The coffee here is so delicious! I ordered an iced Mocha and my wife got an iced banana caramel latte. The banana caramel latte was fenomenal! I would definitely order that drink again. The Mocha wasn't sweet enough for me, so I added some brown sugar and that did the trick. The place inside is so cute aesthetically. It was very busy on Memorial Day, with everyone working on laptops or having meetups. The entire place is wheelchair accessible, including the seating and restrooms. We will definitely be back. read more

We love communal. It's such a cute coffee shop and has become a great hang out for a lot of families with young kids, given the shared courtyard in the back (which is completely enclosed and gated). The coffee is really good as is the food although it's a bit overpriced. They also have the next door Annex where you can purchase flowers and small cute little nicknacks, including toddler toys and clothes as well as cook books and small kitchen keepsakes. Overall, a really cute and aesthetic place with friendly service. read more

This place is a VIBE!!! Recommended to me by a friend, I woke up early Sunday morning and decided to check out Communal Coffee because 1) a girls gotta eat and 2) sometimes a girl has to treat herself, especially the day after her first Ironman 70.3 :))) Anyway, Crystal M. gave me a great recommendation for the Smoked Salmon Toast (I was between that and the hot honey prosciutto) and I'm so glad I got the salmon because it was so fresh and so filling, too! I also ordered a hot matcha latte (duhhhh) with lavender honey. So, it was so good that I ended up ordering a second to go...along with some super cute souvenirs from the super cute market of sorts also at Communal Coffee. I'm obsessed with this place and will 100% be back. I have my eye on the Espresso Martini MOCKTAIL!!! This place is a vibe, this place is my heaven. Check it out!!! read more

We came here before our flight home and wow the golden coast iced latte was the best! We also got the maple sausage sandwich and it was very tasty. The service was quick and everyone was very nice. This coffee shop has lots of seating and has a great vibe. We were able to relax on the couch while we were there before we had to leave. I highly recommend coming here! read more

I tried this cafe twice a year apart and both experiences ended the same. I am a black woman and it was quite apparent that's not this establishments cup of tea (). First interaction I came in with my boyfriend we were treated to horrible stares and annoyance when asking questions about the menu. We did not order and let them know thank you so much we're going to head out have a nice day. Second time I went with my mom and sister same exact experience only towards us not any other customer. I expressed my apologies to my family because I knew Communal Coffee behaved this way in the past, but didn't mention because maybe they've changed for the better. Disappointing but whatever I would suggest not going in there if you're a person of color. read more

Service was decent, the two baristas were patient while we figured out what all to order. Definitely laid back vibes. We wanted to try a little bit of everything because it all looked so good and it was! Acai was delicious especially with the pumpkin seeds, the avocado bagel had a good mix of textures, the burrito was bomb, the salmon was smokey, and the oats were sweet. Overhyped and overpriced. The coffee shop establishment is cute and spacious, with decent outdoor seating. But the coffee itself is only a hair above "pretty good". Service too is a hit or a miss, the young blonde girl that took my order was not personable at all and just look disgruntled and over it, she even hit my wife and I with the signature "Gen-Z Stare". My wife and I both worked retail and food service for years so we know how much the industry sucks, but still, her attitude does not get a pass. Honestly this individual is a discredit to Communal Coffee. However, when I picked up our order, the brunette barista was super kind and helpful! Hopefully the rest of the team is more like her and not the blonde girl. So shoutout to her! Lastly, I asked for light ice in my iced coffee because I don't like watered down coffee and they filled it only 3/4ths full. I payed for a full coffee but got 3/4ths instead (see photo). Overall: 2/5 stars. This place kinda sucks. read more

The place has windows all around which gives it an open and welcoming atmosphere. The service was fast. We ordered; -Batch brew for my husband - two Ube Matcha Latte for me and my daughter. The drink had the perfect balance between matcha and ube with the right sweetness. Love this place! This place is beautiful! I got a beautiful floral arrangement for a friend and she loved it! The matcha ube latte was also amazing and the avocado and hot honey toast was bomb! The only thing is that their chai latte was pretty spicy! Heavy on the ginger which I didn't mind but was too spicy for my 15 year old daughter. I wish that they had a vanilla version of the chai... also wish they had more options for kids. Will be visiting this place a lot in the future! read more

