they had to go back. Then it started to pour and we had to take our plates and run inside. One of my favorite places. Food is always consistent.l Love the staff and the owners. They are always most welcoming. This was a weekly stop and sometimes more just depending. It was so close to home when we lived in NY. Great in the summer with a place to dock your boat and outside seating. We were thrilled when they decided to stay open year round. The wood fire kept it warm and cozy. So many good meals! The homemade desserts are to die for. The carrot cake seemed to get all the attention, but we will never forget Mandy's blueberry lemon pie! I knew from the moment I sat down that the service would be poor! I was waiting for my husband so I got sat first. Not one person came to ask me if I wanted a drink or if I was waiting for someone. Finally, my husband gets to the table and our waitress was " visiting" with another table. She left us waiting well over 5 minutes!!! Finally she takes our order. She does not deliver our food , someone's else does... No problem. We were sitting by the door that she had to pass several times and not ONCE did she check on us! Not even in passing!!!! There were other patrons who were getting all kinds of attention. We later figured out that there were many regulars here. People who park their boat and came into the restaurant. Those were the people that got the attention. We waited an equally long time for our bill and then waited another 15 minutes for her to come and take the bill. This was our first time at BARBADOS with a party of four adults and this is one of the finest spots to dine at. For a Friday night our wait was minimal and our table on the outside deck was perfect. Drinks were wonderful and our meals were outstanding. Very had working waitresses who never stop for a minute, to all of the staff just working together helping each other out for the benefit of the patrons. I tried a soecial they had once which was their twist on Banh Mi (a vietnamese dish) and it was not good, but other than that the mezza platter is my go to.
