I went with a friend during lunch hour on a Tuesday. Cute place. There was only one other couple there besides us. I ordered a beer battered fish and chips. My friend ordered the same but added a coke with her meal. It was the worst fish fry I've ever gotten!!!! It was over done but the worse part was the batter. It was so incredibly salty that I wanted to send it back but didn't have time. My friend agreed too. So we just doused it ketchup and tarter sauce so we could eat it. The logical thing to do would be to peel off the layer of batter. But we had trouble discerning between what was fish and what was batter because the pieces came in 4 small pieces. And my friend didn't get her drink until the endvof the meal. We weren't charged for that. read more

My boyfriend and i were out in area so we decided to stop here. They opened late first off. Once in and seated, we ordered Shepards Pie and Irish Beef stew . To our disappointment the food was microwaved and looked like mush. We were hoping for some comfort food on this cold day. Which isn't what we got. The staff was friendly, but the food was not so great for the price we paid. They do bring bread to the table which was a nice touch. They have a decent wine and beer selection. We had the pork potstickers and they were over-fried and the pork was very gamey. The shepherd's pie was just browned beef with what tasted like frozen mixed veggies and a couple of scoops of mashed potatoes on top - not a lot of flavor. They need to try a little harder to make this a true shepherd's pie. The chicken parmesan was okay. The chicken breast was good, baked with cheese but the sauce was very bland. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try for their fish fry. The owners and staff were stellar and the food was equally as good. So much so that we decided to go back for dinner again on Saturday night! The French Onion Soup was the best I've ever had and their wings are to die for. We came here on the opening weekend and it was completely different. So if you were here before and didn't like it. Come back it's better. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was very good on a Chabatta roll. Served with fries. It was great and would highly recommend it. My wife had the raviolis and they were good too! Also father in law was nice enough to share his pretzel bites with me. They were good perfect amount of salt and very tasty. They have a nice selection of craft beer which surprised me. My sisters family lives in Williamson and every time we visit them we drive by Copper Ale House. We've talked about trying it many times and today was the day! We wish had gone sooner. From the moment we walked in the ambience was perfect! Neat old siding door at the entrance. Brick walls. Fully stocked bar. A faux fire place that felt so cozy! The Abraham Lincoln on the men's room door! Loved every detail! Our server Patty was so friendly with each and every one of us including the kids (even though her parked car had been driven into yesterday so we knew she was dealing with a lot behind the scenes.) Very patient as the kids ordered their own dishes. When our burgers came out we were so impressed. Served in gorgeous big ciabatta rolls and topped with onion rings. YUM! So delicious! The shrimp scampi and eggplant Parmesan looked excellent and the others in our party enjoyed them. Soup special was really tasty. Stopped for a late lunch on Friday. Special was fish. We all ordered the fish fry. It was Haddock. Beer batter. Absolutely delicious. A very large portion too. The fries, although not hand cut, were as good as frozen potatoes could be. The cole slaw was fresh and tasty. I asked for a side of cocktail sauce, and it was fresh made with very powerful horseradish. Delicious. Our server was efficient, personable, and friendly. This was our first visit to the Copper Ale House in Williamson. The restaurant was not busy and the service was prompt. The food was not fair, at best. The salads were fresh but our entrees were very disappointing. The eggplant Parmesan coating was burned and almost black- only edible by removing the burned outside coating. The tomato sauce was very acidic and left me with a terrible case of heartburn. So disappointed with this first visit... not sure if we will return for a second trip. read more

The food here is very good. My mother has enjoyed the Cooper Reuben several times. She raves about it each time. I tried a bite and the flavors are really good together...corned beef, coleslaw, thousand island dressing, Swiss cheese, and a great piece of rye bread. I tried the black and blue steak sandwich. The sandwich section says that the sandwiches are served on s fresh baked roll. I was slightly disappointed when my sandwich arrived minus any bread. I ordered the steak medium rare because I assumed it would be over cooked because of the size. I was correct it was medium to medium well. The melted blue cheese and onion rings on top added great flavor to the steak. Their fries are cooked well...mostly crispy. The water glass is tiny. If I'm ordering just water to drink might I suggest a pint glass. read more

Has an old, cigarette smell as you walk in. And the food is not good. It's one of very few places to eat in Wayne County, which is why we gave it a try. The bar area looked ok and well stocked. The decor is kind of cute. The owner keeps a good watch over things, our server, Kate, was awesome. BUT the food is terrible. 2 in our party had the chicken and biscuits. The chicken and gravy was flavorless and the biscuits tasted like the pre-made frozen variety. If you can't turn out a decent rolled biscuit, at least make drop biscuits. I had a Ceasars salad drowned in dressing. Less is more when it comes to dressing. My husband had salmon, which was way over cooked. If I could tell the owner anything, it would be to hire a chef and not a cook. Good food covers a multitude of other shortcomings. You could absolutely get people coming in droves if your food was better. Sadly, we won't be back until you do. read more

Good restaurant in my tiny little home town that just opened this week! The atmosphere is casual and we definitely liked the ambience! The food was good, typical. I had a good chicken Caesar salad and hubby had a pretty good burger! My mom suffers from celiac disease and specified to our waitress she had an allergy, and got no bun for her chicken parm sandwich. However, it came with a bun, and when she reiterated that she couldn't have any wheat, they brought it back out 20 seconds later with no bun - obviously just taking it off doesn't help the fact that her chicken had bread touching it! I think they will work out the kinks and last, it did take a bit to be seated and get drinks and food! Hope they make it! read more
