I was so happy to be getting solar panels. I always like being part of the solution, rather than the problem. The manager of the project told me to be sure to turn off my computers and other sensitive devices, as there would be possible power surges in the process of installing the system. Unfortunately, he didn't tell me to UNPLUG the devices. I turned off my older desktop computer, but after the installation, I could not turn it on! I was devastated -- so much of my life was on that computer, and so many important files and programs. I was hoping against hope that even though the computer was fried, perhaps the hard drive was untouched. I found CGS on line, and brought my old computer in -- sure enough, Matthew determined that the hard drive was in good shape even though the computer was toast. So ..if PayPal sends you a money request in your email and then you check your PayPal and there is a request to deny it but also on the note it says call them if this amount isn't right. Stupid me called the number on the notes instead of looking on PayPal itself for a number smhhhh so of course I got hacked. Do not call that number and download anything they tell you!! And shut down your computer right away if you know you're being hacked. Any ways I was scared they would have all my password info so I hurried to check yelp to see if I can find a place that would help me get rid of those scamming a-holes. Do not go anywhere else for all of your computer needs! They do so much more then just computer and network repair. I needed help early I called and they answered right away. I was able to come in as soon as they opened. It was a simple fix! I told him I had a business and I was looking for a different IT guy since my old one was always busy. My experience was so noteworthy I've already recommended his services to a friend. My 10 year- old hard drive crashed. As the CPU was heavy to carry, he came to my car and carried it upstairs. For the most part, I thought this place was really decent and was worth the money, considering it's really difficult to find a good computer repairman in the city of Fullerton. So, I've heard about Computer Genius Solutions (CGS), via yelp and some buddies of mine, and decided to check it out after finding out that my laptop had some serious issues in starting up. However, one of the things that bothered me was finding this place; unfortunately, CGS is not called as it is, because when I was driving down the road, we saw a sign written: "cell phones and electronics", which we took a wild guess that this was the place, considering the area was an industrial neighborhood with some nail salons and workshop suppliers. To the owners, it would kind of help if you put up the storefront sign with the name written here and on your site, because it was pretty hectic finding it (as a matter of fact, I had to use my GPS to find the store when I was only 1 block away). Anyhow, I went into the shop and was greeted by a really young guy who really seemed to know what he was doing and explained clearly what the issue was and what it was they can do to solve the problem; I ended up paying $85 for a laptop screen that went black, but it really was worth the money, considering how quick the service was and how friendly and diligent the staff was. However, there was one thing that kind of bugged me when talking to them. It seemed to me that they liked to estimate a lot of things. Not challenging their capabilities in electronic repair, but for some reason, they really like to say the words, "There's a [x]% chance that [doing this] will fix the problem." Sounds harmless, but when they make up some intricate numbers like 85% or 55% chance that my laptop would work, it almost sounds like they're a bit unsure of what they're doing. Fortunately, I was proven wrong about them being too unsure, but for the record, when they do mention things like this, it makes me kind of worried that the problem is more severe than it is. On the bright side though, they did have a policy that if they couldn't fix the problem, then customers don't have to pay a dime. In a long run, I would most definitely recommend these guys if anyone had some problems with their pc or cellphone. read more

My custom built computer from 6 years ago was giving me some trouble with the ol' blue screen of death. I did some trouble shooting myself and was pretty sure it was the hard drive, but wasn't 100%. So I decided to take it into the shop. I'm usually very skeptical when it comes to computer repair shops. I've been to a few that were very shady and would charge you an arm and a leg for literally nothing. Come to find out these guys aren't like that, they do what they do because they enjoy helping people. We hooked my computer up in their office and within a few minutes he confirmed it was the hard drive. I asked, what do I owe for the assistance, he said they don't charge for little things like this and was just happy to help.