I used to absolutely love coming to Communal -- I was here almost every day, and the salted maple sausage sandwich was my go-to treat on my days off. But ever since they changed the recipe (more than once), it's just not the same. The English muffins they use now taste cheaper and nowhere near as good. The last time I ordered it (2-3 weeks ago), there was WAX PAPER cooked into the cheese and egg. I didn't realize until I had eaten most of it. I was told I'd get a refund, but never received one. I paid $30 for a sandwich that now tastes like something from McDonald's, plus a coffee I didn't even drink -- and honestly, coffee in this town has gotten way better elsewhere. I also used to love their bagel with herbed cream cheese and raw onion, but it's a gamble -- half the staff tell me "no" without even checking (lazy), and the other half will actually walk to the kitchen and confirm. It's inconsistent and frustrating. Today I decided to give them another chance and ordered the avocado toast, which has always been bland except for big chunks of salt on top. I asked for balsamic to make it better -- they didn't even have balsamic in the kitchen. In the end, I canceled my order before finishing it because I knew I wouldn't be pleased. I used to recommend Communal to everyone, but now it feels overpriced, inconsistent, and out of touch. Unfortunately, I don't plan on coming back read more

Only putting 4 stars cause I need to go back and try their coffee. Only stepped in to get some food and use their bathroom. As someone with a gluten allergy I liked their generous GF menu. I tried their salmon lox bagel and it was so good. The bagel still tasted like a bagel too. Cream cheese wasn't too salty and the textures went well. I really wanted to like this place. If you are looking for a place to hang out and Instagram - this is your spot. If you are really hungry - check Yelp for photos before ordering we got the "sandwiches" , which were basically "English breakfast sandwiches" - my bad for not reading the fine print. For over $12 bucks - I didn't think it would be snack-size but I was wrong. Sorry I expect American-portions..not Iceland/european portions.. The orange cardamom latte was disappointing- did not have the fragrance of neither. I paid a dollar more for oat milk too. Disappointed. It was fine as a regular oat latte ...it just wasn't an orange cardamom latte..if you've ever had it in Seattle..this one just ain't it. Sorry communal. To be fair, our experience was tainted by drunk day drinkers talking loudly in the outside seating area. We would've moved except my latte took forever and we were too starving to move tables once our $12 snack arrived. Will I try this place again? Was in town visiting friends and they suggested this place as one of their favorites and it was easy to see why. They have a pretty nice storefront set up with all kinds of goods to browse while you're in line. They had mugs, and kitchenware, but they also had jewelry, books, and clothing. They had something for kids, adults, pets. There was so much to see. I didn't get a chance to browse the entire store but it definitely made me want to come back to peruse through it all. Seems like it would maybe be a good spot to grab a coffee and grab a last minute gift if you were visiting someone and didn't want to show up empty handed. There were people there with their dogs and kids so it was pretty family friendly. Parking wasn't too difficult, we found a spot right out front, but I'm not sure if that's the norm here. Service was friendly. I opted for seasonal latte and it was good. It wasn't too strong, but it was enjoyable. We got 4 drinks total and they didn't take long to prepare at all. They have a lot of tables and seating indoors, but since it was a nice day, we opted to sit in the back patio. There was definitely more seating in the back so if you're with a group, the back would be the place to sit. Definitely worth visiting if you're in town. read more

I really enjoyed my mocktail and the harvest bowl that I had. The only complaint is the portion sizes. I typically don't finish my meal and this time I left hungry. The harvest bowl had the best aioli I've ever had! I need a side of dat lol. You can tell their dishes are nicely crafted and someone takes pride in it. It was a super cute place to chill. It's very lounge like and the mocktail I had was this hibiscus ginger beer drink that was so good but also very small for a mocktail. It might just be me but mocktails should be larger because the lack of alcohol. Phenomenal service and amazing coffee/food! This is my third time here and I have always been served quality coffee with great customer service. The staff is so so kind. They double checked that a particular drink was dairy free, and they were beyond helpful/sweet in fixing a mistake I made when ordering a food item! This place is one of the most beautiful coffee shops I've ever been to. It has a flower shop within the cafe and a cute little section for local goodies and coffee beans. I love how there's so much space indoors and outdoors for people to study and to enjoy brunch with friends! I recommend the maple sausage sandwich. It was surprisingly flavorful and juicy. Wow the inside of communal is GORGEOUS. So many pretty colors and plants everywhere. There is plenty of seating inside and outside as well and free wifi for those who want to work. I got the ube matcha latte which is a seasonal drink. The flavors blended perfectly together and it came out super pretty. It wasn't too sweet as well which was good. The latte art was purple with ube :) If you get a coffee/ latte, don't forget to tell them if you want it hot or iced, as they will most likely give you your drink hot. read more

