On Father's Day, my daughters and I surprised my husband with Colloca's Father's Day clambake. The estate grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The views of the lake were beautiful, and the serenity that this winery possesses is one that everyone should enjoy at some point in time. The clambake was held in their event center, which is GORGEOUS! We were greeted and seated immediately upon arriving. Staff were all so amazing and friendly. Our dinner was served buffet style and was very tasty. We had quite a few options to choose from for the ticket price. After dinner, we stayed and explored the grounds, took a long walk alongside the dock, and simply enjoyed the calmness and tranquility. We actually stayed much longer than we planned, which led to us working up an appetite again. Luckily for us, there is a wood fire kitchen located on the estate, and we were able to have another quick bite before heading home, delicious!!! The options we chose were wonderful! So much so that my husband and I agreed to return for date night (we live an hour away, and it's definitely worth the drive). I discovered this treasure by Lake Ontario recently and couldn't believe I'd never been! It was so beautiful and quaint with a little pond to sit by in Adirondack chairs. There were multiple building where you could order a drink, order food, do a wine tasting or attend an event. They made a fabulous peach mule! I had a sweet Riesling that was perfect. It is dog friendly, which was perfect for us. We can't go anywhere without our dog. We were new so I asked the staff a lot of questions and they were super helpful. We will be back! read more

What a FANTATSIC and absolutely GORGEOUS resort like winery. This place is the crème de la crème of Wineries. Living in Long Island and having explored CA, NY, CT, VA, France, and Italy wineries, we believe this place, aesthetically is on par or better than any other place. The beautiful buildings, setting on Lake Ontario, a beautiful pond, along with a catering hall, separate tasting room house, great Kitchen and outdoor full bar, and a great drive up road, this place ranks #1 in my book. The wine was decent, overall. There are 2 that were surprisingly very good, their sparking wine and Casa Bianco. Pizza, salad, sandwiches were excellent too. Love this place and the vibe was great. We were here previously for a wedding, but this time it was drinks, dinner and fun. We sat outside by the wine bar, near the lake. It is a beautiful property and just was such a perfect afternoon. We had a mixture of draft beers, mixed drinks and wine. It's always nice at a winery to have other choices for beverages. We ordered at the counter and got a "buzzer"(?) to let us know when our food was ready. They have appetizers, sandwiches, salads, wings and pizza. There was even a special price for pizza on our visit. My friend and I shared wings, salad and pizza. Everything was delicious! Cooked and seasoned beautifully, it looked great and portions were very nice size. The wings were Asian sweet and spicy ( they looked burnt but weren't), the Vineyard salad and Mushroom and Pepperoni pizza. I am a California wine country regular. I call Napa, Paso Robles, and Temecula "home" on the weekends. Saying this is not a brag, just an establishment that I love AND know my wine. Colloca Winery is a stunning venue. I have only been to two wine estates that can compare in beauty. The staff seemed knowledgeable and we're quite friendly. The wine was good, well priced and tasty. I stopped in here on a Saturday with a small group of people to enjoy the views and the good wine. We made a reservation for a table, which was a good idea considering how busy they were! We were seated quickly and brought menus of their food and wine/cider options. They had a big assortment and offered flights of wine as well as cider or beer which was great. Our waitress was funny and checked on us frequently and also knowledgeable about the food they served. We got a pear pizza and some calamari for the table, you are also still currently required to order food. Wow! We found this place as "something to do in the area" on yelp. It ended up being one of our favorite places on our entire trip! Absolutely beautiful, the food was the best that we have had since we got here. The winds were awesome, the bartenders were great. The scenery was spectacular. They also have really good weekly specials. Here's a little tip, the bartenders are really nice about letting you sample some of the drinks as well. The pizzas were amazing! Margherita and pesto pizzas were phenomenal and the Mac and cheese was huge and had a great Smokey flavor. Honesty, that may have been the best Mac and cheese I've ever had!! My kids really enjoyed checking out the fish, turtles, and frogs that were in the pond. What an incredible place to enjoy a drink, have some excellent food and let the kids run around. We were here this afternoon and it was wonderful. Make sure to order food FIRST before ordering alcoholic beverages- it's the law now. We ordered the Charcuterie board and the Blue Hawaiian and Mango Cider. Absolutely one of the best drinks I have ever had - the Blue Hawaiian is to die for! If Cruising was a flavor Blue Hawaiian for sure! We also tried their delicious Raspberry Ice cream and Wine slushees. They have a house on the property for personal use, a wide open field that is used for wedding ceremonies with a tent and indoor space for the reception. And everything is close by which is great because there is a bar & a place to eat pizza freshly cooked in the fire oven. Love this place. Was out at the bluffs and decided to take a ride over here. The grounds are just so pretty. There is a large outside bar, a food ordering area, an ice cream stand, tasting room and an event room. The grounds are very big. You can grab a drink and go for a walk towards the water where the re are tables and Gazebo or you can stay near the bar where there is ample seating around a nice size pound. There is also a stage for live music next to the pound. The drinks are responsible priced, wine is good and there a plenty of options for other things. We got a Charcuterie to share that was good. The pizzas looked really good and sounded good too. This place is worth a try. You can bring your dog!!! Can't beat that. Looking forward to going again very soon! read more

