Night 2 in Indianapolis took us to The Fountain Room, and honestly, I'd happily go back…read more We had reservations and chose to sit in the bar area, which turned out to be a great call. The restaurant itself is really well designed--traditional meets modern in a way that somehow works. Looking at the tiles and wall coverings individually, you might think, "Oh...interesting choice." But put it all together and it's actually quite harmonious. Design math, apparently. We started with drinks. I had one of their daiquiris, and it was perfect. I'm a whiskey girl, but after some enthusiastic pours the night before, the thought of more whiskey was a hard no. The daiquiri was light, refreshing, and tasty--sweet, but not obnoxiously sweet. And most importantly, it tasted absolutely nothing like whiskey. Mission accomplished. For starters, we ordered the Brie brûlée. I was a fan. The husband was...not. Here's how you do it: take a wedge of their freshly baked toasted bread, slather on some strawberry jam, dip that glorious situation into the pistachio-dusted Brie brûlée, eat, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. I eventually had to intervene with myself. I ordered the beet and peach salad without the beets because, well...gross. The peaches could have been a little riper, but the salad was still really good. Nicely dressed, with candied pumpkin seeds and some kind of soft herbed cheese that pulled everything together. Very tasty, and thankfully no beets were harmed in the making of my dinner. Then came the meatballs. I have never in my life had meatballs that tasted like these, and I mean that as a very good thing. They were herbaceous, tender, with just a hint of sweetness. And somehow, they kept getting better as we ate them. Especially the ones at the bottom, sitting in all that sauce. DO NOT PASS THESE UP. The husband ordered the prime rib, which he rated an 8 out of 10. High praise, friends. This man does not hand out 8s like participation trophies. Service was great, the food was genuinely enjoyable, and the whole experience was exactly what we wanted on our last night in Indy.

Felt like a steak but they only had a 8 oz filet or a 32 oz tomahawk ribeye. Waiter gave us a couple specials and I went with the sea bass. Was delicious Service was ok, had to ask for everything twice. Can I get a soda? 10 minutes go by, hey, can I get that side, then it would come. Same with coffee, but other than that was good Nice inside, has a nautical feel to it. Was good and would recommend

I don't know what's so great about it. I think it's horrible. So the martini had lots of ice bits.. smh are martinis so passé nobody knows how to make a proper one anymore? A bartender/ mixologist should know how. So then it's the Gorgonzola chips. They were good, but you gotta eat them now oysters Rockefeller. It was barely any oyster on the shell calamari I thought for me we know it's chewy, but this was beyond the chew. They look good they look better than they taste..now those crabcakes should've been browned on both sides I don't eat meat so I can't comment on it, but I had the salmon it was OK, but it was just the sauce. It was pretty flavorless and mostly oil. Well, one of my friends love their pork chop. My other friend said her steak was OK and another friend had a center lamb chops back. She wanted them cook more which I didn't agree with, but she had to eat them.. so c'est la vie. Y'all rotten potatoes were swimming in oil nothing but oil they were flavorless and so were the scallops and the sauce was broken to boot lots of little clumps of oil and cream. Something went wrong in the kitchen with those potatoes, they shouldn't have been allowed out of the kitchen. They were epic fail. The waitstaff wearing black works..I like the uniformity of it, but not when it's faded dingy worn out black. There's a wait person at Geraldine's that needs to drop her hemline done a tad it doesn't fit in with the supper club theme. Some may say it's about the food and it is and it's also about the people that prepare it and serve it. They aren't exempt they're part of the review.. that being said there was a nice young lady that works there and when I pulled up, I called the restaurant to make sure I was in an OK parking spot she came outside to reassure me that I was ok and that was greatly appreciated. The crusty bread is good. I brought some home and heated it up and had it with a cup of coffee. All in all I won't go back there's no need.

It is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of The InterContinental hotel. The host stand for the restaurant is located directly across from what appeared to be the guest check-in desk. It was a little confusing. Several of the items on the menu were very appealing, the B&B Omelet, Croque Monsieur, and Ribeye French Dip to name a few, but I opted for the Little Gem Caesar with Blackened Salmon. My husband ordered The Traveler with eggs over-medium. Everything was perfectly prepared. The proportions for the salad were just right and the salmon was juicy, flavorful and crisp from the blackening. My husband wasn't expecting the somewhat unique preparation of the breakfast potatoes, but I found them to be satisfyingly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I also ordered the seasonal Strawberry Margarita with a sugar rim. It was light and refreshing. The atmosphere is very chic, stylish and feels very upscale. The dining room, and even the restrooms, boast this amazing natural light from all of the great, big windows! Our server, Roop, was kind and attentive and the hostess was warm and inviting. We will definitely return to try some of the other offerings in the future. Very cute brunch spot!
