Great shop. Great service. Great prices. If you need a bike or parts/service check these guys out!!! Fraser T. Upland CA

This shop is great, but do not buy from Mark. He does not keep promises. He keeps ensuring that he'll get things figured out and continues to say he'll call, yet he never does. Jeff, on the other hand, is professional, informative and efficient. Just being honest ... read more

Ordered my 7 Axiom SL from Mark. Bike turned out awesome and feels like a perfect fit. However, what sets Mark apart was when my frame arrived after hours and instead of sending me home with it, he looked me in the eyes and said we're going to get this done (mind you, this was a day after he got food poisoning!). Mark and James stayed over 2 hours past closing time to finish up my bike since they knew how anxious I was to ride it. They sure didn't disappoint. I don't know many business owners out there who would have offered that kind of service. Thanks Mark and James, you guys are awesome and I'd recommend your shop without any reservations! read more

You know you are doing a good job when you can upsell a customer without much effort but just by giving them the information needed to make an informed decision and then have them leave happy and satisfied with the product and customer service received. Thank you Andrew. Appreciate the help yesterday evening right before closing. read more

We found this place when we were looking for a bike for my daughter. We got a cruiser at a decent price. About a week later, we took our other 2 bikes in for tune-ups. They did a good job (although they sort of made fun of our old bikes, but they were pretty cool about it). About a month later, the cruiser we bought there had a funny thing happen - the seat bent all the way back while my daughter was riding it! The stem actually bent! We took it in, and they called Electra and got us a replacement seat at no charge. Yes, it was what they should do - but they actually did it! (and with no complaining). They thought it was funny too, and had never seen anything like it. I will say that one of the employees is sort of a bummer - he can't really hear, or see, and he doesn't smile or anything. But then, none of us are perfect. I think the repair guys are great - they have even done a couple of quick adjustments for me at no charge. read more

I just would like to say Thank you to these guys who stood a little longer after closing to me help get a bike for my son's birthday. I knew/know nothing about what makes a good bike.. I only knew the color of the bike and wheels. My son was absolutely surprised and loved the bike! I forgot the gentlemens name.. But thank you so much for putting the bike in the car for me. Staff was super friendly and nice considering I walked in 5 minutes til closing... I never felt rushed about making a decision on the bike. read more

I had a lot of questions and all questions were answered. I needed to get back and shape and rehab due to injuries, I knew low impact exercise would be best for me. So I decided to get a bike and found the perfect bike for myself at this bike shop. read more

Favorite bike shop in town. Andrew and the guys are great! Very friendly and very knowledgeable. Love stopping by here every time.

Very helpful and patient. Staff answers all questions and takes time with the customer. Great customer service will be a lifelong customer!

I've been into downhill biking/all mountain biking for about 6 years now, I've dealt with a lot of bike shops at this point. I'd say definitely go here. The guys are friendly, ultra informative, and won't waste your time: for example selling you a cheap intertube only for it to pop after 1 ride (other places did this to me like 4x in a row before I learned). I brought a used bike in I just purchased and the guys literally took an hour explaining everything I'd need to know about the bike for free. Super chill, super friendly, just good people. Leaving a tip for good service is always appreciated to these guys too. Peace! read more

Great bike shop & very friendly. This is the only shop I return to. Keep up the good work guys!

Excellent place! My boyfriend needed a bike to ride at work (law enforcement-no not a security guard lol). After some research online and at a few local shops, Competitive Edge Cyclery was the most honest and helpful. Jeff and Hannah were super helpful and knowledgeable. Their service was extremely accommodating. They were so down to earth and not pushy "sales people" at all! They encouraged taking the bike out for a spin in the parking lot and I ended up testing out a beach cruiser also! We ended up taking home a Roam home that day-WITH a new seat because they had an excellent deal going on. They also do free tune ups for 2 years. read more

I have been buying bikes from and receiving service from Competitive Edge Cyclery since 2002. They have consistently impressed me with their competence and their dedication to fixing my bike with expertise and in the most inexpensive way possible to get the job appropriately accomplished. I deeply appreciate their ethical approach to business and I highly recommend them for all of your bike needs. If they don't have the particular bike you want, order it through them as they will treat you fairly from start to finish. read more

I needed a tire for my bike and we went here cause it had the best reviews and I can see why the gentleman that was helping us was very kind got us what we needed and was very polite. The part I like the most is since I like to ride my bike on trails I am always looking for a good one, and the gentleman that helped us knew his trails cause he told me about some, some I've already went on and new ones. This is over all the best bike store I've been in and for someone who likes to ride I've been in quite a few of them. If you have never been here you should try it cause you won't go anywhere else after you have been here read more

