I can't recommend this bike shop enough! Prices are very fair, and the customer service is what really sets them apart. Greg and Diana are incredibly friendly and honest people. As someone who's new to cycling, finding a shop I can trust was the most important thing to me. Greg has answered all of my questions and gives honest advice. My bike is currently in for a tune-up, and this is already my second bringing my bike there. They've definitely earned a loyal customer in me. read more

I've been going to Greg for about 8 years now. Hands down the best and most honest bicycle mechanic and shop in the area. Unbeatable quality, service and knowledge. Prices are very reasonable and Greg never upsells. Highly recommended! read more

Amazing service took my e-bike to him fixed with a minimal fee definitely 5 stars. Greg was very efficient and polite best service I've seen

Great service and prices. We have been having them maintain all of the mechanical "bike" components of our ebikes.

After years of taking our bikes to some of the big name shops, we found Greg. Greg has been an amazing mechanic and has been able to help us maintain our bikes at very reasonable prices. More recently, Greg has helped up build a road bike from the frame up. If you are looking for an honest person who is expert level and reasonable, reach out to Greg and he will take great care of you. Additionally, support a small, local business! read more

I've been coming to this place since 2017 for all my mountain bike needs. Greg is very friendly and processional, his experience with repairing and modifying bikes is tremendous. I can't trust anyone else with my expensive toys. I always left his shop with a smile to my ears knowing that my bike is better than ever. I always come by for the regular tune ups and he always delivered on time, even sometimes I had emergencies and he came to my house to fix it. I definitely recommend him you won't be disappointed. read more

A good business and excellent customer service. Have a bike that was about to get junked because of chain issues and no brakes. The owner was amazing. Only took an hour in his mobile shop to replace the chain, fix the brakes, realign the wheels and get me back a safe, reliable 2007 Rock Hopper. Thank you. read more

The Local Bikestand - Refurbished 2007 Rock Hopper by The Local Bike Stand. - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me - Pomona, California

Greg at local bike stand is great to work with. I made the mistake of buying my wife a full suspension mountain bike online. It arrived partially assembled and Greg did the final assembly for me. The bike was assembled perfectly but it turned out the bike is too heavy and the tires are too wide, so I needed to ship it back. Greg worked with us and helped me to disassemble the bike and fit it into an appropriate box for shipment. A tough lesson to learn... And I will lose some money on returning this bike, but I'd rather get something that's a better fit for my wife. My recommendation, don't go for the online bike orders, work with your local bike shop, Greg in particular. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are very reasonable as well. I will definitely be back for future tune- ups. read more

Great place to get your bike fixed. Cool little place, definitely recommend if you need a bike or to get one fixed.

I first found out about The Local Bike Stand back in September of 2021 here on yelp and I had a bent chain due to a dropped chain, requiring a new one. When other shops were closed, this one was open for business and ready to assist me. Fast forward to the end of January '22, I sustained a nasty crash in my new carbon road bike. The non-drivetrain side of the chainstay had cracked and I was absolutely devastated. I remembered the prompt, courteous service I received from Greg back in September and decided to call to find out if they could assess my bike. After brief inspection and tapping the carbon frame for inconsistency, it was evident that the cracked area required repair. I was quoted 4-5 weeks for the carbon repair to be done by another carbon repair shop they were familiar with in LA. Greg and Scott took care of completely disassembling the bike and shipping only the frame so that repairs could be done. Greg kept in touch with me regarding the type of paint job I wanted after repair was done. I went back and forth between clear coat and black, ultimately deciding I wanted to go with black since my bike has a black/white theme. I am very, very pleased with the way the bike came back from the shop. Greg and Scott did an excellent job building my bike up together again with quick and reasonable turnaround time. I had also asked for components to be swapped once I had arrived and they both got to work with no questions asked. Overall, I am very pleased with the service from The Local Bike Stand and I cannot recommend them enough for your bike repair needs ! read more

Another exemplary job done by Greg. Had some problems with my stock Cannondale wheels, Greg was honest and told me what to look for in a new set. He wrote out my wheel measurements and we both agreed upon a set of Hunt Aero Alloy rims. They offered performance without breaking my bank account. I went ahead, ordered them online and had him install them, was able to book an appointment about 3 days ahead. He was able to get the job done in under an hour. He also fixed my 10 year old sons bike (wobbly tire). Great work, and he let me watch as he explained every step of the wheel swap process. Will definitely book for any future bike work. read more

We have had some varied experiences with local bike shops from shameless up-selling to outright lies. Before I was going to have my ebikes serviced there, I went over and took a look and was impressed with the organization and the owner, Greg. Yesterday I took our Ebikes over for installation of new seatposts, seats and rear rack. Greg Alex promptly this afternoon and told us about a problem with one of the bikes from having lived through a rear end collision while it was on the bike rack. Explanation was clear, concise and the solution was offered. So far, very impressed..... read more

I have used several different bike repair shops, and I also try to do a lot of the standard repair and maintenance on my own. Today I had the opportunity to try out this mobile service. As you can see from my 5 stars, I was impressed. Greg was timely, knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. As he worked, he took the time to answer my questions regarding process and methods, what he was doing and why. His willingness to share information was really nice. I would absolutely use him again and I highly recommend his services for convenience and timeliness. read more

Because of the backed up service of all the local bike shops, I decided to try out The Local Bikestand. Greg got back to me quickly and we scheduled a time for him to pop by my home. He's very communicative via messenger and it turns out he was able to see me a couple days earlier which was great! Greg is very professional and very timely. I explained to him my issue and he took my bike into his van. About 40 minutes later, it was done. Shifting is perfect! I'll be using him again due to the convenience and timely manner fixing my bike issues. read more

I really liked my experience with this business. I don't have a car so having a mobile bike repair guy come to fix my bike was super convenient. I got two estimates from other nearby bike shops in Upland and Claremont and they were 20-50% higher than what I was charged with this dude. Really nice guy. Reasonable prices and he didn't up-sell me on anything else. I was afraid that after he finished the repair on my bike that I would get hit with extra unknown costs but he charged me what we discussed initially. I really like that. I will definitely hire him again and recommend for anyone in the Claremont, La Verne, Upland, and North Pomona area. Other likes: he was on time, easy to set appointment, easy transaction, and honest. read more

I took my bike there for a tune up and to have them check out the chain, sprockets, gears, and brakes. They did a great job on the tune up, even fixing things that most other places would probably charge for. My gears were a little off in the back and making noise and they got those adjusted. The chain and sprockets didn't need replacing and it was nice that instead of just doing it and charging me, they were honest and told me they were fine. And lastly, they made the adjustments needed for my brakes so that they are working in peak form. They even cleaned up the areas of the bike that were caked with dirt, grease, and who knows what. You have a loyal customer now and I've mentioned you to a few friends that have bikes and live in the area. read more
