I have been going to fish cove for years even when I was little my parents would get cove fish fried haddock. It's very nostalgic for me and the fish still tastes the same. I love their fried clams also. The food is just always delicious and consistent. But besides the food, the people there are always so friendly and nice. I went today with my 3 month old son so I was carrying my car seat but the young man getting my food offered to bring my food to the counter for me and he was so polite. They move quickly too so even though it does get busy they work fast! The place is small but I do like how they out a tent around the side for those waiting in line when it rains. But like I said the place has not changed and the layout is still the same as when I was little. I recommend fish cover to anyone who wants some good fried haddock or seafood in general. They also have fries, chicken tenders and other types of food for everyone. I absolutely love coming here! read more

Stopped at this place by accident and what a find!! Its an authentic hole in the wall mom and pop shop, with such an amazing staff. The owner greets his customers and they are supper pro military friendly!!! Now the food. Please keep in mind that this is all fried food. They hand make thier batter and it is amazing. Its light and tasty. I tried the shrimp and clam strips, and the onion rings, all super tasty. The shrimp was gutted and cleaned, so yeah, they know how to take care of the customer. I tried their home made shrimp sauce and man oh man was it spicy and delicious. Please support this place, you wont be disappointed with any of thier selections. read more

Fish Cove never disappoints! I live in NC but make it a point...No, a priority, to make a stop here when I am in town. Every time. My order is simple: a pound of sea scallops and some cocktail sauce. Sooooo good. I realize I need to try their other menu items because they do look good and I'm sure they are good. I've tried the regular fish sandwich and the fried shrimp. Both good but their competition down the street has the fried haddock sandwich and haddock meals on lock. Still, fish coves is pretty good. I ordered a fish sandwich for the first time at the Fish Cove on route 11 and north Syracuse and I was handed a hotdog roll with this little 45 inch piece of fish on it I was very disappointed and I've always gotten good food there all the time never ordered a fish sandwich and probably never will. read more

Meh. This place had great reviews so I had to try it. Don't see what everyone is so excited about. I lived in New England for over 35 years and I have to say (seriously) that a filet-o-fish at Micky Dees is better. My sandwich did not even taste like fish which makes me assume that the filets are frozen or not haddock, as advertised and the breading is coarse and grainy. I bought the large sandwich for $7, which is barely larger than the regular, for under $5. The setup is extremely confusing as you are supposed to order your sandwich near the door, your sides at the next station and filets and fries at the third. People were actually passing us in line because we were trying to figure out where to place our order meanwhile the employees are shouting out requests for orders and there are no signs or clear instructions on how to go about ordering. I was waiting for someone to yell at me, "No fish for you! Come back, one year!" and throw me out. Will never go back and definitely will never recommend. Best fish I've had out here is, unfortunately, only available during the observation of Lent, at the St. Mary's church annex in Minoa. Excellent fish. read more

My 1st time here but been living in Clay/ No . Syracuse area for 22 yrs. Went here this past Friday. Got 2 fish sandwich and small fries and large coleslaw. Went home to eat with my husband. Had a couple errands to run. Around 2 hours after eating got a pain in my stomach. Once home after errands @4pm I vomited in my driveway. My husband only had a small fork full of the slaw. I had much more. Maybe a small scoop size. I wound up @ University E.D. by 10:45 pm. Wasn't able to keep any liquids down. They treated me & released me . Said it was food poisoning. read more

Stood in line outside for 30 minutes. But that's ok. When I finally got up to the counter I was told I have to get my four paddock dinners outside at the table. When I was outside there were no Dinners at the table. So I go back out and the lady told me I have to wait back in the long line to get the rest of my order . I wouldn't mind of waiting if there we directions available on the process. So after all this time I said forget it. I called village Burger in Liverpool they have me a number. Best fish on the plannet, hands down. This is a good judge of how good the food is, I used to work there (when it was still owned by the previous owner, its a new independant owner now, just the N Syracuse store though) and I still eat there, food is absolutely amazing. They have everything that you could ever want as long as you want fish, if they dont have it they can even order it for you for the next time! An ever so basic and to the point setup, you walk in the door, you order, you get your food and then you pay, and then you leave, doesnt get much easier than that. I have had fish from all of the other local guys, and in comparrison they just fail to even come close to meeting up to the giant standard that is set here. Prices are all reasonable, keeping in mind that some seafood is expensive, and they arent selling you 55-75 count shrimp here, so dont expect it to be like shopping at aldi's but dont expect to pay more than what youre getting is worth. I have never felt like I paid too much for anything here. read more

I love this place! I was in town for the weekend and got food from here twice. Their seafood to breading ratio is on point. Everything is fried BEAUTIFULLY, Haddock sandwich - yum. Clam roll - delicious.. But my favorite is their fried oysters. Don't skimp out - get at least half a pound per person cuz this stuff is amazeballs. The oysters taste so fresh it's as if they were shucked only minutes before hitting the oil. They are fried to perfection and pair extremely well with the bang bang sauce... or even just by themselves. Can't wait to come back and eat there again =) read more

Old fashioned fish fry shop. They serve you promptly with fresh fried fish. The food is old school no frills fish and chips. It's very organized. In and out in less than 5 minutes. I'm not sure what some of these other comments are about as there isn't any seating or a bar. Just a great local fish shop. read more