Great service, I've been there only a couple of times but both of them I was very satisfied. Very friendly crew. I think I am going to start going them more often. read more

Thank you very much Mark and team. Your professionalism, knowledge, and friendly demeanor made the purchase of a bike a very smooth process. I came all the way up from San Diego because of your reputation and the excellent job Competitive Edge does. I am very pleased with the Felt F2 I just purchased. Well done! read more

This shop has generously helped me out numerous times! Everyone who works here is always answering questions and helping out with what concerns or problems I have. This is the only bike shop I will shop at because of how they all treat there customers. Everyone at this store seems to ride, but doesn't have a snoody attitude that I have seen from other shops... I would defintently recommend this shop read more

best customer service in the business, honest and reliable

My experience here started out pretty good. The guy in the back who works on the bikes is nice but I forget his name. Anyway, I bought a bike here 2 years ago after stopping in a couple times. I wanted to buy a nice bike within reason on the price. I knew the bikes I was looking at were in the $800-$900 range and was ready to buy. I went in and the skinny white guy, I think he's the owner, sold me a Cannondale that I thought was nice. There was another for $50 more but he recommended the one I got because they already had my size. I didn't like the guys attitude much once he started barking orders at the guy in the back and treating him like he was an idiot but I let it ride because I liked the bike and was already in the process. One of the additional times i came in the store to pick up accessories I mentioned I bought a bike there and when and told the skinny white guy that it was a Cannondale CAAD8... he said oh yeah, the blue one that's a good bike and I said no the black and white one... the guy laughed under his breathe, like oh you bought that. Yeah I bought it because this piece of crap sold it to me and is now making fun of it. What a dirtbag. By the way, I was in uniform each time I went in the place, United States Army. On top of it, it turned out the bike I got had a stripped threading where I wanted to mount a waterbottle holder. I was so pissed off at the guy I didn't want to go back. Screw this place, except for the guy in the back. read more

My husband and I are new owners of two electric bikes we bought in San Diego. Sunday afternoon I noticed I had a flat tire so I called the shop we bought them from to find out what it should cost to fix the flat. They told me to call around because many bike shops do not like to work on electric bikes and that it should cost $5.00 to $10.00. The first shop I called told me it would be $30.00! I then called Competitive Edge and they said it would be $5.00. I went by late Sunday afternoon (4:50 pm) to see if they would be able to fix the tire because we had planned to ride to breakfast the next morning. I did not have the bike with me but they told me they would wait for me to go get it . They closed at 5:00 but were happy to stay after their closing time to fix the tire. Jeff and Steven both worked quickly to fix the flat so we could make our Monday morning breakfast date! I am very grateful they were willing to stay late and I highly recommend Competitive Edge. read more

I purchased a women's mountain bike from a separate big chain retailer who also assembled the bike after it was delivered. I stopped by the Competitive Edge Cyclery Rancho Cucamonga store to ask some basic questions on the new bike and I needed some minor adjustment to the bike's handlebar after I fell off it while riding. Jeff was extremely gracious in answering all my questions and concerns. Even though I had purchased the bike from the other retailer and that retailer had assembled it, Jeff still took the time to look at my bike thoroughly to make sure the other retailer did a good job in the assembly. After looking at it, he found that my seat also needed adjustments in the way it was set up, to increase my comfort level while riding. He fixed both without any hesitation and did so complimentary. Before I left, he had me take a ride around the parking lot just to make sure the bike was now secure. I was extremely appreciative of his assistance as well as the level of customer service I received. He also gave me a couple additional riding and safety tips to ensure my bike will last as long as possible. I will definitely be coming back for any and all future issues I may have. Thank you Jeff and your team for great customer service. read more

I was having problems with another local bike shop with my mountain bike and ended up with a bike that was supposedly unfixable. Extremely disappointed in my experience I took my bike to Mark and James at Competitive edge thinking it a long shot they could get my bike fixed. I had been told that the problem was the bike was too old and the problem too difficult to identify at the previous shop. Within five minutes at Competitive edge Mark had tentatively identified the problems and asked me to leave the bike overnight. The next afternoon he had called and asked me to take it up in the mountains and give it a try. The bike ran smoothly and I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the cost of the repair was. The staff at this store is very knowledgeable , courteous and friendly. I would recommend Competitive edge to others and I will definitely make this my go to for my family's mountain bike needs. Thanks guys read more
