Came here while passing through as they had some breakfast for dinner options. The decor is really cool and looks like a classic diner from the 50s. They have juke boxes on the table and the metal stools at the counter. The food, however, doesn't compliment the decor in terms of quality. The onion rings were made without and seasoning and with very thin onions. The homefries had water throw on them after being cooked for a not so desirable taste. The onions that came on the side of a plate tasted like they had been sitting cut up for hours. The coffee wasn't all that great either. With some modifications, the food here could be good, but it falls short for now. read more

I stopped at Connie's for y usual French toast again. I've been eating their French toast for years. It's like sleeping with mid 90s Pamela Anderson over and over. I get older, and she stays the same: magnificent. If Connie's was a women, I'd take her out for a fine meal and maybe down to the ice rink for a romantic skate. Then, I'd drop her off with a goodbye kiss and a promise of what's to come. You got to take it slow with Connie. She's the one. She's in it for the long haul. read more

After a not-so-great experience at a different restaurant the night before (Abigail's), we were anxious to try another spot for breakfast. First of all, this diner had such fun decor! I loved the booths (orange/teal). They played 50's music, with little jukeboxes at each table. They had 45's lining the diner, along with celebrity photos and other 50's memorabilia. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food came out really fast too. I ordered an egg & ham sandwich on an english muffin, along with home fries. The english muffin was big, lots of ham, egg, and cheese! The home fries were fantastic. I'm a fan of any potato, especially served as part of breakfast. The home fries were similar to hashbrowns, except slices of potato instead of shredded potato. My husband ordered the corned beef hash, and the egg special. He said the corned beef hash would've been perfect if it didn't have onion in it, which he doesn't like. It was a good even mix of hash & corned beef, neither overpowering the other. I tried it and it did have great flavor, but you have to like onions otherwise you'll be disappointed. We all loved our meals & ate every bite. The total came to $22.42 for the 4 of us! What a steal! If we ever pass through again, we will definitely stop by Connie's Diner! read more

We were in the area and stopped for lunch. Everything was delicious! You can't beat the prices and portions. I had the turkey melt on Texas toast with cheese and bacon, best turkey melt I've had in a long time! We were so impressed with the food that we went back the next morning for breakfast! Had breakfast this weekend, early Sunday AM. Had noticed that the place was packed driving by on Friday night. Good food, I had 2 eggs over easy, homemade corned beef hash, and raisin bread toast. Wife had 2 eggs over easy, sausage patty, home fries (vs. potato 'cake', a la Mickey D's); daughter #1 had 2 eggs over easy, bacon, toast; daughter #2 had bacon, cheese, & spinach omelet along w/ a side of bacon (she loves bacon) and home fries. Omelet was huge, took almost the entire plate. Home fries are very good, great crunch to them w/out being burnt. My raisin break toast was a little on the burnt side. My corned beef was was good, but heavy on the onions and light on the corned beef. Cash only, no credit or checks. They have an ATM in the foyer (but I'm sure it's one w/ a huge service fee). $30 for breakfast for four, incl tip. Service was fast and pleasant, bottomless coffee. read more

My family of four had dinnr there. Teen son had the Garbage Plate, it was great. Had two burger patties,fries,pasta salad, and spicy chili gravy! I had the chicken filet plate, two chicken breasts fried, homefries, and coleslaw. Granny had fried shrimp-12 and fries and salad. My daughter had the chicken parm. Huge chicken breast and fries, salad. . Granny was the only one who finished. Way more food than we could eat! Price was good. The iced tea was even good. Good service, was worth the full tip . This is my favorite diner that I have EVER eaten at - and I've been to a lot of diners. I've been going to this diner since I was as young as 4 years old, and for good reason. The food is amazing, the service is fast, and the waitresses are very friendly. It's a cute venue and the décor is great. To make note though - they do not accept cards, but there is an ATM when you first walk in. I got the French toast. It was pretty tasty and a really great price for the amount of food you get. The reason I didn't rate higher was because of sanitary issues. They put "fresh" silverware on our table in front of us, but the silverware was wet and covered in food debris. Also, I could tell that they made the French toast in the same grease as the bacon and sausage they make here because the French toast had a distinct meaty taste. Connie's Diner is everything you would think of about a classic diner. Basic American fare, served cheaply, in abundance, with friendly but curt service. This is a numbers game and it's all about turnover in tables. Had a great steak and eggs for $9.00 (IIRC) and was stuffed by the end of the meal. Sure it isn't the best steak I ever had, but you sure as heck don't get that much food in NYC. Note to visitors, this is a seat yourself establishment, it's very busy in the mornings so make sure you get there earlier if you don't want to wait. read more