This rating does not reflect Marilyn and the wonderful ladies in the tasting room! They are fantastic. Five stars for them. Before reading what happened it's good to know I reached out via website form to them nearly two weeks ago to see if they could make amends and was completely ignored. They didn't even have a general phone number for management. This is the last resort and hopefully a good warning to other LGBTQIA+ to stay away. This rating reflects the discrimination we faced when trying to order food at the outside restaurant. Plainly put, we waited a few minutes for service with two server/bartenders working and three couples total at the bar (one was already served). That's fine as my partner and I have both been server/bartenders and are patient. We actually were planning on ordering a lot and over tipping which is our norm. But after that few minutes of waiting in which the one worker (brown hair, partially shaved, tattoos, young white woman) joked with the only other couple needing to order about the videos playing then just walked to the back to get something. She barely even glanced at us. The other worker (maybe in her 50's blond hair white woman) glanced at us several times but never nodded or actually acknowledged us. This is important to know because just then was what I assumed was our turn to be served. I saw a young white guy approach the bar. I said to my partner, if she serves him before us we should leave. Guess what? She immediately approached him to help him. We walked away and when she realized she had messed up in some fashion (literally we were the only other people waiting to be served so of course she knew we were walking away) she yelled after us "I'll take your order". No thanks. It's important to know here that we are two obviously gay women. We stood out as everyone there is white hetero coupled people. My partner is biracial too. We have been wine club members since discovering the place, having recently moved to the area. But we can no longer support a local business that discriminates against us. We really did our best to keep an open mind and assume people wouldn't act like our neighbors who have the "don't blame me I voted for trump" banners on their houses but alas. Anyone of color or queer in any form really should look elsewhere. This winery really does represent this area extremely well as far as conservative right wing values. It's not a safe space for us. And as a side note the service in the lounge is poor, food mediocre, and music quite loud and annoying. Think fully amped hair band covers by one guy in a small space (that actually happened). Wine wise, the red wines aren't good, whites are ok. Bear in mind we were willing to overlook all of this and repeatedly give them our money out of desperation for a local hangout until they passively told us "no gays allowed." They should be ashamed. Went here for the first time the other night. I love the layout and ambiance. The owners did a really beautiful job. We ordered some food and were disappointed that the cheese board came in a little box but during this time it's understandable. The live music was also great! Colloca Estate is a fabulous addition to the little Villiage of Fair Haven. Mr. Colloca has embraced a beautiful & special place on Fair Haven Bay. He has shown vision. This unique property was formerly owned by a prominent local Fair Haven family, and later donated to a State University - which then hastily proceeded to sell the property off, rather than utilize it for education & logos. The property sat vacant for many years until it was acquired by an owner that proposed to grace it with a trailer park! This backward "towny" Village responded with a firm "no thank you." Many reviewers might be surprised by the number of Post-Graduate/doctorates residing here. The Village is lucky to have Mr. Colloca, who himself has earned a PHD. Many wish Dr. Colloca only the best, and we are glad he chose Fair Haven to pursue his dream. This all said, many of the food criticisms voiced here on yelp are entirely valid. The food service is disorganized and suffers at every level, but many of us know that Mr. Colloca KNOWS good food. Give him time. The prices are more than fair. But the food sadly does not warrant its location & potential. Colloca Estate is simply lacking a trained Chef de Cuisine. (Sorry current staff, but it's the truth). Perhaps a scholarship for a local young person to CIA?(Culinary Institute of America)- COUPLED with an employment contract, for say 4-5 yrs? The military academies ask the same - why not a Chef de Cuisine? The Empire State is unfriendly to business, and those reviewers that laughingly point out the dysfunction of Upstate NY, never grace themselves to think of possible remedies to the problems brought about by Albany & the cloistered urbanites. And for those critical of little Fair Haven, perhaps Skaneateles would suit them better. The Village of Fair Haven has fended off the likes of Dollar General and other predatory Corporate dystopias. Stopped in briefly as part of the "Christmas Around the World" Lake Ontario Wine Trail Tour/event. It's quite a hike from Rochester, but incredibly beautiful property. Enjoyed the "giggle juice", though the other wines we tried werent very memorable and the prices seemed a bit steep-we definitely didn't bring anything home. I wish I had better things to say about such a beautiful location, but that's where my compliments stop. There is NO EXCUSE for serving an $8 glass of wine in a plastic cup, even if it is outdoors, particularly if the beer comes in glass, too! Trust your customers, or buy a broom if you're worried about glass breaking. We ordered three of your "wood fired pizzas" and they were nearly inedible. Burned on the bottom, which made them bitter. Menu claimed "Buffalo mozzarella", but I don't think there's ever been buffalo mozzarella near that place. The plastic tables in the