I ordered take out, the man didn't give me a time to be there but I arrived about 20 min after I ordered and only had to wait another 3-5 min for them to finish. Totally worth it! This was a fun experience to try overall. There's not many seafood boil places around here. It is a lot of work to get to the actual meat. It's also quite messy, but that's expected. I requested medium spice and king seafood seasoning. My waitress was friendly and checked on me often. My food came out smoking hot. I liked the fact that the sausage was sliced thin, it allowed each piece to soak up the seasoning. This is the first time that I ordered a lobster tail in a boil and it's cooked perfectly! Me and fiancé shared an appetizer of hush puppies, a Mattydale combo with an additional six piece of scallops with King Seafood special seasoning. There was more than enough food for two people to share with being overstuffed. Food was tasty. Seasoning had a nice balance of flavor without being salty like other boil restaurants in the Syracuse area. A little messy but that's to be expected when eating this type of food. They supply gloves, bibs and bucket for shells. Restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere. Server was friendly and helpful with it being our first time there. RedLobster was an option but not a very good one. Recently, in Mattydale King Seafood opened and thought I would give it a shot.. Holy Shxx this place is AMAZING. Don't let the outside deceive you, this place is very clean and cozy, also warm on a cold winter night. Grabbed a Groupon so we could try the experience as it was our first seafood boil. Very quick service, and one boil meal was sufficient for both of us and we consider ourselves pretty good eaters. Very nice staff, with good recommendations. They have fAil specials too. We went with crab, shrimp, clam, corn, sausage, and red potato. Choice of heat, sauces and seasonings which can be mixed, at our waitresses recommendation we went with medium hot, garlic butter and old bay. Great combo! I suggest mild if you don't like heat. Was perfect for us. Meal for two one soda and tip after $30 off with Groupon was $30. We had a hefty lunch leftover for two. Food is good and affordable! We tend to shy away from seafood because it's so exorbitantly priced out here. But we decided to take a chance last night. I ordered the fried fish platter and my husband ordered the chicken strips. Both dinners were tasty, came with sauces, and packaged well. My only complaint is that the chicken tenders were extremely small, but other than that the food was delicious! My fried fish actually had flavor and wasn't dried out. I've been there 2 times so far, so I think that merits a review. 1st time: Great experience all around. I didn't know the spiciness level of the food, so started out with medium garlic butter with a pound of snow crab legs based on our server's recommendations. Food was great and our server was amazing - she was patient and accommodating to our wants and needs, which explained the huge tip she ended up getting (anyone like getting a 35% tip?). 2nd time: Not bad, but our server made mistakes right from the get go. I asked for a pound of snow crab legs with hot garlic butter. She brings out the same sauce that is used in my sister's boil: medium king seafood special sauce. That's not what I asked for. I didn't want to create a fuss because the food tasted good - it just wasn't what I wanted. So great food, poor service the second time around. After reading some rave reviews we decided to check it out. When we walked in we were greeted promptly. Our waitress did a good job the whole visit. Everything was clean and nice inside. I wanted some good fried fish and when I saw catfish that was what I wanted. My wife ordered scallops and they both came with fries. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The onion rings came out first and they were hot and fresh out of the fryer. The problem was they were the frozen ones made from chopped onion and pressed together. Really poor fast food quality and tasteless. When the rest of our meal came out it was once again very hot and fresh from the fryer. But like the onion rings they just were not what we wanted. The breading was very heavy and not seasoned well at all. My fish was mushy and not very fresh tasting. My wife said her scallops were also not good quality and just not that good. flavored All in all a disappointing meal. While their prices are very reasonable the quality was not what I look for in a seafood restaurant. We did not try any of their seafood boil dinner which some people liked. We visited this restaurant for my daughters 22nd Birthday. It was quiet on the night we went. They moved tables around to accommodate us. The waitress was very accommodating. She made sure she gave us the right information about menu items and if she didn't know she found out. We weren't happy with the lobster roll and she removed it off the bill. They only get 4 stars due to my lobster tail twice being over cooked. Other than that this place has great seafood. I have been to all the seafood spots in Syracuse several times and hands down this place has the best flavor. We've gone here quite a few times and we've had some bad experiences with them forgetting items such as eggs, sausage, etc. not a huge deal but they are pretty pricey to be forgetting things. The last time we went they charged us the wrong amount and then called back to up charge us to our amount. Not a huge deal, just things they should double check. Overall the food and the flavor of it is amazing and i will continue to go bc of the food i think i will just be more careful and make sure i get what i order.
