Chicken pillard

My fiancé and I came here last night and it was delicious! Our waiter let us know that the restaurant just redid their menu - so we were excited! Both dishes were delicious. We also shared the French fry Caesar salad - which was amazing. We chose to sit outside because it was pretty loud inside, and it was the perfect setting! I would definitely go back.

This was our first experience at the Community Table and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door and taken to a quiet section in the back. The ambience was coastal and very comfortable. I would like to have seen a few more vegetarian sandwich or wrap options on the lunch menu but they do offer several salad and soup choices. They had three mocktail choices. However, the one I chose they weren't serving at this point so I wasn't able to evaluate it. For this trip, I chose a turkey sandwich and they were very polite about removing items that I asked to remove such as no cheese, no bacon and no mayonnaise. The food came out reasonably fast, and the only issue was soggy fries. The sandwich was good, but the fries made it a lot of work. We will definitely give them another opportunity and see how they do on their dinner menu.

A gorgeous and quiant Charlestonian restaurant in the Ion neighborhood. Staff is friendly and helpful. Came here for lunch and they have a well balanced menu of sandwiches, salads and soup. They even had non-alcoholic mixed drinks. I had the winter salad and my hubby had the turkey club (requested with cheese, bacon or mayo). My salad was the perfect size and not overly dressed. My hubby loved his sandwich, but the fries were not crispy. Should have been twice fried. Definitely will come here again!

Big fan. Here's everything I ate: Calamari, Greek Salad, Jumbo Crab Cake, Tomato Panzanella, Chicken Paillard, and Key Lime Pie The crab cake was the show stopper of the starters and the chicken paillard was delicious and a large portion, I ended up sharing. Absolutely love this place and can't wait to come back. My only disappointment was that I wanted a dipped Oreo and they were out.

We've been here 3 times in the last several weeks. Our best experience was sitting at a table where we had a server with a deep NY accent. He was very entertaining and provided excellent service. We sat at an outside table near a heat lamp which made for a very cozy outdoor experience. We started with the Ricotta Toast and the seared Tuna appetizer. Both were amazing. The Ricotta Toast had great fresh toppings to include sweet potatoes. So good. And the tuna had a very delectable sauce that was the perfect umami experience. We've also tried the crab cake (ok) and the Potato Pave Carbonara (very tasty). For the main course we shared the Spicy Sausage Rigatoni which was also delicious. The other couple of times we came in for Happy Hour at the bar. We had a good time although the bar team doesn't seem to really flow... the male bartender makes excellent hand-crafted drinks though. Our favorites are the Lemon Ginger Martini, the Mt P G&T, and the Kentucky Tea !!

Beautiful dining area. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu had many options! All were so delicious! Highly recommend the burger and carbonara appetizer!

Update: It was my first time coming to community table in several years and we came for lunch. What a treat, just as I remember, attentive, staff, beautiful space and delicious house made dishes. We sat here for hours because it was so inviting and relaxing. The dining room is spacious, and they really have beautiful beachy vibe decor. Parking is no issue, plenty of spaces on the street and up at the side of the restaurant. We did not need to make reservations. it's obviously too hot to sit outside, but they also have an indoor patio that you can use. They have tables big enough for 8 to 10 people or tables for 2. we had such a fun time and I will definitely return sooner rather than later.

Cocktails!

On a perfect weather Saturday afternoon a friend and I headed to Mt P to check out Community Table for brunch. We sat at one of the outside tables. After ordering my first cocktail I recognized the cocktails looked familiar. The waitress let me know that Kiki and Rye was party of the Community Table restaurant family and had some of the same cocktails. Knowing I like the Nancy Paloma I switched to that for cocktail number two. :-) For food we decided to share the cheddar and ale fondue and the shrimp po'boy. When we ordered the fondue I was anticipating the red pot with the forks. Instead we got a warm bowl of cheese. HELLO who doesn't love a warm bowl of cheese? We both agreed the polenta fries was the best dipper. When the crispy shrimp po'boy came out they served it already split and on individual plates for each of us. I love love love when a restaurant does that. The sandwich was the perfect size with lots of delicious ingredients that made it messy in a good way to eat. I wish I would have asked for extra pickled green tomato remoulade to make it messier. :). The I'ON area of Mt P where this restaurant is located is so quant and peaceful. If you find yourself in the area and the weather is playing nice enjoy some food and drinks on their outdoor seating.

We were setted promptly and given a great waiter-Chris. He was accommodating. He made a few recommendations/ favorites of his own. The food came out fast and was very good. Everything was seasoned and hot. The ambiance was one of a seafood establishment. The seating and environment was just fine. We really picked a great location to eat.