outdoor dining area made it look like a kids' party, and don't even get me started on the lack of cleanliness. A note about the service: please train your staff to not eat their meals at the bar while they are working and to greet customers with a hello, hand them a menu, and answer their questions in entirety. It would also behoove you to allow patrons to pay for their food at the bar, rather than having to pay separately for food and drink at two locations. Also eliminates the need for food handlers to handle money, which is incredibly unsanitary. Colloca: I want you to succeed, truly I do. It's wonderful to have such a lovely place for folks to go to for a meal and a glass of wine. But you need to class it up all the way, not half way, or you will lose all of the people you're trying to attract. People are willing to pay a little more for something good, but it truly needs to be something worth paying for. read more

We do not go out much... So today we went to Colloca's. VERY disappointed! Wine was decent, but the food was well below par and horrible! No basil in the Caprice' Salad, Calamari was overpriced, frozen and served way over fried and no sauce. Their event coordinator worked with us, at no extra charge, to reserve two outdoor tables for our party of 15 during their weekly Thursday Happy Hour, which was perfect.  Our friendly server, Sienna, did an excellent job of keeping everyone's plates and glasses filled.  The food was delicious and wine was superb, as always. TEN CAR PIE-L-UP ON I-95 IN Bridgeport is all I can equate this to!!!! Rocky Horror Picture Show minus the Lipstick!! Visited the Wine Bar on 6/11/17\...what a wreck. We have a term in this business...Mise-en-Place....and Wine Bar has completely ignored the principles set forth to develop a proper restaurant. Don't turn your head...keep driving because you really do not want to witness the HORROR!!! This is the second worst 'pizza" I have had in my 49 years on this planet. Worst was in Greensboro back in July 1997...and this nearly topped that freak show. Chris, do not allow your staff to fire up the Forno Bravo again until they visit Luzzo in NYC, Bianco in Phoenix or Dough in San Antonio. The Forno Bravo wood fired oven has been jury rigged with a 20lb burner under the stone because the pizza maker (not a Pizzaiolo by any stretch of the imagination) has no clue how to manage the wood firing process. The fire is dim, weak and incapable of properly cooking a pizza, wings or meatballs. As I waited for 20 minutes standing at the bar for my check I watched her take a 18" long & 10" diameter round log and roll it into the oven. Holy Shimminyanagas...wrong, wrong, wrong!!! Round logs suck heat, do not burn and work against the process in a Forno Bravo. What are you doing??? Pizza- dough is a total mess and pizza cook has no idea how to form the foundation of a proper pie. Sauce is clearly of the canned pre-made variety and I am pretty sure it is Don Peppino. Menu claims Buff Mozz...not only is this Fake News it is total BS. Go to Luzzo if you care to know what the real thing (imported from Italy) is. toppings...non-existent. Final product...raw dough, lame sauce, average mozzarella, and scarce toppings with NO Flavor. I am not your test rat. Get it right or do not charge me. Wings- pre-cooked & stored in a zip lock. tossed in a cast iron pan and sent into a low heat "wood fired oven". Buffalo wing sauce squirted on to the wings half way thru the re-heat process. Result- rubbery sadness with no blue cheese or celery to accompany the disaster. I am not a guinea pig...do not charge me while you try to figure out how to properly do wings in a wood oven. Bar- total nightmare- the bar top is stone and there is a grimy layer of nasty on the customer side of the bar...total turn off. Bar is completely unorganized and bartender is constantly dumping mistake drinks in the sink. This will kill profitability and the place will suffer for it. Bob is going to bleed this place with an unnecessarily high beverage cost. My first glass of wine was served in a dirty, unwashed glass with lipstick on it...are you freaking kidding me??? This is the service industry we are talking about here. Totally unacceptable. There is a term in the military for this place...FUBAR!!! If you do not put your arms around the fact that you are now a restaurateur, Chris, I fear you will suffer financially, mentally & physically from this endeavor. This place is physically beautiful and functionally BORKED!!! Before you open your new expanded kitchen I beg you to; Stop, Consult, Consider, Train, and Commit to the endeavor. We came from Buffalo, New York looking forward to a wine tasting and to purchase bottles of wine, however we were running 15 minutes late so I called to let the tasting room know we were late and the woman said it was totally fine we would just have an abbreviated course. Upon arrival, the woman hosting the wine tasting greeted us argumentatively and made us feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable we were in shock how she handled the situation. We would have purchased 7+ bottles of wine plus a tip for the concierge, however we felt so unwelcome we left and will never return or recommend anyone to this winery. We were very disappointed in the service we received and felt the situation could have been handled in a more professional manner. I would give zero stars if it were an option. read more

This winery is absolutely beautiful. The location is amazing, nestled on the banks of Little Sodus Bay near Fairhaven, NY. However, if you're looking for a bite to eat while enjoying your drinks, this is not the place. A group of us stopped there for lunch on the 4th of July. We were the first customers of the day. They were out of buns and bread which made the already limited menu cut by more than half. I ended up ordering the Boom Boom Shrimp which tasted like something I could buy in the freezer section of any grocery store. The side of fries was okay but had the hefty price of $6. I was with a fairly large group and we all agreed we would never eat there again. In all fairness, the drinks were very good. read more
