The owners son has a really horrible attitude. He asked me if he could help me, and i said yes, so i asked him a question and he had the worse attitude and some really smart ass answers. I was with my wife so she kept me pretty calm. I wont be buying anything there anymore. read more

First time here and the gentleman that attended me was polite and courteous. Family owned since 1909 and that to me is awesome!

Love their expertise! Ebikes are now working great!! Price is reasonable and staff are knowledgeable!

Very rude service from one employee, I still gave him my business regardless. As I paid he made a rude comment to me in which I said I will never be back, he followed as I was outside leaving screaming and cursing towards me saying, you have no F*en reason to come back. Sadly in front of my daughter. read more

We bought 2 e-bikes about 4 weeks ago. We are so happy with our bikes which are AMIA Big Sur and happy with this bike store. Lloyd was informative and patient as my husband and I rode different bikes and gathered info. If you're shopping for bikes you should check out Bumstead's they've been in business for many, many years. We wanted a storefront to buy our e-bikes from and we are so happy we bought them from Bumstead's. read more

I have a large and high quality vintage racing bike collection--I ride 531 and Columbus steel lugged bikes--and I bring my bikes to Lloyd at Bumstead's as he is one of the very few in the entire Inland Empire who can fix my steeds. He can replace cotter pins, deal with threaded headsets, build traditional wheelsets, trim friction derailleurs, and almost everything else. And remember, Lloyd was selling electric bikes before the boom, so he can fix anything from 1940 to today. Best of all Lloyd and the staff are all great people. And fwiw repair costs are very very reasonable. read more

So I brought this mountain bike that I've had for years in the garage I took off all the gears and been meaning to make it a single speed or a fixie because this bike is super light!!! And the young man told me he couldn't do it??? Even though I brought a 10 speed in about five years ago and they made it into a fixie for me??? I was pretty crushed and found it odd??? I've had this bike in the garage at least five years and I've been meaning to get on this bike and tear it up for a while they usually do just about anything I thought?? So I went to Competitive Cyclery up on foothill and they hooked me up So I guess I'll just continue to keep going there and spend more money.... read more

I needed to determine the right size of my bike's seatpost. The manufacturer had specified 30.9, but we couldn't fit that size more than about an inch or two. The bike came with a 29.8 and a small shim near the top where it gets clamped. Bumpstead mechanic determined that is the best we can do, since it was a 25 year old bike. I appreciate the friendly atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff. read more

We had returned months later and test rode a bike. Still not friendly a place.

Bumstead's Bicycles provided great customer service, awesome bike selections, great test ride opportunities and a thorough education on the bikes we chose. Bumstead's is family owned and we found out the owner has been a staple in the community for years. They were so patient! I am so happy we were able to support their small business so close to home. One of our first rides after purchasing the bikes was back to the shop to have some accessories added. We take good care of our bikes with regular maintenance and I'm glad they're close enough to have them take care of the bikes for us. read more

This review is long overdue, and for that, I do apologize to the owner of Bumstead. I took my bike about a year ago for a basic turn-up and some other minor adjustments. I should add that my bike is a costly road bike. Nonetheless, my bike had to stay there a little while, as other customers were ahead of me. An unforeseen accident happened to my bike while in the car of Bumstead. When I saw my bike, you can imagine my disbelief and that of the owners. These things do happen and are sometimes outside our control. I will say this: the shop owner went far and above to make things right. You won't find this quality in many people these days. I've moved to LA and find myself too far to be a return customer, but if you're in his area, I suggest supporting his business. The shop feels like a community, and the guys working there are always eager to help. Thanks again, Bumstead. Keep the fun between your legs ‍ read more

Needed to take my bike in after it dragged behind my car on the freeway a few miles. (Rachet strap broke) I was told to take it here..... so I drove the 63 miles one way..... left my bike and I was pleasantly surprised when they called a week later to tell me my bike was ready. Well.... Drove the 63 miles to go pick up my bike and brought it home. I road it a few days later and it rides great. Reasonable prices and great service Thank you! read more

We bought 2 Aventon e bikes. Lloyd's shop IS the oldest Schwinn Shop, of course Schwinn is ONLY a name. No longer of the Chicago fame. Just another stamp on the imported bicycles transported from the orient. Anyway they still operate like an "old school" bicycle dealer, you know "brick and mortar" Lloyd was there but Frank was our salesman. Very knowledgeable and been in and around bicycles for decades. I think collectively between Lloyd and Frank there's almost a century of experience. Not many places you can get THAT! Our Aventon aventure e bikes are sooo nice! Aventon ebikes you can order online BUT the dealership experience is priceless. Aventon should only deliver their bikes via dealers, to control quality/warranty issues. Saving "a couple bucks" and avoiding dealers will/may impact the brand, and consumer experience. Besides, how else are you going to test ride a bike. It could cost manufactures in lawsuits when an inexperienced DIYer assembles a bike and has an incident. (I guess the CPSC doesn't exist) Bottom line BUY at Bumstead's!!! Your bicycle will function/ride as it's supposed to, and you wheels won't fall off read more

This is the best bike shop to come to. I came in a little over a month ago with an idea to build my old Cannondale bike from scratch. Lloyd and his staff guided and assisted me with the process. When I went in this bike shop I was super nervous because I barely had bought my first bike used 30 min prior and I had no knowledge on bikes and wanted to make sure everything was okay. I spent the next hour adding things to my bike which Lloyd was more than happy to put on my bike for me right then and there with no complaints as to how many things I was asking for or how long it was taking. Service is the best I've ever had in any retail store ever and you'll not be disappointed by their quality of service if you decide to get or service a bike here read more

6/27/2020 Drove to Ontario Mills and stopped by Bumstead's after checking out bike shops nearby via Yelp. I live in Glendale and have gone to a couple of local bike shops for bottom bracket upgrade. The people here in Glendale were not straightforward to deal with as they tried to sell me things that I did not need. They also wanted me to bring my bike to their store so they can install the part for me and of course, for an extra fee! The nice gentleman who helped me at Bumstead's today was so easy to deal with. He did not haggle and he even gave he helpful advice on how to upgrade my bottom bracket! The price of the bottom bracket is much lower here too! Thank you so much for your honest and friendly service! read more
