Ate here while staying at the attached Angad Arts hotel on business. There is always something new to see every time you turn around in the ground floor here. I had the chicken Marsala. I do not like potatoes so I subbed couscous on recommendation from the bartender and it was a great companion for the chicken. I would definitely come back again!

PERFECT dinner before a show at The Fox. Food was delicious and service was spectacular. They made sure to get our order in before a large party of 17 which was highly appreciated. A friend and I were also celebrating our November birthdays and they made sure to take special care of us! The Campfire Martini was absolutely delicious and ranks as one of my top 10 old fashioned's.

My husband and I came here before a show at the Fox and it was the perfect location! The service was great and they were on top of it as everyone was in there to go to the show after dinner. My husband's burger and the Reggiano crusted chicken was pretty good. I typically don't like my espresso martinis creamy but the peppermint I really enjoyed in this one!

This restaurant was in a cool hotel with fun art right near the symphony hall and was a great place to have dinner before a concert. Go early so you have enough time to eat! Service was friendly and I thought it was a nice pace - not too fast, not too slow. Cocktail and wine menu were varied and high quality. Menu accommodates a wide variety of diets and everyone in my group found something they were happy with. Great spot to check out, highly recommended!

Had a reservation here for 3 friends, to have a meal before a show at the Fox. The cocktails were DELICIOUS and the food was good. There wasn't so much food that we needed to take any home with us. The atmosphere was nice. We shared the Spinach Artichoke Dip and it was tasty. I ordered the Pan Seared Red Snapper which was GREAT, though the couscous was rather lacking in flavor. When we went to pay, we were told they were short on bills and might get only $1 bills in return. It took a long time to get the bill paying taken care of, and we were the LAST ones out of the restaurant. We had given ourselves an hour and a half at the restaurant, and almost didn't make it into the show in time. That's pretty slow service overall. For the price, it was too slow IMO.

Fry appetizer is a must! These are amazing and I am drooling just thinking about them.

Food was fabulous. The wait time for it though was not. There was a large wedding in the hotel, and that effected the wait time for restraunt. When we arrived for our reservation the restraunt was empty, yet we were seated at the very back.

Came to Commonwealth before heading to The Fox. We had a few drinks (which were well made), dinner and dessert. Waitress was attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious and the fries were to die for! It did take a little longer to get the food, so give yourself time to sit and enjoy the cool vibes. We will definitely be back.

We had tickets to the Fox and needed a quick bite before the show. Audrey was our server and was hospitable and friendly from start to finish. She made excellent recommendations from their menu. The space is casual with a light upscale vibe. We highly recommend the truffle fries. The aioli was probably the best I've had in a while. Creamy and herbaceous and a perfect compliment to the crisp fries! For entrees the shrimp and grits came highly recommended. There was a generous portion of creamy grits. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The sauce had all the flavor notes necessary to qualify as true shrimp and grits. The only downside was the salt was a little heavy handed, otherwise a tasty filling meal.

Planned this for a date night prior to heading to a night at the Symphony. The dining room is nicely decorated and located in the Angad Arts hotel, so the "cool factor" is pretty high! The service was top notch and our drinks were fantastic. We had the Cosmo and The Classic. Dinner took a bit longer than anticipated to arrive once we ordered, but not terrible and well worth the wait. We had the Snapper and the Lamb T-bone. We greatly enjoyed both. Very nice room and a great menu. This will be on the short list cut time we head to Grand Center for Jazz or Orchestra.

A friend and I went to Commonwealth before a Fox show last night. We made reservations but probably not necessary for two people since we arrived pretty early! It is really cool looking and the bar looked fully stocked. We each started off with a drink, I got the Mezcal Sour, and my friend got the Violette Cosmo. Both were delicious and strong enough, which I love! The bread they gave us was really nice with soft butter. We got the spinach artichoke dip which was absolutely delicious, a bit rich and definitely more food than we needed. For dinner, we split a burger and fries. Burger was super messy but huge and tasted great! The fries and aioli were perfect. Our server was also very kind and enthusiastic. I would definitely recommend for dinner and drinks before the Fox!

