My experience with Computer Genius Solutions was above and beyond, from start to finish. Right off the bat, I appreciated the updated COVID-19 information from the business here on its Yelp page. I called to inquire about how I could spend as little time inside the store as possible, and Carlos (the owner), picked up right away. He not only heard my concerns, but was friendly and proactive about offering solutions without any judgment. He suggested that I simply text him all the information I would normally write onto the paperwork, and he would fill out the forms for me. Then, all I had to do was go to his store and drop off my device, a laptop with a bulging lithium ion battery. He also suggested meeting me at my car, so I wouldn't even have to go into the store at all. Everything went as planned. Carlos, wearing his mask, met me outside and took the laptop, and I went home. Just 45 minutes later, he called to tell me that indeed my battery needed replacement, so he had gone ahead and done it with the new battery that I had also provided him. Payment was done over the phone, so all I had to do was meet him outside the store again for him to hand me the laptop back. He'd even already disinfected it. I know I might sound a bit paranoid, but I really appreciate Carlos just doing everything he could to make me feel comfortable, and didn't seem at all bothered by it. He worked fast, and his price was fair, especially considering all the care he showed me. I asked him for tips on how to avoid battery issues again and he was patient and kind in answering me. I custom built my computer and it has been acting up lately so I decided to just pay extra money to get it fixed by someone professional. I looked on yelp and found great reviews on Carlos so I decided to give him a call. He was here for an hour and performed many tests to see the status of my computer. Everything looked okay and all we did was plug in the monitor cable to a different socket in my pc. In the end, he didn't fix the problem and I basically paid $85 for the hour he was here because he goes by hourly. Carlos is great and he knows his stuff. He moves (and talks) fast as well but I'm just disappointed I still had to pay so much when he told me "nothing is wrong with my computer". He told me he would come back and take a look at it for free but ended up never coming around. I should've just asked one of my friends to take a look at it instead. read more

I swung by here to ask about my Chromebook getting fixed. It's in the second floor suite 224 you might get a little lost but can find it. Keep in mind a lot of their jobs are off site so I would recommend calling in first. I was assured someone was going to meet me shortly. After a little while i was greeted by this really nice guy (forgot his name gahh :( ) anywho he was super helpful and very honest. He helped me out by saying fixing my Chromebook was going to cost me more than what it was worth and I really appreciated that. He did let me know there was affordable laptops they sold, but I did not feel pressured by him at all. He gave me some cool pens and merch just for my visit. Customer service so good! Bare with me, I don't want to skip any details and my grammar is horrible. Let me start at the beginning: there was a loud taping sound coming from underneath the key board of my Mac book pro, so being a normal human being I panicked over one of my favorite possessions. Because of the time of day I immediately called all the places near by that were still open, finally with no luck after multiple attempted calls I gave it one more shot and called computer genius Solutions and they were also about to close in 10 minutes also, BUT! On hearing my dilemma CARLOS the owner of the company not only assured me that he would stay open to help me But assured me that if it was something simple like a loose screw he wouldn't charge me! (Warning)Finding the right door with carlos behind it was a bit confusing because it's many different businesses operating out of the same building. once I found the right door the man inside was genuinely a friendly guy willing to help me out. carlos was even teaching me how to remove the screws from my lap top correctly without stripping them incase I decided to do it myself as well as summarized quickly for me what the main inside parts do, how those parts lock in and how those parts can become loose, while he was explaining about the parts, a small piece of plastic popped out from inside the laptop. The small piece had been hitting the keys and echoing in the frame work. Carlos Double checked for more plastic pieces then re screwed the bottom of my laptop back on and just like that my problem was solved. Seeing my older year Mac book Pro, carlos asked me if I needed any other parts like black grips that come on the bottom or letter keys of any sort and I replied, I do need one of the black grippers and the screen has a small crack in it. He told me he had a spare MacBook Pro in my exact year that he was using for parts and insisted I take it to revamp my laptop. When it came to finish the transaction he refused to take my money, assuring me it was a simple problem and I was doing him a favor by taking the parts. There Is subtle difference between nice and genuinely caring, small as it may be I could defiantly tell this man cared about my laptop and that i had a relaxed, informative experience. We recently had to move our business which had been in the same location for almost 40 years. We also needed to update an antiquated computer system that was not meeting our needs. The wife and I owned two outdated laptops which we rarely used because of how slow they were. One of the laptops we never used because the charger went out. This was the laptop that had most of our photos and important info. At one point we placed all of our information on an external hard drive. Long story short, the external hard drive took a sh*t. I sought out a computer repair store and found Computer Genius Solutions. I explained my situation to Carlos and he was eager to help me out. He agreed to look at my external hard drive to see if he could retrieve any of my information from it. He accommodated my busy work schedule and allowed me to drop off the hard drive after hours. He advised me ahead of time that he would only charge me if he was able to retrieve and export the data. Unfortunately the hard drive really took a sh*t and he was unable to retrieve the information. Even after spending quality time attempting to retrieve my data, he still did not charge me. He even shipped my hard drive back to me free of charge. Honest good workers are hard to find in today's word and I expressed my thanks. I then expressed my interest in getting a new computer or laptop. Carlos met with my wife and I to determined our needs. We later purchased a new PC that he custom built for us. He purchased a new charger for one of my laptops and transferred all of the data from the two laptops onto my new PC. The wife and I could not be happier with our new PC and all the software he included. We also have way better equipment running in our PC then you usually find at bestbuy. They go over and beyond what a lot of other techs out there do. There have been multiple times that they have come out for a simple fix and charged nothing. They are very professional and courteous. Carlos diagnosed my computer right away. It had been running extremely slowly and email was hit or miss. It would take forever to go from website to website. Right away he found it didn't have a virus but probably was interrupted during a Windows update (Windows 7). I left my computer with him. He took my Windows off and added a professional version. There wee some bugs with the operating system at first but he came to the house to pick up my laptop in the pouring rain and took it back to the shop to re-install. After that I was back in business with a computer that works like new. Matthew, Carlos' son is also very good at what he does.
