Pork Dumplings, egg roll, miso soup
    George D.

This one has been in my Yelp Collection Bucket List for a while. Finally got here in a Thursday for lunch. Parking was tough but I found a spot maybe 2-3 minute walk away. Not bad. Walked in and was greeted immediately by the Hostess. She was so flippin friendly. Sat at a booth at the bar. Server was there quickly and friendly. They have a team approach to the table service. So it was excellent. Started with the pork dumplings 5/5 Got a combo meal so it came with Egg Roll 4/5 Miso Soup 3/5 - it was barely warm but tasty Sichuan Hot Karaage-Don 10/5 excellent!! Highly recommend

This is a difficult review to write.. while I've wanted to try Jackrabbit Filly for a long long time.. sadly it fell flat for me. The vibe ambiance and service here are all above par. Staff were great The vibe was electric and the decor intimate & cozy but casual. However, my four star rating is based on the dishes... They just didn't do it for me.. I felt that they all had the same seasoning.. the vermicelli was different in that it had an aroma of gas... weird. The tempura mushrooms.. felt like the dregs from the fryer... no mushrooms.. The chicken portions in the Karaage was just too big. We also had a Tiger Salad which had such a bitter acidic flavor Maybe it's me... maybe that's how the dishes were supposed to be.. it just didn't do it for me... a shame.

Decided to finally check out the much raved jackrabbit filly for my fiancés belated birthday dinner after hearing so many people recommend the place! Although the ambiance and food itself was good, we were seated by a VERY loud party of over 8 people making it very hard for me to listen to my fiancé and I's conversation. Coming from a very Asian dense neighborhood in Boston, I found myself saying I had enjoyed more the food from back home at hole in the wall mom and pop restaurants than my dining experience here. Definitely worth checking out but I don't find myself coming back. The drinks and the cornbread are definitely worth ordering!

Go here!!! Now! Food is incredible, service was great, and vibes were fantastic. Plenty of street parking available.

Was really excited to try Jackrabbit Filly since there's a similar spot in Austin that became one of our favorites. With that being said, this wasn't my favorite experience. Garlicky Cucumbers: Just okay, but I wouldn't order them again. A miss for me. Beef Dumplings: Best thing we had, would honestly go back just for these. Shrimp Wonton Soup: The dumplings were solid, but the broth leaned too vinegar-forward for my taste. Shepherd's Pie: Good flavor, but zero pork. It was basically greens... and more greens. Sichuan Hot Karaage: Great portion size and interesting flavor. The sauce all pooled at the bottom instead of being tossed, but I'd still order this again.

I have been waiting for about 2 years for this one. I remember when they were on Spruil Avenue and I made a couple of attempts, but it was impossible without a reservation. So this time when I made reservation, I did not understand why the GPS was giving me these directions, and that is when I found out they moved that is so cool. Theres alot more space. Also the place was jam packed as usual. It's like this every time I had passed by.First of all, most of the things that I wanted on the yelp pictures, they don't even have on the menu anymore.I was so angry at that. We got tables all the way in the back.We ordered the kimchi appetizers with three different flavors and dumplings to start off with. Thr apple kimcho was the best. It taste smoked and vinegar. You find out all the things you want to order, and then they bring everything out one at a time. But it was kinda weird because they bring all the side items out first.Which leaves you with any kind of entrees you may have ordered.. Everything is so extra garlicky, it's like they're trying to kill vampires or something. The potato dumplings and shrimp dumplings were pretty good.Definitely original. The 2 kinds of chicken they sell were excellent. The sauces were incredible. I can definitely see me ordering those again that rice with the spices on top was also very good. Very, very moist. We enjoy those three things most. The noodles with the nuts on top were pretty good. It went very well with the chicken. But like I said, everything was loaded with garlic,I'm sorry after so much garlic. It kind of kills your taste buds for the night. The food was good. But a bit overrated in my opinion. Maybe I was expecting more.Easy to be disappointed when you do that. I love the new spot, it has way more room. NICE BATHROOMS. Lol. I was full for three days. Definitely @ least a 4 star experience. I will go 3 stars for lack of a menu. Because the menu doesn't have much choices, might be better to start out with the entrees.

My son and his girlfriend moved to Charleston and this was high on my list of places to go on my first visit after watching Top Chef! The atmosphere was great and everyone was super friendly! We started with espresso martinis and they were delicious. Our waitress walked us through the menu, which was very helpful. Our favorites were shrimp wontons, karaage chicken and the pork dumplings. We really liked everything we tried though, so I don't think you can go wrong! As an added bonus, we saw Shuai Wang! I was so excited and asked if he would take a picture with me. He was one of the friendliest people I have ever met! He chatted with us for a bit and told my son about all the other restaurants we should try.