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

For food, I tried the fried catfish entree and Green apple-cauliflower soup. Both dishes were good. The fish was very tender and juicy. The butter bean succutash, which I never had before, contained butter beans, black eyed peas, corns, green and red peppers and red onions. It was delicious but since beans are of high FODMAP, I only had a little. The fish was topped with tomato jam made with crushed tomatoes, onions and sugar. It was served chilled. Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. A bit too salty for me. The service was kinda slow, except that food came out in reasonable amoutn of time **after I placed the order**, that is, I waited quite a while to order my food. The same for doing the check. I guess it was because there were not many staff at lunchtime, and most of them were senior thus could move as fast as young ppl.

Great place for late night eats towards the end of the week…read more Service was great, very nice people. I would suggest ordering online as everything is made fresh so it takes some time. Ordered lemonade, but was told after I had already paid that there was no more. Had to get either a fruit punch or a grape punch. The fruit punch tasted like Kool-Aid in the best way possible! Full of sugar though ha. Also ordered hot honey chicken wings. They were sweet and sticky with a nice heat kick to them. Chicken wings were perfectly fried and crispy despite being covered in sauce. No indoor seating, only a small two-person bench. Forgot to take a picture of the wings, but will be trying again!

When I saw chopped cheese on the menu (a NY staple) in Charleston I had to go check this place out…read more It was 10 at night and not much else was open but they had good reviews so I was excited. It's a takeout only spot where everything is made to order so it takes at least 45 mins. The order stations (2 iPads) weren't working so the chef took our order. She proceeded to tell us that they were out of most items like they usually are at this time of night (about 10:15 now) even though they don't close until 2a (interesting that's a usual occurrence but no adjustments have been made). We ordered a jerk chicken platter, and a honey garlic chicken platter which looked delicious! Upon closer examination the honey garlic platter was mostly rice, some chicken and random green peppers for $25. However, the flavor of the chicken was pretty good. The jerk platter was mostly chicken, however, it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot I could only take a few bites. It was all pepper, no flavor. I love spice, but it completely blew my palate out to the point I couldn't taste anything else. I mean nose running, sinus clearing, hot! My partner couldn't stand one bite of it, so I had to throw the entire platter away. The worst part was the next day my friend noticed a random $12 charge come out of their account from the restaurant. They left a cash tip so they were very surprised to see the unauthorized charge to their card. They tried to get ahold of the business, but the phone just rings and rings. So we ended up going in person. The two business owners found the transaction and extra charge right away, but were looking at it on different computers and exchanging weird glances with each other. After about 15 mins the one man told the woman to give the $12 in cash. It was a small amount, but it's the principle. The fact that it happened and neither of them knew how was very sus. It all felt very icky. I do not recommend and would never return. 0/10

While we were out walking on King Street, a local recommended Stella's, and I'm so glad they did. We walked over from our Airbnb and immediately loved the space. The restaurant has two U-shaped bars in the center, which is my husband and my favorite place to sit when dining out. We went in with zero expectations and hadn't even looked at the menu beforehand, but everything ended up being incredible. The drinks were fantastic, and our bartender/server was so sweet. Even though we were one of the last couples seated that evening, we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy the meal at our own pace. We ordered the non-breaded calamari and a shrimp dish, and the calamari was honestly the best I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and the artichokes that came with it were so delicious. Every bite made me happy. We finished with the tiramisu, which our bartender recommended, and it was absolutely outstanding--easily the best tiramisu I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about this meal and would come back in a heartbeat the next time I'm in Charleston.

We were surprised when we walked in and the bar was actually low, with low, spinny bar seats. But it actually was pretty unique and fun! Our server was excellent and gave us great recommendations. We started with the Stella's Kalamari that had sun-dried tomatoes, capers, and artichoke hearts. It was very flavorful and delicious. Something to keep in mind here is that the portions are pretty large. Perfect for splitting dishes and a lot of food for your buck. The stand out dish for me was the spanakopita. It's a flaky, crispy pastry with spinach and feta inside that you dip in tzatziki. What's not to love about all of that?? We splurged a bit on our entree and split the braised lamb shank. The lamb itself was pretty good, but what I enjoyed most was the pasta it comes with. I would maybe suggest trying a different entree. It wasn't my favorite, but it was good. For drinks I got the Cretan, which had cucumber infused gin, lime, rosemary and thyme. It was so refreshing and just what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to others!
