The phone message still advertises Prime Rib on Wednesday night and we were all looking forward to that but were told they no longer offer it. The food was good, since there were 8 of us we had a variety of dishes. Service was good, a mixup with the checks but was quickly fixed. All of the employees were friendly and seemed happy! Is something wrong with open table? 2. Called restaurant. After long message about how to make a reservation, I left a message asking if anything was available for tonight (5pm). Never received a call back. 3. Decided to stop by regardless and if truly full we'd fo somewhere else. Arrived 6:30 - very empty restaurant. Told hosttess, that there might be a reservation issue 4. Seated and ordered drinks with first waitress. Drinks arrived quickly but had to get up and ask if anyone was ever going to take our order. 5. Another waiter came out. Took order. Salads came out quickly. Entree 30* minutes never arrived. 6. Had to ask again about food and service 7. I came here years ago for brunch. Went again with a group from East Cooper Woman's group dinner club. There was myself and husband and 2 other couples. We got there 15 minutes early knowing we would have to find parking. We were unexpectedly seated right away and off to a good start! Water was pored and we were told our waitress would be with us soon. 15-minutes later we were still waiting for our waitress when the rest of our party joined. They settled in and still now waitress 30-minutes in. At 35-minutes we finally were asked if we wanted a drink, and pushing us to order at the same time. Table was beautifully set but missing several small plates and one place setting which we had to ask for as popovers were placed. All drinks delivered but my husband's beer - the easiest option. Food came and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Cost was mid to high based on what you ordered. My orange crush was delish but for some reason warm like it wasn't shaken. World class experience at our first visit! My fiancé surprised me for Valentine's Day as we strolled around the paths of I'on to arrive at our dinner spot Community Table. They had a set menu with a prosecco toast and popovers to start off. The homemade butter and candied bacon complimented the soft, hot popovers wonderfully. The Paloma cocktail was refreshing. For appetizer I enjoyed the tuna crudo and my fiancé got the pork belly on top of grits. The sauces for the tuna were extra flavorful, pork belly was crispy and succulent. Our dessert came next so we dug into a soft tiramisu and cracked that creme brûlée with delight! For entree the beef Wellington and the side potatoes complimented the experience. My fiancé got the duck + barley, the texture of the duck felt like a steak, yum! Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Susana is a wonderful host and everyone made us feel seen and welcomed. We enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day Brunch! Their brunch has just about everything you could want! Omelette station, chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, ham, ribeye, scalloped potatoes, peel and eat shrimp and more! They also have desserts-the favorite being the cinnamon croissant donut things. The service was excellent-they have the flow down to a science. This was our first experience at the Community Table and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door and taken to a quiet section in the back. The ambience was coastal and very comfortable. I would like to have seen a few more vegetarian sandwich or wrap options on the lunch menu but they do offer several salad and soup choices. They had three mocktail choices. However, the one I chose they weren't serving at this point so I wasn't able to evaluate it. For this trip, I chose a turkey sandwich and they were very polite about removing items that I asked to remove such as no cheese, no bacon and no mayonnaise. The food came out reasonably fast, and the only issue was soggy fries. The sandwich was good, but the fries made it a lot of work. We will definitely give them another opportunity and see how they do on their dinner menu. read more

A gorgeous and quiant Charlestonian restaurant in the Ion neighborhood. Staff is friendly and helpful. Came here for lunch and they have a well balanced menu of sandwiches, salads and soup. They even had non-alcoholic mixed drinks. I had the winter salad and my hubby had the turkey club (requested with cheese, bacon or mayo). My salad was the perfect size and not overly dressed. My hubby loved his sandwich, but the fries were not crispy. Should have been twice fried. Definitely will come here again! read more

