On a recent trip to visit a local antique market in Pulaski- we stopped by the Lakeside Restaurant for a bite to eat and wow, were we pleasantly surprised! Seemingly in the middle of rural upstate NY is this gem of a restaurant. The server and everyone on the staff that interacted with us were simply lovely! Kind, helpful and joyful. I ordered a turkey melt with onion rings, and my friend had a burger with fried which she claimed was one of the best she had eaten in a long time. Accompanied by "sassy sauce" our fries and onion rings were dipped in this delightful yet spicy accoutrement! My turkey melt was delicious- carved turkey- not slimy cold cuts, cheese and banana peppers were a perfect and delectable combination on lightly toasted bread- simply marvelous! For desert- and they are all lovingly homemade, I had a mixed berry pie with ice cream and my friend had a slice of Dutch apple pie! Both equally and fabulously delicious! We left stuffed to the gills and so glad that we turned the truck around to try this hidden gem! Don't pass it up- stop by- it's worth it! read more

Bottom line up front. Overpriced for the quality. My $20 hamburger was simply average and not worth the money. While my wife enjoyed her breakfast it was not without sine distractors as the hash was lacking sufficient meat and any real flavor. I love the vibe of this cute, little roadside restaurant. We stopped in for lunch. As I am mostly vegetarian, I can say that they don't have many options for that, but it was to be expected. I got a cheese quesadilla with buffalo sauce and a side salad and it was great. My brother had the ultimate burger, and he said it left a little to be desired, he didn't like the bun they use but the sweet potato fries were great. Our waitress was really sweet and checked back in with us, just the right amount! And I got a slice of apple spice cake to go. All in all a good stop! read more

Stopped in here to grab an early lunch while passing through this gorgeous area. Food - I had the Reuben and fries and my husband had the corned beef and hash. Mine was excellent. His was also very good/ Ambiance - very rustic but charming and clean. Service - was a tad slow, but we knew that going in as they had a sign explaining they were short staffed. We wanted to try the restaurant out So we went there on a Friday for their fish fry We ordered haddock the price was normal When it came out, it was a small one piece of fish. I told the waitress I didn't order perch. She smiled, and she said this is Haddock So I told myself maybe it's exceptional in taste and it wasn't The coleslaw wasn't grated fine enough And the sauce wasn't creamy it was runny Needless to say, I would never go there again to order haddock I'm not the only one that complains about their fish Lots of nice restaurants in town. read more

It ms a cozy atmosphere and the servers are really nice. The food took a while, but they are a small place and had a big party and only seemed to have two servers working the whole restaurant. I love when a restaurant has liver and onion and it's cooked correctly! Nice and moist! Right away they let us know limited help but it was still quick service for lunch. We stopped over after setting up camp at Selkirk Shores. The bread served at the table is yummy! I especially liked that there was a dipping oil as well as butter for the bread. My husband had seafood Alfredo. The seafood was grilled, which was unique. It was very flavorful. I had scallops. They were cooked well, and the cocktail sauce had a nice kick. Service was great. One drawback is the up charge for credit card use. It would look better if there was a cash discount instead of an up charge. The math can still be the same. Just slide down from the credit price instead of up from the cash price. read more

A group of us driving through decided to grab a quick bite after an afternoon at Selkirk. We were pleasantly surprised in how quick and tasty everything was. I searched Yelp looking for a place to get something to eat while heading back to my hotel. The Lakeside Restaurant looked interesting. I arrived there shortly before closing time. (They close at 8 pm). and asked the server if I could order something to go because I knew they were closing. The server, I think her name was Kim. Invited me in to sit at a table. Offered me a drink and a. menu. I ordered the New York Strip dinner. A very nicely made dinner salad arrived along with my ice cold beer. As I finished my salad my steak came out cooked as requested and the steamed broccoli and Bearnaise sauce on the side. Some friends and I made a trip out to Sandy Island State Park for some fun in the sun. After working up an appetite, we decided to ask the lifeguards where we could get some good grub. He referred us to Lakeside. Because of his chill vibe, it led us to believe that the restaurant would be a quick eat and back to business. When we arrived we were greeted enthusiastically by Kelly. What a sweet lady! She was super helpful and made so many recommendations we almost bought everything on the menu. Her daughter, Katrina, a self-proclaimed new bartender, seemed to not lack any experience. The drinks she made my friends and I were ON POINT! We downed them and kept asking for more. Everything about this restaurant was scrumptious! Wings, fried cheese curds, onion rings, fried pickles, chips, tater tots, seafood platter, steak and twisted chicken were amazing! I don't even like tartar sauce and their homemade sauce was so good! So much flavor in all the food. We were so full by the end of our meals that we could barely move. Do you think that stopped us from ordering dessert? Not at all. We each ordered four different slices of pie + ice cream to go and shared them all when we got home. Blueberry, key lime, peanut butter chocolate and chocolate fudge. This is definitely a hidden gem I recommend to anyone looking for a delectable, home-cooked meal. And to top it all off, my friends and I split the bill + tip that rounded each of us off to about $46 a piece. So much food for so little cost! I hate that I found this restaurant at the end of my time in Syracuse. We vowed to come back on Monday before we move to try their meatloaf. Worth the trip. Nice place and seriously delightful waitstaff. Cozy atmosphere that I'm sure would work well in summer or winter (summer in this case). Chicken tenders appetizer was a touch overdone, but good, and with an excellent homemade bbq sauce. Fries were excellent. I got the quarter pound burger which was pretty decent. I'm not sure if they typically ask folks how they like burgers cooked, but it's a bonus, I'll put it that way. Mine was pretty much...medium I'd say, which is cool with me. They may also want a... let's call it "quarter-pound-sized-roll", just so the perfectly decent burger doesn't get swallowed up by bread. Stopped here to grab a bite with my family. This place goes over the top with service. My grandson has food allergies and we told our waitress to avoid any problems. She actually brought the chef to our table to find out exactly what he could eat. We had 5 delicious meals and wonderful service also. As an added bonus on the way out my 2 grandsons were told to choose a toy from the box of goodies. This business has definitely grown since first opening. Always busy on Friday nights for fish Friday. They also have ice cream which brings in a ton of folks during the summer months. Ice cream is good with lots of choices and doggie sundaes for our pups. Food has been good a few times and also fair a few times. Stopped In for fried haddock dinners - a Friday night tradition in upstate NY - and we were not disappointed. For a very reasonable price we got huge portions of deliciously prepared fried haddock, along with tasty sides. There were 3 of us and between us we thought the mac & cheese, fried onion rings, and cole slaw were also terrific. We also ordered the buffalo blue cheese chips for an appetizer and they were a big hit at the table. The homemade potato chips were dressed with buffalo chicken sauce, blue cheese crumbles and dressing - all the taste buds were dancing to that tune! We topped it all of with delicious and generous portions of ice cream at their outside stand - though we could have ordered at the table as we'll. This place is awesome, after a long day fishing the ladies working there were full of energy, fun, engaging and you could tell they genuinely cared about service and the food they brought to you. We had a couple nice stiff drinks, followed by maybe the best mozzarella sticks I have ever had, side salads, and then on to the main course. I had the Prime Rib special for Sat night, it was cooked perfect, my buddy had a burger and he loved it, including the brioche bun. They even whipped me up some horseradish sauce. Finally, we topped it off with the homemade apple crisp cheesecake! We will be back next time! Best place in town! read more
