My Nintendo Switch wasn't displaying on the screen when it was docked, so I brought it in with Michael, and he was very thorough in explaining what the issue could be. He tested the charging port and found that there were bad connections, so he replaced the port. It still didn't display, he immediately knew what was wrong and stated that it was a chip that needed to be replaced. My switch now displays on the dock and runs perfectly fine. This was all done the same day and for a great price. It was incredibly difficult to find a shop that would repair a modded switch, but Michael got it done with no problem. The owner of the shop basically had to rebuild the power supply with sourced parts since finding a replacement power supply didn't exist anymore. I cannot recommend this place enough for fast, professional, affordable service!! Michael is the absolute best! My MacBook Air wouldn't power on and a trip to the Apple Store proved useless. They referred me to a mail in service that could recover my data but it was going to cost a fortune. I took it to a shop in Costa Mesa and they quoted an $85 assessment fee and then $500+ for repair. I called a few other repair shops around OC and got quotes for $500, $800, even $1,200 (all of which was not worth it for an older laptop valued at less than that). I eventually stumbled upon Luxe Tech Repairs on Yelp and Michael was very friendly on the phone. He offered a free assessment and I took it in immediately. Within about 2 hours he called to tell me it was fixable and had it fixed by the next day (less than 24 hours after I had dropped it off). I was just looking to recover my data and recycle the laptop, as that was what the Apple Store and other shops made it seem like was my best outcome. Luckily Michael got it fully working again and no data was lost! And it cost less than half of what the other places had quoted me! Michael was very nice and professional and explained what he had fixed. He even showed me some of the internal components for a nice visual. They fix iPhones, tablets and gaming consoles too. I hardly ever leave Yelp reviews and I'm always weary of these type of places because I never know if I'm going to get ripped off. My PS5 was shutting off after a couple hours of use. Well, let me reassure you, Michael is a professional and more importantly a good guy. He explained what was going on with the PS5, why it was shutting off, and showed me some pictures of the inside of other PS5s that had the same problem. It's appointment only, but I didn't know that and walked in and he was super cool and nice enough to work on it and have it fixed iall in the same day. And the price reasonable. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in all relevant aspects of software and hardware, and he also specializes in complex electronic board and screen repairs, which most shops won't touch. My wife's 4-year-old laptop died unexpectedly, and Mike was able to move all data over and reestablish bootup from the same hard-disk image, while taking care of driver updates and magically working around significant changes in the laptop architecture and bios. I wanted to share my mom's experience with Mike and Luxe Tech Repair within the last month. With the holiday season around the corner, obviously the energy around the house gets hectic, and there's a lot of things to plan for and do. We have a salt water pool that has required a higher amount of maintenance as of late. It was early one morning sometime before Christmas that my mom needed to check something in the pool. Usually, when we maintain the pool, we leave our phones on the patio table just in case. But on this specific day, my mom needed to check something quickly, and without realizing it, leaned a bit too far. Her phone slipped out of her jacket pocket and into the pool. She quickly retrieved it, and dried it off quickly. Within the first half hour, everything seemed fine. The phone was still functioning as normal. But after that, things started going wrong; the key pad wasn't working, then the screen started to glitch. Before long, the screen darkened completely, but the phone was still on. We couldn't turn it off. Our first thought was to put it in rice and go to the AT&T store. There wasn't much they could do there, so we googled the nearest repair shops, then decided to head to CPR Cell Phone Repair. There we talked to Phoenix, who said he would take a look, but with the current state of the phone, and the fact that our pool was salt water, he said it wasn't looking good. The best he said he could do was try and salvage the storage and memory in order to get my mom's necessary data out; the screen was looking toast. Phoenix worked at it for a few days, and gave us some calls to update us, but there were some confusing messages. He said the motherboard was corroded, but he was able to get the screen working. Then he said they couldn't do it. It looked like the power unit was fried; they had been able to turn it on once, but couldn't again after that. My mom was persistent though, and didn't think about giving up yet. My mom went to the AT&T store to get a new phone in the interim, and mentioned her damaged phone. They actually recommended Mike at Luxe Tech Repairs, as they had very good experiences with him. From what I heard from my mom, Mike was not only more professional and more knowledgeable than CPR, he also didn't charge a diagnostic fee like they did. He not only knew how to fix things superficially, he had deep understanding of the hardware. Even though Mike was the only present employee at Luxe at the time, his turnaround was very fast, and he was able to tell my mom exactly what he could and couldn't do. Within hours of my mom dropping off the phone, he had called us back and told us that he could fix it. Mike even took a picture to show that CPR didn't clean the phone well enough, and that there were corroded parts that could have been salvaged. We wish we had went to Mike first the moment my mom fished her phone out of the pool. Losing your phone during the holidays is no joke, especially since my mom loves the holidays and the plans around them. A little bit of kindness and care go a long ways; in times of stress, doubly so. I really have to thank Mike for putting my mom's mind at ease so she could enjoy her holiday season with nothing to worry about. We will recommend Mike to anyone.
