I have been here many times.still looks the same. Went for dinner. They aways have fresh items onthere salad bar. I did not car for the beef barly soup.it as rather tastless, grease or faty broth. They always have fresh bread and there were 2 kinds of crackers for the soup. My husband had prime rib. I had a special. Shrimp, chicken pasta spinach. I did have to add salt. Black pepper, grated cheese and crushed red pepper to make it better. But even so, I would of recommend it. Fresh. The shrimp was perfect not over cooked same as the chicken and pasta. Delish. It was lightly battered but even that help up to the next day. Leftovers went down well. Tasted like more! I think they called it some sort of florenten dish. I only had a cold beer so I can not speak of any of the other choices that they may have had. I went with the thoughts of trying some German food but I was happy with my dinner chioice. This is a place off the beaten path. Well seasoned, has been around for many years. Use you GPS and head toward Sodus. Enjoy

Steger Haus is a real gem! All 3 of us had the broiled scallops, and they were PERFECTLY cooked! They were delicious! The salad bar was fresh, and the service was excellent. They seemed busy, but our meals were timely and hot. Will definitely return!

Great food and a good price. Their prime rib is really special. A little out of the way, but worth the drive.

Always a good meal. Love the fresh salads, breads, and soup bar. Everyone enjoyed their meals this last visit, and even had a few leftovers.

Wednesday night is prime rib night. It is right out of the oven and delicious. The portion is hefty and the price is right.

Beware that if you do not have an amazing experience and leave an honest review, she will probably harass you too and expect you to retract your review because she apologizes, yet is defensive and argumentative in the same breath.**** Planned to have dinner here with my Uncles and Aunts while in town. They raved about how wonderful eating out on the deck was. Inside was all wood, like the hall of a ship and rather dark in my opinion. I know it's unfortunate but we walked up to the hostess stand and the girl informed us that the fryer and the grill top were not working. We asked what were our options and she handed us a waitress slip with *maybe* 10 items on it including soup, salad and kid pizza. BUT what irked me more than their equipment being in disrepair was the hostess's attitude. My Uncle thanked her for letting us know and she had some reply like, "Yeah, why wouldn't I tell you?" Very strange. Not a simple "You're welcome." Or "Sorry for the inconvenience." I know it's not like the restaurant WANTED their equipment to fail but I think they should train their hostess on better customer service. I do have to say that the woman working in the gift shop was LOVELY. She suggested another restaurant for us to go to (The Franklin House) and even NOT recommending another suggestion (savings us from another potential restaurant fail.) So perhaps this place *could be* good but I will never know.

Still a great place . Food is good, bartenders are great and when it's not snowing superbread more

The restaurant is also available to get to by boat as the site also hosts a marina with slips for both transient boats and seasonal slip rentals. My wife was given a gift card for Skippers for her birthday, and over the weekend, we decided to go use it. It's situated somewhat in a residential neighborhood with a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We were sat right away. It was an early dinner for us, around 4PM. There were a couple other tables sat, but the restaurant was mostly open. We asked for an outdoor seat and were brought right back. The inside of the restaurant is large with 2 floors and was very dark inside. We were given our menus. Took a bit for our server to get to us, but no big deal. I ordered the risotto with chicken and a virgin pina colada while my wife got the lobster stuffed haddock with a drink special. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I always appreciate a restaurant that offers mocktails. Again, not a ton of tables sat, but it took a bit for us to get our food. Luckily, it was a beautiful day to just sit and look out onto the water. Our food was brought over and we got to it. Portions were large, but we both felt the food was just okay. My risotto had very little flavor, and the chicken was completely unseasoned. My wife said her food was fine, but the onion rings were the stand out of her meal. Our gift card was for $80 and our 2 meals and drinks came to $86. Our server was very friendly, but the service was slow for the amount of people there. Beautiful view on the outside patio, but for us, that was the best part of the experience.

Cute crab shack ambience, it's a hot spot so order or arrive before the dinner crowd. My first visit was a Saturday around 6 and it was crowded and not a seat to be had! All the seafood platters being served looked amazing, so I knew I was in the right spot! I was greeted as I approached the counter and was assisted with my take out and recommended popular party sack combinations. I ordered #3 which includes a lobster tail, one cluster or 1/2 lb snow crab, 1/2 lb shrimp (I recommend requesting Head Off!) a piece of corn, and 2-3 potatoes. I chose Cajun seasoning and, very hot spice. Warning you best be a very spicy hot lover, it was challenging but loved it!
