So we checked out of a hotel down the road, and instead of enjoying their free breakfast of cereal and maybe a waffle, my wife suggested Wade's. She had been here before, so I'm thinking sure why not. We walked in and sat right up at the counter and the gentleman that was working the grill was super friendly. He's basically cooking for the whole restaurant with another guy next to him and yet still found the time to welcome us in and take our order. I got the southwestern omelette that is made with homemade chorizo hash and he asked if I would like some jalapeno chopped up in there to which I said sure why not. Comes with a side of toast and potatoes... My wife gets eggs benedict, and they have a menu item called the Benny extreme which is the same basically but it comes with tomato and spinach, so she opted for this. She also ordered a cinnamon swirl pancake. I'm thinking hey that sounds pretty good, so I asked if I could also have a cinnamon swirl pancake. The gentleman taking our order just kind of looked at me and said are you sure? So now I'm thinking to myself yes yes of course I'm sure I've had pancakes before, some places I go to I get a whole stack of them, I'm thinking I can handle one and I'll use it as like a dessert item. He says okay, smiles, and they prepare our food. Everything tasted wonderful. The hash was excellent, at least I think it was I mean I've never had it before but no complaints. The only surprise I had was the pancake. It was on its own dinner plate. This thing was freaking huge. We could have easily shared one and maybe had leftovers as we also both ordered breakfast in addition to these two monster pancakes. Now please understand I was in no way upset. While it is true my wife could have warned me about the size, and he could have said something as well, it was okay. I still finished everything and most of my pancake. Over all the service was great, like I said this guy was cooking for the whole restaurant and he's still found the time to check on us and made sure our coffee was full. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the area however it might be a little while because I live a couple hours away. The only thing I wish I had done that I forgot, when you order toast with your breakfast, the bread is homemade and they sell it by the loaf. White, wheat, rye, they have all of it. I meant to buy a loaf and I forgot. I look at it now though it's just an excuse to go back, and of course to grab another one of those pancakes... The only other thing that I could mention is that the place is a little smaller than I had expected. Everything was nice and clean so that's a bonus however for the business they're doing, and the number of people waiting to get a table, they could use a larger dining room. read more

How did we not know that this fabulous breakfast haven was just around the corner? Well we do now! We popped by one frosty morning to sample their wares and it was worth the trip! We were promptly greeted and seated and our server was very attentive. They are apparently known for their raisin bread so my husband had their raisin bread French toast sandwich and I had an omelette. Being that it was our first time- the server surprised us with the cinnamon pancakes! Yummmmmy. The omelette was good- a bit thin, and the choices for cheese are very limited. The home fries while large in portion are uneventful- and basically just potatoes. No onion, no peppers, no flavor save for the salt I added. Other than those few things- it was a great experience and we bought a loaf of their raisin bread which is TO DIE FOR! They have an onsite bakery that produces white, wheat and rye breads as well! Visiting the area everyone recommended Wades for breakfast. It did not disappoint. We waited a good 10-15 minutes to sit. The food is fresh. Homemade. Delicious. I came up from Florida to beat the heat and my brother took me to Wades. WOW!!! I travel the world and Wade's is my favorite breakfast place HANDS DOWN. I was skeptical ordering my favorite - Eggs Benedict - bit the chefs said not to worry AND WERE THEY EVER RIGHT!! Just delicious. And what a varied menu. I can't say enough good things about this place. We sat at the bar and watched the cooks so their thing so we escaped the long line of people on a Tuesday morning waiting for a table ... but even if I had to wait, it would have been well worth it. This breakfast diner is a staple of the Oswego community. When people return to Oswego for a visit after moving away, Wade's is one of the places that is considered a "must visit". Ownership has changed hands and the restaurant had to be rebuilt after a fire so things will look at lot different , but rest assured the food is as great as you remember it. The new owners were smart enough to realize that you don't fix something that's not broken. Still all of the favorite menu items that made them famous, with a lot of added items. I'll start with the men that prepared my food, cooked it right in front of me, unbelievable how everything they put together was like a great talent that only Ted and Chris could preform, just fabulous everything, omelets, French Raisin toast, the whole menu is fabulous. The service is beyond great, their kindness, they never write an order down and Tracy is just unbelievable she keeps everything in order, never misses a beat. The whole staff is wonderful. This diner is very clean, seating is large, and you're always treated like family. Cozy, crowded and comforting, what more could you look for in a diner? I had the raisin bread French toast on the recommendation of a fellow Yelper. I took it a step further though and had the stuffed raisin bread french toast. It was everything a diner breakfast should be, sweet, savory, warm, soft, crunchy. In a word, delicious. I choose ham as my meat and it was rolled into the French toast along with the eggs. Boy, it hit the spot! My husband had the eggs, corned beef hash and home fries. He definitely enjoyed his meal. My son got Eggs Benedict. It's normally one of my favorite breakfast meals. The eggs were done just right and although I'm sure the hollandaise sauce was a mix it was still very good. The coffee was not my favorite but typical diner coffee, average. The service was so friendly. They apologized for the wait but I understood. It's a small busy place. All this for a fair price. Can I give it a 10 star review ? This is where I started and ended my trip to Oswego with my family. My daughter insisted we go back and if you knew my daughter you would know this is high praise. Friendly and homey. Also. And listen well. Do not miss the cinnamon bread that they bake there. I bought a loaf and gave half to my daughter living in Oswego (I was a shero!!! Was in Oswego with the wife over the weekend and looking for a place to have breakfast on Saturday morning. Wade's was quite the find! The place was busy, if I had to pick on something it might be the lack of parking, but the place is on a city side street so I don't know what they could really do to improve that. We were seated promptly and a server came to take our order within a couple minutes. This was a pleasant surprise because the place seemed really busy. I had the 2 eggs with toast and home fries. Pretty standard breakfast, but the cinamon raisin toast was really spectacular! Next time I'm in town will definitely make sure to have breakfast at this place again. The bacon was the best I've had in ages, was perfect texture, flavor, perfectly cooked, not too chewy, not too greasy, alil thick, alil crispy, THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF EVERYTHING! I was very happy I ordered the bacon as a side with my meal. Meal was the steak and cheese omelette which comes with onions mushrooms and peppers... I am not one to complain on here and I DID enjoy the meal just my expectations were slightly let down. I ordered a 3egg omelette with egg whites maybe that lead them to believe I did not want cheese with my Steak AND CHEESE omelette. And WHO KNOWS maybe they did me a favor I GENERALLY try to steer clear of dairy but I was looking forward a Philly cheesesteak type omelette and the peppers and mushrooms were def lacking it was mainly steak&eggwhites, which was tasty just not what I had ordered exactly or what I expected. I substituted the home fries side for corn-beef hash and BOY WAS THAT GOOD! If the omelette had a few more green peppers 1-2more mushrooms and even the faintest hint of cheese I'd have EASILY given my experience a 5.