We decided to check out Community Table in the front of the I'On neighborhood on a beautiful, sunny 75° day -- perfect weather for outdoor dining. Parking can be tricky here since there are only a few spots, but we lucked out and found a space in the lot across the street. We arrived just after the lunch rush, so there were plenty of open tables outside. We chose a high-top on the side facing the neighborhood, where we could enjoy the view of cars coming and going -- a nice, relaxed setting. Our server was friendly, attentive, and prompt -- she really handled everything perfectly. We ordered the Cobb Salad with grilled chicken and shrimp. The chicken had a great crispy exterior (not fried, just nicely grilled) and was tender inside. The shrimp were also well-cooked and flavorful. The green goddess dressing was tasty but a bit light -- we could've used just a touch more. The salad itself was finely chopped, which made it easy to eat at first, but toward the end, the tiny bits got a little hard to scoop up with a fork. We also tried the smashed burger, which came with caramelized onions and a burger sauce. The sauce didn't have much flavor, but the onion straws were a pleasant surprise and added a nice crunch. The burger overall was decent -- not particularly juicy, but still tasty -- about a 3 out of 5. The fries were excellent: skin-on, well-seasoned, and crispy. As for drinks, the Diet Coke didn't quite taste like Diet Coke, but they served it with a lime, and squeezing that in actually made it taste better! Overall, it was a lovely experience -- good food, great service, and a perfect setting for enjoying a sunny afternoon outdoors. We'll definitely be back, especially to sit outside again. read more

Very lovely area and Community Table is a charming spot. This was a first time visit for us, to have lunch with a friend who lives in the area. My husband had the Caesar Salad with french fries and some added Chicken while I had the excellent smash burger which also came with fries. As per my usual, I ate roughly half of the serving and brought it home for my husband to enjoy later. Food was good, service was warm and efficient while the ambiance was just what we needed that day. We will be back next time we visit. read more

We've been here 3 times in the last several weeks. Our best experience was sitting at a table where we had a server with a deep NY accent. He was very entertaining and provided excellent service. We sat at an outside table near a heat lamp which made for a very cozy outdoor experience. We started with the Ricotta Toast and the seared Tuna appetizer. Both were amazing. The Ricotta Toast had great fresh toppings to include sweet potatoes. So good. And the tuna had a very delectable sauce that was the perfect umami experience. We've also tried the crab cake (ok) and the Potato Pave Carbonara (very tasty). For the main course we shared the Spicy Sausage Rigatoni which was also delicious. The other couple of times we came in for Happy Hour at the bar. We had a good time although the bar team doesn't seem to really flow... the male bartender makes excellent hand-crafted drinks though. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. My companions' meal appeared good. I had the Cobb salad and to be honest it was disappointing. Appearance was unappetizing, shrimp hard to find, chicken was tough and I found several bones. The noise level was so high that we had to practically yell to our dinner companions. To top it off when I got my credit card statement today I saw that they had added another charge AFTER my bill had been processed and signed by me. So they processed my card a second time obviously for an additional charge which was not disclosed to me. I have called the restaurant and requested the manager return my call to discuss but he has not returned my call. I have therefore contacted my credit card company to report a fraudulent charge. Update: It was my first time coming to community table in several years and we came for lunch. What a treat, just as I remember, attentive, staff, beautiful space and delicious house made dishes. We sat here for hours because it was so inviting and relaxing. The dining room is spacious, and they really have beautiful beachy vibe decor. Parking is no issue, plenty of spaces on the street and up at the side of the restaurant. We did not need to make reservations. it's obviously too hot to sit outside, but they also have an indoor patio that you can use. They have tables big enough for 8 to 10 people or tables for 2. we had such a fun time and I will definitely return sooner rather than later. read more

I want to really like community table, it's in a great location in a very high end area of Mount pleasant, the ambiance is fantastic, service good and drinks delicious. But something was missing, first the menu is deceiving labeling items GF but when you ask questions it comes to light they really aren't. We started with the Tuna Poke which was delicious but also wanted the wings which are labeled GF, come to find out they are not as the fryer is cross contaminated. Why label it GF then? I could have gotten sick. The drinks took a bit to come out but the lychee item on the drink menu is delicious and worth the wait, I had three. For dinner my wife had the chicken, pretty good and I ordered the steak and frites, the fries are not gluten free yet again the menu says GF. I asked to sub the fries for rice or sweet potatoes and the chef wanted to upcharge me for the change. How cheap is the chef to up charge the swap out, considering he labeled the menu wrong. The server ended up removing the charge after I asked to speak to the chef, who never came out from the kitchen. The rice ended up being undercooked but the steak itself was well seasoned and very good. Finally my third beverage they brought out a tequila martini not the lychee drink you could tell just by the color it was wrong. I'd come back and give them another chance but seriously fix your menu and chefs attitude. read more

