This is the bar area. There isn't a bad seat in this restaurant. . .

The food was fresh and prepared to perfection . The fall menu has so many incredible dishes return trips are required The hostess, our server and the bartender were professional. We had one of the best date night. Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere.

Grotto is everything and more to my taste buds. My wife and I go every year for our anniversary and we are always blown away with the consistent greatness of the flavors they put in front of us. From the complimentary bread and oil to whichever dessert you fancy, the only fall from perfection is usually into greatness with our experiences. This time around we had bread and oil, salad and crab cakes appetizers, pork and steak dinners, with brownie and carrot cake desserts. My super star line up would be the Crab cakes, Pork and Brownie, but seriously you can't go wrong. Not to mention the sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes also cooked perfectly. We always get a reservation as it's our anniversary, but it wasn't too busy on a Thursday evening. The service is always lovely, kind people with prompt service in a nice dining area. It's comfortable and quiet, very easy to chat with anyone next to you or across the table. Prices have remained fair given, well ya know, everything. There is an additional fee for credit card payments now, which I didn't see explicitly but also wasn't looking that closely. We will likely always be back at least once a year! And Now that you are on your way... Enjoy!

The Scarlet Vetter says.....I decided to have dinner here while on an out of town business trip. I really was craving some Italian food, so I scoped out possible picks on Yelp and came across this one. It looked nice, and I was very intrigued by the menu choices, so I drove to the restaurant, which was only 8 minutes from my Air B and B near the airport. I am very glad I did. I took a seat at the bar, which was small but cozy. The bartender, Patrick, confirmed that I could order food at the bar, and he gave me the wine list and the menu, and he was very attentive. I selected a nice Barolo, and he brought me a beautiful large wine glass. For an appetizer, I ordered the calamari steak, which was tender and delicious. The panko breading was not as crisp as I expected it would be, however. For my entree, I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. It was really great....just the right amount of heat and plenty of fresh seafood cooked perfectly. For dessert, I had an expresso and a slice of lemon cheesecake. The cheesecake was a rich, rich lemon flavor. Very enjoyable. I am here another night and may have to go back as the experience was very good!

Service is excellent and the outdoor seating area is amazing. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Syracuse. The only problem I have is the parking. I highly recommend the arancini balls and the Utica greens for appetizers. The pasta I tried this time just needed a little salt but otherwise the dish was excellent. If the weather is nice sitting outdoors is awesome. It doesn't fell at all like you are in downtown Syracuse. The price is a little high but totally worth it with the food being so good and the helpings you get. I don't usually get dessert but the cheesecake looked so good I had to try it and I wasn't disappointed at all. I was overly full afterwards but totally worth it. I highly recommend you give this place a try

A little advice, try to make reservations before 7 PM because the restaurant gets very crowded later in the evening. The complimentary focaccia bread was absolutely delicious : soft, fresh, and full of flavor. We shared the mozzarella triangles as an appetizer, which were excellent. For my entrée, I ordered the pecan-crusted salmon salad and it was amazing. My lady bug had the ravioli, and so did snore bug , both really enjoyed it. Our waiter was outstanding: bubbly, attentive, and made the whole dinner even more enjoyable. The ambiance was vibrant and lively, perfect for celebrating after graduation weekend. Another plus is that the restaurant offers complimentary parking with several parking lots available nearby. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and would definitely come back!

We went during the week so it was a quiet afternoon and we were seated immediately. We started off with a bottle of cab and their fried gnocchi and meatballs for appetizers. Wasn't able to get a picture of them as we dug in very quickly. They were both delicious and the marinara they use for sides is very flavorful and smooth. My boyfriend got the lasagna and I got the chicken cutlets with a side of pasta with their diavolina (spicy pink sauce). Both were fantastic and I loved the diavolina sauce, just the right amount spicy and very creamy. It went great with the chicken cutlets which were the perfect crisp. The owner actually came out to check on us throughout our dinner which was a nice surprise and was great to meet him. Love to see new restaurants on Westcott and look forward to trying other items on our next visit.

Then, For appetizers, the arancini, the polpette, the crab crostini, and the trapanese pizza. The Arancini were good, very cheesy. The trapanese pizza was phenomenal - thin, crispy, cheesy. For entrees, with whatever room we had left, we tried the bolognese and the zozzona. Bolognese was good but the zozzona was great. Both were very good and portions were large. I think if you got one of each and mixed them together and served it would be an incredible dish. Of the two I preferred the Zozzona because of the sweet sausage. My dining partner enjoyed and finished the Bolognese. Good experience and flavorful food... Our apps of meatballs and calamari were good but when we got our red wine, it was freezing. Then we were waiting for at least a half an hour for our food. My sister was starting to worry about getting to her graduation despite us booking 2 hours ahead of her ceremony. When we received our food, all meals came except mine which was about 10 mins after everyone else. The best meals were the Chicken Riggies & Chicken Milanese. The Chicken Piccata was very heavy of Dijon and the Chicken Marsala tasted like Chicken Teriyaki; needless to say, neither dish tasted like its traditional description. Lastly, the Clam Provencal was void of flavor. Half of our party left as soon as I got my food and we paid the check so we weren't late to the ceremony, but then the rest of our party was asked to leave for another group. Sadly, it was different than what we were hoping for.
