Connie's is everything you want in a traditional diner! Breakfast Selection: Excellent options / tons of sides / everything was perfectly cooked I had the chili omelet, and it was to-die-for! They said the corned beef hash was homemade but I'm a little skeptical of that claim. Either way, it was grilled perfectly and went amazingly well with the omelet. Service / Staff: Impeccable. Everyone seems to enjoy working there and working with the customers. I don't think I saw any of the waitresses stop for a moment and the bus boys seemed to be bringing out clean dishes every other minute. The place runs like a top. If you're in the area-this is a must stop for any meal of the day! We had a hot meatloaf sandwich and tuna melt followed by homemade cherry pie and homemade banana cream pie on our first stop (yesterday). We were so impressed with the atmosphere, staff and food that we came back today for breakfast and it didn't disappoint! The best omelette I've ever had and pancakes, bacon and homemade home fries for my husband. Good place for down home comfort food. Everything is homemade. The fried pickles come with a Boom Boom aye that is delicious - spicy. Try the milkshakes. 6 different flavors that can be customized. The chocolate brownie come with chocolate milkshake, brownie with homemade whipped cream and a chocolate sprinkle coating on the glass. Yes it is cash only but don't let that stop you from trying this place out. Good, cheap, eats in a old style diner, complete with faded pictures and drawings of movie, television & music stars on the walls. Yes the interior is bright, orange and teal, but the jukebox controls on the tables didn't work (but a nice touch). We both had omelets that were big, fluffy and tasty. The coffee is continuously refilled, I had to say no more to the coffee many times since I was jittery enough. Only bad point was they are closed on Mondays and we wanted to go back! read more

3.5 stars This is a really cute place. Nothing fancy as far as food or decor but our waitress was a doll and called us honey the whole time. :) It's a throwback with solid greasy-spoon type food. Went to Connie's on Tuesday night. My daughter & I came to Seneca Falls from Canada and were having a hard time finding somewhere to eat that wasn't pizza! I loved the 50s feeling as soon as we entered. The food was very good - I just had a cheeseburger & fries and my daughter had a Caesar salad in hopes of having room for dessert. Not a chance of that ... and all those homemade pies looked delicious. The only negative, which I'd have known if I'd read the reviews on here, was the "cash only" policy. My Canadian debit card wouldn't have worked in the ATM & I didn't bring much US cash with me. But at least the prices were more than reasonable enough not to use up all of our $$. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. I have NEVER been to Connies before. I was driving through Waterloo and happened to see that they were open and like to support local businesses and small diners. I placed an order and arrived to pick it up. I noticed there was a cash only sign on the door. Not realizing this, because I have never been and would have been a first time customer, I was disappointed and promptly contacted the restaurant to cancel my order. I politely explained that I was unable to pick up my order and cancelled. They called me back a few minutes later and explained that they would call THE POLICE if I didn't pick up my order. Obviously shocked and embarrassed I explained that I didn't have any cash and was unable to withdraw money from my debit card. I would have never placed the order if I thought I was going to be unable to pay. It was a simple and honest mistake. Having been a former member of the food service industry, I respect what you do and would never waste your time or resources with intent. I explained I would gladly pay if they could accept a credit card. They called the owner because otherwise they were going to CALL THE POLICE because I canceled my order. Ultimately they told me that "it's fine but for future orders we are cash only". Don't worry Connies. There will NEVER be a future order. By the way, your staff told me that it says "cash only" on the website. Not only is it not marked on the homepage of your website or the menu, it's not listed on your google or Facebook either. We stopped here for brunch on the way to Geneva for a Sunday night wedding. It happened to be Memorial Day Sunday and that's when I discovered that Waterloo is the birthplace of Memorial day! We went to a spectacular car classic shoW and a fabulous farmers market ... but back to the diner. Best diner ever hands-down! And we come from Long Island the land of many diners. Our brunch was amazing! I had one of the best omelettes I've ever had and my husband loved the pancakes. We also shared their homemade corned beef hash which was so very good!! We got there just in time because 15 minutes later there was a line out the door. I can't wait to return to Connie's and I think we will try to go back there next memorial day weekend because what a fun place to celebrate he holiday! read more

Came here for brunch after a friend's wedding, and it was exactly what we all needed after a night of partying. I got an omelette AND onion rings, and only spent like $12. INSANE. I ordered my food over the phone. Showed up on my lunch break (Im from out of the area and was only in town for a few hours) and no one bothered to tell me they were cash only. Waited 10 minutes for the atm to process only to find out it was broken. I could not pay for my food so I went inside to explain to someone and I couldn't get a waitress to look at me. I already wasted my lunch break for nothing and had to go back to work. The owner had the audacity to harass me the rest of the day with countless phone calls until I picked up and he threatened to call the police on me. Total asshole. We got the kids grilled cheese with fries (split between two kids). My wife and I got the turkey on Texas toast with cheese and bacon melt. Everything was filling and we got really full. This place is an awesome diner with great homecooked food for a ridiculously low price. The atmosphere is cute and most of the waitresses are really nice! They have great service and you can eat for $4-7 a person! Can't beat that! I eat here at least once a week... absolutely love it. They have a ton of different desserts which are excellent and the menu has plenty of variety for picky eaters. The only downside is that they only take cash. read more

I was really excited to stop for breakfast here but our experience, unfortunately, was not great at all. Firstly its cash only which is such an inconvenience but they had an ATM. Then our elderly waitress was super rude walking up to our table and saying "what do you want" as the first interaction and had to get so close to my face to hear my order it was uncomfortable. Then I asked to subsitute my french fries that came with my meal for mozz sticks in which she said yes for a fee and I agreed expecting a dollar or two more added on. Our bill comes and it's like $28.00 for two entrees, with all these random charges on it. The mozz sticks were charged as a full appetizer. The waitress's writing was so illegible we couldn't make out the other several charges. Then we had to ask her to go get change for us like she was expecting us to leave her $40. Her attitude and incompetence ruined the visit for us. Sorry, we will not be back we dont like getting ripped off. read more

Coming from NJ, I know what a diner should be. This diner is a quaint little place with decent food at good prices. The place is charming and has the nostalgic 50's feel. I dont know how old it actually is, but the 50's theme doesnt feel forced or contrived...it's totally conceivable that its been decorated that way since the ACTUAL 50's. Coming from NJ, I also had reverse sticker shock...I couldnt believe the prices were so low! 5 of us at breakfast for a grand total of $36! I'm 31. My mom waitressed here when she was in her late teens. Food is consistently good and I love the restaurant atmosphere. Authentic! I'm never stuffed, but I've liked everything I've ordered. I don't like pie, but they have lots of pies. The downside: way too many people waiting and THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS!! I know of two places that don't take credit cards and both are in Waterloo.