If Yelp had a 2.5 rating I'd apply that to Connie's. My boyfriend had a breakfast there on 8/13/14. The food was okay it felt more like cafeteria quality vs what you'd expect from a diner with a high amount of traffic. (We'd tried to have dinner there the night before. However there was a rather substantial line of people and what appeared to be no attempt from the staff to make it any shorter.) The service was okay also and I felt after we order our food very little attention was paid to us. If you're looking for a quick breakfast I'd recommend Tim Horton 's down the road because for me Connie's was just okay. read more

We are here visiting from Reno NV and we were told that Connies is the place to go for breakfast. When we first walked in I was excited to try it because I thought that by how busy it was that this place really lived up to the great reviews on yelp and the recommendations from friends. I love the tables, they remind me of the old movies, which is exactly what they are going for. All of them also have a coat/hat hanger which is convenient. The place is pretty clean though I didn't use the restroom so I can't speak for that. So theres the good.... moving on.. We weren't greeted at the door for about 5 minutes and theres no sign suggesting to seat yourself or otherwise so we just stood there waiting patiently. The frazzled waitress told us it wouldn't be much longer. We were happy to be acknowledged and we were fine waiting. Then about two minutes later she came back and said hecticly "Not Much Longer!" with a worried look. We asked eachother, "do we look impatient??" And just shrugged it off. Finally she came back about 5 minutes after and said we could sit at this table that people just sat up from and she'd come back to clean it. So we sat at a nasty syrupy table with dirty silverware, plates and napkins for about 5 minutes. The waitress never grabbed her tip which enjoyed our entire breakfast with us. I ordered connies classic with over medium eggs and a cup of coffee. I was so disappointed with everything. No wait.. That's not true.. the homefries and the rye toast were pretty good. My bacon was a greasy floppy mess and had a very off flavor. My eggs were super runny and the coffee was lacking flavor. The waitresses were bland and rushy, and I also had the pleasure of witnessing one of them use her pen as a q-tip in her ear right over people eating.... and the cashier was also lacking a personality and didnt say a word to us until i spoke to her. It would have been nice to hear something like, "i hope you enjoyed your meal," or , "how was everything today?" But i guess i appreciate how upfront they are with their total lack of care for what the customers think. I don't understand everyone's desire with this place. If I ever come to this area again I will definitely not come to this diner. So sad. read more

Came to Connie's for lunch whilst here on Business! Hotel recommended only pizza joints, found Connie's on Yelp and glad I did! It's a 1950's themed diner! What more can you say! The waitress (pregnant and glowing) was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm currently on a veg stint so only had 2 options: lasagna and a wrap. Visited around 10:30 am on Thursday 14/7/2016, with my 3 sisters & grandmother. It was VERY busy, yet we received our food quickly. I ordered a broccoli & spinach omelet, which I was disappointed by - the veggies were very obviously previously frozen & I had to douse the thing in Frank's just to eat it. But the homefries were incredible, so I guess that balances out. Adorable atmosphere & awesome service, just bummed by the omelet. read more

I love this place. I love the atmosphere and the service. I have been twice now. I love the fried pickles and I had a fish fry. Second time, I ordered chicken fingers. Everything is fried to perfection and they have a great selection. My only negative thing to say is that the "homemade" desserts could use help. I think PART of them is made in store and I will tell you why. First time I ordered coconut cream pie to share with my daughter. The crust (on this and the next one I ordered) as bland, very pale and seriously lacked salt. The filling had a strange texture that reminded me of shortening. It was thick and almost greasy and I NEVER say things are not sweet enough, but it could use some sugar. Next I ordered a lemon meringue on my second visit to share with my husband and daughter. The meringue was wonderful and I know you must make that from scratch, but the crust sucked and the filling was EXACTLY the same as a hostess lemon pie.. It was clear, thick and artificial. I think it is safe to say it was canned and assembled in store with homemade meringue. So, I will skip the pies. We will try breakfast next! read more

By far the worst diner I've ever been to in my life. I ordered the French toast and it literally tasted like soggy bread. To make matters worse, I asked for an order of strawberries on the side and the waitress comes back with a red liquid dish (that by the way was not strawberries) and probably came out of a can. It was honestly the nastiest thing ever so I sent it back. I guess that's what you get for a $4.99 "French toast." I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you want an order of eggs since that's the only thing that looked halfway decent when observing other people's food. read more
