The bartender and staff were so fun at Franklin House! They made us feel like locals. Food was tasty too. Make sure to get the wings and the onion rings. Wish we had more time, we would have went again!

Food and service excellent. A little noisy at times but it is a bar/restaurant. Pizza and entrees are always good.

We really enjoyed our food. Extremely energetic atmosphere. For us, a bit too loud inside, but outside is great!

And claims since I didn't actually get to eat there, I shouldn't be able to voice my experience. Beware that if you do not have an amazing experience and leave an honest review, she will probably harass you too and expect you to retract your review because she apologizes, yet is defensive and argumentative in the same breath.**** Planned to have dinner here with my Uncles and Aunts while in town. They raved about how wonderful eating out on the deck was. Inside was all wood, like the hall of a ship and rather dark in my opinion. I know it's unfortunate but we walked up to the hostess stand and the girl informed us that the fryer and the grill top were not working. We asked what were our options and she handed us a waitress slip with *maybe* 10 items on it including soup, salad and kid pizza. BUT what irked me more than their equipment being in disrepair was the hostess's attitude. My Uncle thanked her for letting us know and she had some reply like, "Yeah, why wouldn't I tell you?" Very strange. Not a simple "You're welcome." Or "Sorry for the inconvenience." I know it's not like the restaurant WANTED their equipment to fail but I think they should train their hostess on better customer service. I do have to say that the woman working in the gift shop was LOVELY. She suggested another restaurant for us to go to (The Franklin House) and even NOT recommending another suggestion (savings us from another potential restaurant fail.) So perhaps this place *could be* good but I will never know.

Lauren was our server and was super friendly, though she was apparently new-ish, which showed in some of our orders not being quite right. Everything was also pretty slow and the timing of dishes coming out wasn't uniform. Pizza was fine, but could've been hotter and a bit more crisp on the crust. Wings were good, but not the type we ordered. The half order of nachos was crazy big and just ok, flavor-wise. With limited options at the point, it's fine, but temper your expectations.

The restaurant is known for its wood-fired menu that blends American cuisine with creative twists and influences. My wife and I live somewhat close to Sodus Point and had been meaning to go out to take a little day trip. Her co-workers actually gave her a gift card for Six50, so we decided it'd be a perfect opportunity to go out for a nice day and try out the restaurant. The reviews were concerning, but hey, we weren't paying for it anyway. We ended up there around 1PM on a Saturday. Sodus Point is very much a touristy-beach-boat town, the streets are lined with restaurants and historical landmarks while the beach and bay surrounds the little village. While there were plenty of people around, there was still plenty of close, open, free parking on the streets, and we were able to park only a couple minute walk from the restaurant. There were only a couple occupied tables and we were sat pretty immediately at an outside table when we walked in, although we were told we'd have to wait a couple minutes until our server got back to the restaurant, but we didn't ask exactly what that meant. When our server did show, which wasn't long after, we already had our order decided. One of Six50s things is that everything is wood fired and there are no deep fryers at the restaurant - they even have a sign out front saying so - so we chose an order of their wood fired chicken wings in their "dynamic duo" sauce, a combination of buffalo and garlic parmesan. My wife ordered a Mount Vesuvius pizza, while I chose the Adriano pizza. Our wings came out first relatively quickly, and while they were cooked very well, the sauce had 0 flavor. Most of it slipped right off the wings onto the plate, but even when we rolled them around, the flavor just wasn't there. They say everything including their sauces are home made, so while the wing sauce wasn't great, we did enjoy their (assuming) home made bleu cheese. We waited for a long time for our pizzas, around another 40 minutes AFTER we received our wings. At a busy restaurant, wouldn't have thought anything of it, but there were maybe 3 other tables sat with us in the restaurant, so it seemed like a long time. The pizzas were surprisingly not bad - we felt they had both pros and cons. The pros being there were plenty of toppings, good flavor, and one pizza is probably enough for 2 people. The cons being, while there were plenty of toppings, there was very little cheese. That, and both my wife and I had slices that were completely burned from the wood fire, and didn't even have any toppings on them anymore. Our server was friendly and attentive when we needed it. We had a $65 gift card and only owed $5 after it for 2 pizzas, an order of wings, and a fancy drink for my wife, and we brought home pretty much an entire third pizza form the left overs, so not a bad value. My only other complaints were that there was a broken lock on the one person men's room door, which they were aware of because they had a sign on it saying to please knock first, and while there's beautiful views on the outside patio of the bay, it'd be a much nicer experience out there if they cleaned it. The barrier that's up between the tables and the bay was just absolutely COVERED in cobwebs, as were the string of lights they had hung overhead. Overall, it was not as bad as the other reviews had me believing it would be, but it also didn't impress us either. It was an edible, mostly enjoyable meal, but nothing that really stood out and makes me want to return.

The menu is always structured the same, with some appetizers, smaller / sharable selections, and 'full sized' entrees. BAO Buns are always on the top of the starters, two buns with something interesting, fish, chicken, shrimp, etc. They are excellent and I think 95% of the time I'll start with a Bao Bun. Next section is BITS, either sharable appetizer or meals if you're a light eater. The Fried Cauliflower is a favorite, as are the crispy Thai Wings. Caesar Salad is a favorite and it is excellent. BIGS, more conventionally sized entrees, will have a few standards: Smash Burger, some variety of a Bowl, a (always excellent) pasta and something fish. Desserts are simple and house made. They offer a good wine / cocktail selection including good mocktails. Anorah is a small venue. It is worth a visit, and if you are at all local, you'll return. I live 1/2 hour away, and drive by lots of other establishments to visit Anorah.