On a perfect weather Saturday afternoon a friend and I headed to Mt P to check out Community Table for brunch. We sat at one of the outside tables. After ordering my first cocktail I recognized the cocktails looked familiar. The waitress let me know that Kiki and Rye was party of the Community Table restaurant family and had some of the same cocktails. Knowing I like the Nancy Paloma I switched to that for cocktail number two. :-) For food we decided to share the cheddar and ale fondue and the shrimp po'boy. When we ordered the fondue I was anticipating the red pot with the forks. Instead we got a warm bowl of cheese. HELLO who doesn't love a warm bowl of cheese? We both agreed the polenta fries was the best dipper. When the crispy shrimp po'boy came out they served it already split and on individual plates for each of us. I love love love when a restaurant does that. The sandwich was the perfect size with lots of delicious ingredients that made it messy in a good way to eat. I wish I would have asked for extra pickled green tomato remoulade to make it messier. :). The I'ON area of Mt P where this restaurant is located is so quant and peaceful. If you find yourself in the area and the weather is playing nice enjoy some food and drinks on their outdoor seating. read more

I'm giving Community Table five stars for a variety of reasons....first, it was our third attempt at finding a restaurant that was OPEN! On a Saturday?! We wandered over to CT because the cool vibe of this place glowed out to the street and drew our attention. Second, we walked in and got sat immediately! We felt like it was meant to be. The ambience of CT is cozy, classy, beachy and comfortable. The servers were absolutely terrific and so friendly. OK so the POPOVER....lawdhavemercy! What an indulgence, and a twist on the classic bread offering. Those lasted about 30 seconds at our table. We also ordered the whipped ricotta appetizer for the table, and although the ricotta itself was a bit plain, it was nicely balanced by the sweet/hot grilled peppers that accompanied it. I enjoyed the cast iron shrimp starter as my entree - it was simple, flavorful and pretty to look at. The shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. My friends enjoyed the beet salad with chicken, the cobb salad and the cast iron fish (tuna) for their entrees and all got thumbs up. Finally....THE DRINKS! *sigh* My friend and I ordered the lemon ginger martini, and, well....then I ordered another. What a yummy, yummy drink. Decent restaurant in l'On. Service is good and the ambiance is nice although can get a little loud inside. Probably more pleasant sitting on the porch. People seem to like the smash burger and it is very popular especially on Tuesdays when it is only $12. I ordered this and I must say was expecting much better from a place like this. The fries were very over cooked to the point of them being bitter, there were no vegetables on the burger at all, and the whole plate was tossed with a bucket of fried onions in a very un-elegant way. Maybe it is to some people's liking but I couldn't even finish half of my dinner (which never happens). Definitely will be ordering something different if I come back. read more

You know, I had high hopes for this place, and they simply were not met. Firstly, sitting indoors was a mistake. The AC was on blast and everyone else at my table was distracted by how cold they felt (I brought a sweatshirt, so I was fine). The room was also so loud, making casual conversation a challenge. There was fantastic live music, but that only added to the noise challenge. This meal took a really long time. I'm usually all for a well paced service, one that isn't too fast and allows time for conversation and enjoyment, but this was a record slow breakfast. We were seated at 10:30 (with a reservation) and did not get food until after 11:30. Our waitress was great, and kept apologizing to us for the wait, and took our coffees off the bill to make up for it. I did like the food. My sister had steak and eggs, and the steak was superb. I was impressed that my French toast waffles actually tasted like French toast, but the price on the menu was really high and did not match my bill. Luckily, my bill was cheaper than the menu. If these had actually cost $14, I would have been annoyed. They seem to need to fix their menu, as my sisters dish included chopped bacon, which she had not been aware of and did not want. I think like many eating establishments right now, this place is struggling. The pandemic is really tough to operate in, and low staffing makes good service impossible. Their concepts are great and the location is beautiful. The staff are very nice. The drinks look awesome. I would go back here again at a later date and reconsider my rating. We love the small community of Ion it's beautiful and we didn't have any difficulty finding street parking! We loved the atmosphere and we took a large group of family 10+ people! It seated us well, there's options for large or small groups! It was quiet enough for our group to still have conversation! The service was amazing, our waiter was so kind and worked well with my dietary restrictions of GF! Some of these items may be off the menu at this time as the menu does change! We took pictures of everyone's dishes and the table loved everything. We especially loved the Duck Confit and North Carolina Trout! The lettuce wraps were Ana amazing appetizer!