On our most recent visit, we waited over 30 minutes for a single item--a bagel. Unfortunately, the staff did not acknowledge the delay, inquire about our wait, or offer any form of compensation. This is my new favorite coffee spot. The ascetics are amazing and probably my favorite part. However, the coffee and food is lives up to the look. I had a lavender latte that tasted like heaven. I recently visited Communal and had an extremely disappointing experience. The staff were not only rude but also displayed racist behavior, which is completely unacceptable. I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and respect shown by the employees. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated, and I hope the management takes immediate action to address this issue. It comes with the most delicious creamy sauce, and I always ask for a side of their green salsa because I'm a sauce girl. Such a good combo! The jalapeño cheddar with cream cheese is also amazing! This visit I tried the seasonal banana latte. The flavor was good, but the texture wasn't my favorite - though you can definitely tell it's made with real banana. I usually stick with their vanilla bean or honey cinnamon latte, which are still my top picks. I seriously crave Bound all the time. They have Wi-Fi, plenty of indoor seating, plus a few outdoor tables if you're looking to work or catch up with a friend. I didn't have room for dessert this time, but the scones and cookies looked incredible, so I'll definitely be back to try those soon!

First, couple months ago, I was left waiting for over 30 mins for a breakfast burrito, I thought they were just busy so I gave grace. I went up to ask the status and they told me the cook went to the store to get more tortillas...... didn't bother telling me or informing me. I directly reached out via IG and they gave me a $20 to come back, super nice of them!! Now, fast forward a few months, I had some time to myself this morning and wanted to enjoy coffee and a bagel. (Best sourdough bagels ever) it comes out and the jalapeños are completely blackened on the top like it was burnt to crisp, oh well I moved on and ate half. I began eating the next half and notice that they left the entire piece of paper on the cheese..... so now I'm left wondering did I just eat another piece of paper on the other side and didn't even notice?!! I take it in and tell them. They're super nonchalant about it and ask if I want a refund or another one. They ended up giving me a full refund and said sorry. It just made me feel like this sort of thing happens a lot. I really love this place but I'm really not sure how this keeps happening to me. I just can't do it anymore. Really bummed.

The staff was really nice and I just loved all the plants. I also loved how they have indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the everything bagel with cream cheese - not sure where they get the bagels but I loved it! And they put a lot of cream cheese which I appreciate. I got La Fresa which has strawberry cold foam and after mixing it, I liked it. I will definitely be back to try more coffee and their other food options. The first time we went, we ordered Cafe de la Olla and La Morena- both with oat milk and I asked them to double check the syrups did not contain dairy. I was told all was good so we enjoyed our lattes and our daughters shared a hibiscus refresher. On our second and third visit we ordered again, La Morena and one other latte. I asked again if the syrups contained any dairy and was told no. We ordered again with oat milk. On the second visit, my husband had stomach problems and I suspect dairy was somehow inadvertently used. On the third visit, I thought it may have been a fluke, my husband getting sick and so we ordered what we had the first time but this time I got sick. So, I'm not sure if there is dairy in the syrup or if they accidentally used cow milk in our lattes. Too bad too, because the flavors were tasty. We also appreciated the donuts from Doughside Donuts. I'm just not sure we will be ordered coffee from here anymore. The entry is really cute and you automatically see the variety of plants. They sell some jewelry and plant/Mexican pastry merchandise. Service was friendly but parking is not so great, especially when they are busy. Street parking only and it can be slim, especially on street sweep days. Cute shop but be weary if staying away from dairy.