Another excellent meal from jackrabbit filly! This was our first time in their new spot, and it is so spacious and beautiful. But their food is still to die for, like always! We were seated immediately and our waiter walked us through the menu. They always have fun cocktails and a great beer/wine list. My husband ordered the let's get tropical cocktail and it was so delicious. We ordered 6 food items to share between 3 of us and they were all excellent! The corn fritters were the dark horse in our spread as it was almost an afterthought but holy cow they were *chefs kiss.* perfectly buttery and salty and was a nice "side item" to order. The crispy potatoes were great with the oyster sauce, and the dumplings and pierogis were perfection. The karaage chicken is always a must, and the cold peanut noodles were excellent too! They had a subtle heat to them but the peanut sauce balance it out well. Honestly, every item that came out was my favorite until the next plate came out. One of the best restaurants in the charleston area!

If you have not been for lunch, go! Jackrabbit Filly has flavor packed Karaage (multiple flavors) bowls, chirashi (fish, like deconstructed sushi) bowls, and more. Make sure to make it a combo that adds the veggie roll and soup of the day. Today's was onion, garlic miso soup and it hit the spot! It sold me on always making it a combo as I would hate to miss out in the goodies in the future. If you're just getting off work, JF offers Golden Hour full of small bites and delicious cocktails to hold you over till dinner. My favorite dinner items are any rotating special, tuna tartare with Texas toast, karaage, dumplings, and the seasonal fried rice. There are 3 main seating areas. The private back seating area great for large parties. The front dining room where you can see the gorgeous lantern displays. Last, the bar and high top booth sections. I personally like the bar area for something more casual and the others for more intimate or fancier nights out. Per usual, JF hires the best staff! Kind, fun style, and genuinely kind people.

    Sichuan hot karaage-don

Cute spot, great service, yummy food, and a disco ball in the restroom! Yes please! We enjoyed everything. Made the karaage a combo which came with an epic curry squash soup and egg roll. The dish had nice heat and fresh cabbage. Their spin on a burger was to die for. Pork patty, fried onions, pickles, amazing sauce and it came with addicting five spice fries. Get ya some!

I was worried that things wouldn't be the same at this new location, but I had an absolute blast! The food is still great and the atmosphere is fun. Best of all, this location is larger than the previous one. The icing on the cake was our server, Dexter. He was funny and very attentive. We can't wait to go back!

We heard about this place from some friends and had to check it out when we were back in town; and I'm so glad we did! We booked our reservations as soon as they were available and were promptly seated upon arrival. Our server quickly greeted us and was attentive throughout the meal. The inside is Asian inspired with wood touches and a loud atmosphere. It makes you feel like you're at a family function enjoying dinner with friends. Their menu is served family style for all their items and since it was 6 of us; we tried a lot of them. I won't go through each one but my favorite items were: Both chicken Karaages. The original is more lemon forward and the hot isn't too spicy but lets the heat notes come through. The sauces on both were amazing. Pineapple Fried Rice. Truly flavorful and well worth the hype. The pineapple with the shrimp and ham bits married well together and was a table favorite. Crunchy Salad. This is my new favorite salad in the area. Overall, all the food was great and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I will for sure be back to try it again soon!

I also tried their house made ginger beer to have in case a chaser was needed and honestly it is the best ginger beer I've ever had! This came as a nice discovery for me as I am new to the area and still learning where the hot spots are. Inside, the restaurant feels like a traditional Irish pub: dark wood, very dim-lit, regulars pooled around the bar, weird little corners and nooks everywhere. Our server was as nice as can be. Can't go wrong with the Fried Pickles, they hit the spot and were not too breaded. Fries were great. We all ordered the Shepherd's Pie, served with a side of Irish soda bread, each $18. For what you get, I feel it's a little steep. The angus beef was seasoned and cooked beautifully, very moist and not dry at all. However, all three of our meals mostly consisted of mashed potatoes on top and an off-ratio of angus beef on the bottom. It felt unbalanced and did not have nearly enough meat, and all of us had the same experience. The potatoes were dry and not particularly impressive; I expected more from a place billed as a traditional Irish restaurant. Given that I came with two others and we all ordered the same thing, though, I didn't get to try more of their menu and I wouldn't be opposed to going back to try more items on the menu. Maybe it's just not the best thing they have.

This was our first visit and excited to come back! The building is attached to Kings BBQ for delicious before show bites. We went for their "Golden Hour" and loved every moment. Glad we got there early because the parking lot does fill up quickly. There is additional parking around the venue, if it's full when you arrive. The entrance leads directly into a large bar area, with seating along the whole counter. Basically this area is half of the building so is surprisingly large. They offer craft cocktails, local beers, and wine by the glass. The second half of the building is the stage and seating. Personal space is a premium here as every spot is used for the audience. We saw 3 two seaters tables along the back wall as welk as a few tables in the front row directly at the edge of the stage. Both areas are considered "upgraded" seating/tickets. Use that info when buying tickets. The rest of the seats (at least for our show) are open seating. My suggestion is not to wait too long to find seating once the doors open. Not that there is a bad seat, but I do like to have choices. We had two openers and the main headliner for our show. Everything ran smoothly, with good volume and pacing. They then had a merch area set up after the show, back in the lounge/bar area. This got a little extra cosy but everyone was respectful. We would 100% come back for another show!