We will definitely be coming back to try more on the commonwealth menu! We split a salad, flatbread, and truffle fries (not pictured) and everything was good!! I would say these weren't their specialties, but we also didn't want to eat too much because we were going out to meet friends for drinks afterward, so that's saying something skewed our order. Overall, no notes on the salad or the fries. The flatbread could've used a bit more flavor, but it was still very good. The vibe is classy but not black tie or dressy. I went in jeans and a sweater and I didn't feel under or over dressed. Overall, looking forward to coming back to try their signature dishes, and will definitely be back.

I had breakfast at Commonwealth last week when staying at Angad Arts Hotel for one night. The service from my waitress was excellent, and the food was great and fast! I wanted to try the Strata but it was out, so I went with my second choice, the English Fry Up. I had it with scrambled eggs, two sausage patties, two strips of bacon, and mushrooms and tomatoes. It was excellent! A very simple but well prepared, hearty breakfast which covered all the bases you need to get the day started right. The restaurant itself is beautiful and is "so St. Louis" in its architecture and updated art deco design. I highly recommend Commonwealth and look forward to returning again when back home in STL!

Ive had this place on my lists to try for quite some time. The ambiance of this place is perfect for a quaint dinner. They have an amazing menu and an even better cocktail menu. Since I'm expecting, I was very happy to see they had a NA section for a drink as well. We ordered the cheese plate as an appetizer and it was delicious! I ordered the curry and my cousin ordered the scallops. Mine was delicious and my cousin loved her dish. It was such a great place with the perfect ambiance, amazing service and great food. I'll be coming back here soon to try the other menu items.

Moody lighting, cozy corners, and an effortlessly cool vibe make it the kind of spot where time slows down in the best way. We stopped in for their Sunday late night happy hour (8-11pm) and honestly? Hidden Gems in St. Louis -- and darling, the name is not exaggerating…read more I had the absolute pleasure of attending a birthday celebration here and let me tell you... this place is a vibe, a moment, and a whole sparkling experience. The space is intimate, stylish, and perfectly appointed -- the kind of place that feels like you've stumbled into a secret little jewel box in the city. It's cozy in the best possible way, with an atmosphere that invites laughter, celebration, and maybe just a little fabulous mischief. The bartenders? Absolute pros. Warm, welcoming, and clearly masters of their craft. Naturally, I ordered my classic gin and tonic, and it was perfection in a glass -- crisp, balanced, and exactly what a proper G&T should be. I heard from the birthday boy and his wonderful wife that the owners were incredibly accommodating, and you could feel that hospitality throughout the entire evening. Everything felt effortless and welcoming -- the kind of place where people clearly care about creating a great night. And then... the party truly began. We had drag queens serving glamour and joy, music, laughter echoing through the room, and pizza delivered from the birthday boy's favorite local pizza spot that honestly deserves its own standing ovation. If you want to know where that pizza came from, drop a comment -- because it was outrageously good. By the end of the night I couldn't stop thinking: this place really is a Hidden Gem. A perfect little pocket of St. Louis where good drinks, great people, and a bit of fabulous chaos come together. Sparkle-tastic. Gem-tastic. Pure joy. One of the biggest perks of Hidden Gems is their back room, which allows them to host events and fun pop-up experiences. I've been to a few, and most recently attended the "Taylor Swift: Bejeweled" experience. The space was decked out in all things Taylor, with every era clearly represented. Giant friendship bracelets hung from the ceilings and lined the walls, which was such a fun touch. And of course, there were plenty of photo ops with my close personal bff, Taylor herself! The drink menu was themed to match the eras, with tons of creative options. My friends and I tried several cocktails, along with a few NA options as well. I really appreciate that they offer non-alcoholic drinks as I've been cutting back on alcohol over the past few months, and it's nice to still have fun choices that actually taste good! The Mirrorball was easily my favorite drink of the night. It tasted just like an orange creamsicle and was served in a disco ball...so good and so fun. My last drink of the night was "So Long London," which was almost like a dessert in a glass. Highly recommend ending your night with that one!

Plain and simple, it felt more like a dark ... room? (Part of the problem I think is that as it was already June, you can forget using the fireplace to lighten the room up) so it felt.. "Small", and I"m going to feel weird saying this... "Romantic Horrorfest". Wait, before you go "wha??", this isnt' necessarily a bad thing. The Taxidermy , the photos on the wall. the fireplace. the VERY (and I mean VERY) dim lighting... The limited seating on the main floor, the one door in and out it had a "wooden cabin feel"..
