We got the NO 5 pasta and pastichio. The pastichio was delicious! Very filling and that spice meat is just so dang tasty. The no 5 pasta is huge. Like bigger than I expected. It was tasty but wouldn't order again as I felt the pasta to meat sauce ratio was way off and needed more sauce so I was left with a lot of unsauced pasta. Service was phenomenal and food was delicious as always!

Stella's delivers the kind of ambience that makes you want to linger a little longer. Warm energy, beautiful space, and a vibe that feels both elevated and welcoming at the same time. The food was flat-out stellar. The roasted chicken deserves its own award ceremony; easily top three I've ever had, anywhere. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked with the kind of confidence you only get from a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. The staff matched the food step-for-step. Extremely kind, genuinely accommodating and clearly proud of the experience they're creating. It's rare to find a place firing on all cylinders like this. Stella's isn't just one of the better spots in Charleston, it's one of the best. Guaranteed repeat visit.

Stella's is a quaint and authentic Greek restaurant located in Charleston, SC. We have also been to the location in Richmond,VA. Both locations operate with the highest standards for service and food quality. We opted to eat on the patio in August, overhead fans kept us very comfortable. Everything from the fresh bread and olive oil to entrees and dessert showed attention to detail freshness and quality. Stella's provides a true family atmosphere. We couldn't pass up the baklava! It features hickory nuts azaleas, pecans and chocolate chips. A light but decadent treat! Stella's is a must visit whenever you in Charleston SC or Richmond VA.

Loved this restaurant. Great appetizers, the flavor on everything was so so good. The salmon and shrimp was great.

I grew up in Richmond and lived around the corner from where the original Stella's is located so coming here tasted like home. The space is warm and they have a quaint outdoor area as well. I loved the community table vibes too. Our server was lovely as well. We got the flaming cheese, shrimp with fava bean purée and spanakopita to start. All amazing. The fava bean purée was denser than what I'm used to in Richmond but otherwise everything was equally as delicious. For our entrees we did the arugula salad, Greek salad, sampler plate and mousakka and loved them all. Such a special place and hope they can bring Stella's Grocery to Charleston next!!

Really enjoyed dinner at Stella's. The proportions were huge and the flavors were amazing. I had the pastichiatho which was a hollow pasta that held the sauce very very well. The sauce was rich and flavorful with clove and nutmeg. Very ample portion, you can easily take half of this home for another meal. I would definitely come to this restaurant again and I would definitely order this dish again!

Hubby and I along with his brother and our sister-in-law dined at Stella's on a Saturday evening while visiting Charleston. We walked over from our hotel and were told the wait would be 1.5 hours without reservations. That didn't make any sense since no other groups were waiting on tables. We decided to hang out and see if a table opened up sooner and one did. We only waited about 20 minutes. Once seated, our server came right over and took our drink and appetizer order. She was very nice, attentive, and quite friendly. Hubby and I shared the spanakopita with tzatziki. I really liked the filling and the tzatziki but the phyllo was dry and overcooked. The flavors were there, however, the execution wasn't great. I was also left wanting more tzatziki which would have helped with the dry phyllo. For our entree, we shared the pastichio. Again, I thought the flavors were there but it was dry and overcooked. The ground beef was seasoned well and there was a nice cheesy flavor. I felt there should have been more béchamel or sauciness from the meat sauce. Overall, trendy and alluring spot, unique menu, flavorful food, and great service. The execution was just a bit off in my option. I most likely wouldn't return.

Stella's was phenomenal. The place is cute, the service was amazing and the food 10/10. As a starter we had the grilled octopus and it was soooo tender. As an entree we shared the pastichio and it was no kidding the best pasta I've ever had. The beef was seasoned so well and it smelled amazing I didn't want to stop eating. Drinks were good as well. We will be making this a regular spot for us.

Stella's had the best Greek food I've had since living there. Just like the yaya's and farmers I lived with cooked! The ambiance is laid back with a huge bar/counter inside and a lovely covered porch next to an extended outside patio. Our server was friendly, timely and nice. The smelts were ok (dip was amazing), chicken and the Santorini's shrimp were excellent, and the cocktails were interesting. We will definitely be back whenever we're in Charleston!

    Moussaka

This restaurant is really good, as they maximize the seating capacity. The decorations are rustic and modern. We ordered Moussaka, Yia Yia Fried Potatoes, Kotopoulo, Spanakopita and for dessert we ordered Ekmek. The meal was delicious as I decided to order out of my confort zone, since I usually order lamb. The staff recommended me a traditional Greek meal; Moussaka and I did. I was happy I did and I really loved it!! Moussaka is a classic Greek dish, a layered casserole typically featuring eggplant, potatoes, a savory meat sauce (often ground beef or lamb), and a creamy béchamel sauce topping. It's a hearty and flavorful dish, often considered a comfort food. The staff was really friendly and helpful. My wife and I really had a wonderful experience with the food and the staff. Even the other clients were friendly and social as we did had some conversations with them. Will definitely return.

Stella's in Charleston completely exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was amazing, warm, and full of energy. We didn't have a reservation, but they still managed to seat us within about fifteen minutes, which was such a pleasant surprise. The food was unbelievably good. I ordered the roasted chicken and it did not disappoint. It was juicy, flavorful, and truly memorable. The service was equally impressive, attentive without ever feeling rushed. I've been visiting Charleston for years and somehow never knew about this place, and now I understand why the locals like to keep it a secret. It is definitely a staple. You absolutely need a reservation on weekends because it gets packed, but it is well worth the planning. I will be returning to Stella's every time I'm in Charleston.

Poogan's Porch is a couple blocks off the main Market/Bay path, but it's still close to a good number of hotels and historic sites. It was a casual 15 minute stroll from my hotel right on E Bay. The service and food were excellent and the setting is inside a finely converted historic style home. We had a reservation for brunch on a weekday, but it wouldn't have been impossible to walk in that time of day. I would assume that it gets busier on weekends and in more tourist seasons. There is an option for outside seating, but in the Charleston heat and humidity, we opted for sitting inside. My friend and I each got cocktails and entrees. Cocktails were generously sized and reasonably priced. I was right to get the cajun remoulade on the side of my Fried Chicken Sandwich as this allowed me to dole out my spice as I could tolerate. My friend's Chicken and Waffles were fluffy and moist. The seasoning on these boneless chicken tenders was *chef's kiss*. Here's the only thing that I will mention as a drawback: The bathrooms. I understand this is a converted house and the historic-ness is part of its charm. However, when your women's bathroom has two stalls and one of the toilets isn't screwed into the floor and you cannot close the door without straddling the bowl... there's an impact to your enjoyment of the restaurant. I would emphasize this even more when the waste basket in the bathroom is overflowing and there are multiple hosts at the host stand waiting for customers to come in. If you haven't been to Poogan's Porch, it's worth a visit the next time you're in Charleston.

I ordered the fried chicken, with cabbage and red rice. The cabbage was absolute fire, it was so tender and delicious. The red rice was good, but a bit on the dry side. I feel like had I been there when a fresh pan was brought out it would have been a lot better. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked and had a flaky crust but it needed salt and the tables did not provide any.
