The only Good fish dinner for the area. Most generally good diner food. Good and friendly people I would recommend if you're driving by.

Good tasting well prepared food. Courteous and friendly staff. Won't break the bank to have a quick meal out.

Arrived for dinner on July 1, our family is as impressed by the description on the website. Greeted…read moreby a kind hostess, a full bar/lounge and empty dining room. Six of us, with four orders of broiled haddock, one chicken parmesan, and one grilled chicken Caesar. The haddock was very disappointing. All arrived on cold plates, over-seasoned with paprika (and nothing else'), accompanied by a meager five or six overcooked thin slices of zucchini. It was obvious the vegetables were reheated, as they almost dissolved on the cold plate. The fish was barely warm, bland, and uninspired. The chicken Parmesan was very large, enough to serve three. The chicken Caesar was also lime-warm, also obviously reheated, warm and limp, not hot and seared as one would expect from a grilled chicken breast. It was chopped into shall pieces and tossed in the salad. Our friend did not eat it all, as they were turned off by the odd flavor and obvious "not grilled, reheated" presentation. Later that night, they were sick and continued to be ill into the next afternoon. This establishment needs a critical look at its head chef, freshness of ingredients, and presentation of service. I'm allowing one star for friendliness of our hostess.

When I arrived no one was at reception so I decided to venture into the bar and grab an espresso martini. I then sat out on their side deck and the view was spectacular! I ordered the seafood pasta special which was delicious! It came with a side salad and I appreciated that it wasn't just a small plop of bagged iceberg lettuce from the grocery store. The rolls with butter were perfect with my dish. The carrot cake was absolutely amazing! Would love to know who made it. I only give 4 starts due to the fact that my server didn't seem to know much about the menu. I asked a couple of things and she wasn't able to give me much insight. If I'm spending $25-$30 on an entree I would like the servers to be aware of what it is etc. We will most definitely be back!

This is the biggest disconnect between yelp reviews and actual experience I've ever had. I have to…read moreassume they were having an off night or a backup chef or something. The mixed salad was just a generic greens salad you'd find at a buffet. The crab cakes had bits of hard shell bits I've never experienced in a crab cakes. The scallops are for some reason left in a sauce in a ramekin, meaning they kept cooking, meaning these were the most overcooked, rubbery, hard to choke down scallops I've had in my life. We didn't finish our meal. What a rough experience across the board. There's much better food in town for similar price points / fine dining ambiance, this is the one bad experience of our whole trip to the lake

As always, it is a great environment with dining room, patio or sunroom options. Wine or beer only, and wine prices are quite reasonable. We ordered a wonderful bottle of rose, served chilled and crisp and with just the right amount of sweetness. I ordered port wine mushroom bisque, perfectly made and creamy. For an entree I had shrimp scampi, garlicky and lemony and fabulous with a plethora of Large shrimp. We had to order dessert to share since they had coconut custard pie. Out of this world.

Unlike in April, when I enjoyed a perfectly cooked medium rare burger and delicious hot crispy sweet potato fries, when I walked in I could see that the kitchen was manned by two young guys instead of Lori, and I sensed that I might be in trouble. Once again I've learned to trust my instincts. I ordered the same meal, the Bacon Bourbon Swiss burger, medium rare, and sweet potato fries. The burger arrived well done, dry as a bone, grey inside and tasteless, while the fries were limp and lifeless. My burger in April also had lots of the delicious bourbon sauce, while I could detect none of that sauce on this one, adding to the dryness of the burger and the most unpleasant experience. My understanding is that the owner has many irons in the fire. My experience would suggest that he has perhaps too many irons, as there appears to be no one there to ensure that standards are upheld to enable consistent quality. I arrived highly anticipating another great dining experience, and left hungry and severely disappointed. So, next year when I go fishing and go there for lunch or dinner if I see Lori in the kitchen I will stay and eat, but if there's anyone else I'll leave and get a sandwich at the Bayside convenience store. Our server was kind enough to remove my meal from our bill, was very sympathetic and understanding and was generously tipped because of it, the only reason why I gave two stars.
