Im a whiskey and IPA drinker that thought cider would be way too sweet, I was so wrong and love many of the ciders at Embark. Try the tasting for only $13.50. Big pours and great to try a lot of options. Thanks Embark for getting me into ciders and I will check out that on menus in the future.

A group of us rode our bikes aling part of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail thru the apple country of Wayne County, which we would highly recommend. Pretty -- and fun! Embark CRaft Ciderworks was a perfect conclusion to the ride -- we all got burgers and ciders, and the Bills game was playing on all the screens. Didn't get any shots of the burgers -- we were too hungry. But I DID capture the fried cheese curds! YUM! All fried food is an A+ in my book .... but when it SQUEAKS, too?!?!? Can't beat it!!! Food, drink, service, and atmosphere at Embark are all great!

    Cider flights $8 for 5 (4oz) choices.

Embark Hard Cider is located within Lagoner farms and have 5-7 Hard Ciders on tap. They have a tasting room with $8 Flights which include 5 (4oz) pours. They have a nice, small tasting area/bar with stools and several tables and chair to enjoy some of their farm to table food offerings. We only tasted the ciders so this review doesn't include any of the food offerings which is technically called Lagoner Farms Café. The tasting area is very clean, trendy decorated and you walk through the farm location to get to the cider tasting area. Staff was very friendly and appeared knowledgeable about all the varieties. All the flavors are generally described as "dry." I felt they tasted more like a dry wine than cider personally. I am not a fan of dry wines so I really didn't enjoy any of the flavors. I will say they were clean, crisp flavors so if you like dry wines, cider then you may enjoy these. They sell their ciders by the larger sized bottle, I didn't see any growlers or prices for the bottles so can't comment on that. I really wish they would add some sweeter ciders. I would say if you are in the area its worth a try if you like dry wines/ciders. But we have many options in the Rochester area for craft cider, this wouldn't be my first choice.

Creating hard ciders that feature the true flavors of the apple varieties, sourced from Lagoner Farms, a family farm since 1909, and other local orchards.

Back again and they've expanded their space! The bar is much larger now - in an L shape lining the room next to Lagoner Farm's country store, plus more tables and seating. Their ciders are crisp and refreshing, making this a worthwhile stop during the fall season if you're there to go apple picking or just about anytime to have a cider tasting and learn about the farm. The staff are all so friendly and interesting to talk to. Their flagship ciders are awesome! I opt for the Old Marauder as my #1 (dry!) with the American Hopped a close #2 (I like the hoppy addition, but a little sweeter on the palate). If you have a chance to try any of their seasonals, do it! I really enjoyed their strawberry rhubarb (not sweet), really well balanced and paired so well with the hard cider base. They have a more robust menu now with burger options, salads, flatbreads, and more. We went the appetizer route on our last visit and got the pretzel... it really is monster. The honey mustard was so good with it.

We went here on a whim with some friends. It's was a bit of a hike from Rochester, but definitely worth it. They have a wide selection of cider and beer, so there's something for everyone. Flights were a fun way to try a nice variety and I left the 5th glass open for a recommendation from the bartender. She did not disappoint! Service was friendly. Food was good. There's also a store attached to it so you can take some snacks, local foods, and beer home!

Just wanted to know if my cider was supposed to look like this, and couldn't get a straight answer. Was told "some sediment" is normal, but this doesn't look like some sediment to me. I ended up tossing it. I drink ciders exclusively, so I would have been a good customer to retain. Not great business.

This is a must stop if you are going down 104, or to plan a day around. I was blown away by this tasting room, because there is something for anyone that you bring. Embark is attached to Lagoner farms, where they get batches of their many different varietals. They are currently selling peaches and blueberries used for their Blueberry Peach cider. The interior has nice wooden tables, a good sized bar, and a cute little shop with some produce, flowers, a bakery, some kitsch-y stuff, their ciders in cans and bottles, and local products (like Gugliemo's sauce, etc). They have a full service kitchen with burgers, salads and wraps, flatbreads, tacos, charcuterie, and other appetizers. We went for the giant pretzel for $14, that comes with two containers of dijon mustard, and two with cheese. We struggled to finish it, and skipped dinner that night. This could be easily split between 3-4 (as the menu said, but we wanted to see for ourselves). We both got flights (5 different 4 oz pours for $10), so that we could try almost all of them. They came in cute little cider glasses in a proper flight handle. The bartenders were great about numbering the ones we chose on our paper, and then putting them in a sequence that made sense from dry to sweet. Here were my notes: Old Marauder- kind of bland The Pippin-Very Sour American Heirloom-Delicious, and classic Hopped Cider- This was probably one of my favorites, the hops and sweetness had a great balance. Blueberry Peach- I was surprised because I had high hopes, but it wasn't stand out. Strawberry Rhubarb- You could smell it strongly right away, this was delicious Imperial Blizzard- Like drinking cider flavored Kool Aid Tart Cherry Bourbon Barrel Aged- I was pleasantly surprised with this one, it was a little tart but sweet at the same time. Crab Series-This one was a well balanced out cider that I enjoyed. *If you don't like cider, don't run away yet! They have two or three pages of their menu full of different craft beers, and you can get beer flights too. They had Founders, Victory, Allagash, Three Heads, Stillwater, Stoneyard, Swiftwater, and the list goes on. They also had a nice selection of local wines from Dr. Konstantin Frank, Glenora, and a few others. Embark does wine flights 4 for $10. Lastly, you can get cocktails. They had spirits from Black Button, and offered Moscow Mules, Gin and Tonics, Snakebites, and a few other mixed drinks. I like that they are a master at the cider business, but still cater to a large group of people. On Wednesdays they do Geeks who Drink Pub Trivia, and it was pretty poppin'. Although there were a lot of people, the servers did a great job hustling around, and remained very personable. I wished they were closer, but I would be willing to hike out to Williamson again in the fall.

Cute cidery! I went after a night out with friends and it was a nice evening set up. Bar was open but the store was not. I want to come back to shop around because they sell 1000 Islands River Rat Cheese. They had live music and it was very good. There were people dancing and having a great time. You could tell this place new their locals. My boyfriend and I tried four ciders that the bar tenders recommended. All were delicious. We also ordered a pretzle. This thing was huge and served with the best dipping sauces. I wish this place was closer to home so I could go more often!

Stopped in briefly while on the "Christmas Around the World" Lake Ontario Wine Trail tour/event. They've got about a third of a cute country store that's filled with candy and other treats (pro-tip-their homemade macaroons are to die for!) The staff seemed a little disorganized as far as the event was concerned, but they had by far the biggest selection of ciders I've probably ever seen. I counted at least 20 on tap that were exclusively theirs, and everything that we tried was delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more and some food!

My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!

My uncles and aunts who live nearby had never heard of it but we decided to give it a shot. Upon arriving, the small parking lot area was full. Uh oh. We asked about sitting outside and she said we could BUT we probably wouldn't get good service. (It appeared there were only 2 waitresses doing it all.)
