This is my new favorite cafe and It's in a good location. They have a parking lot and a drive thru, which I think is cool given that Command Coffee is not a chain. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Command Coffee yet! I love this former-Starbucks-&-dentist-building-turned-local-coffee-shop. I've visited several times and it was a stop on the Indy Caffeine Trail as well. They use their own roasted beans. It has the feel of a Starbucks, but with local quality drinks. And they have a drink-thru for convenience! I am a fan of the lattes and Macchiatos. My husband always gets the Command Cup, it is a drip coffee with a double shot of espresso. If they aren't sold out, I grab my favorite, a local 4 Birds Maple Oat Cookie, too. The baristas are always super friendly. They are open late on the weeknights until 7pm. And very early (4:30am) - yikes! That makes me tired to think about it, but great for those working at the hospital down the road. read more

I don't know what took so long to visit. I drive by and always think "I need to give that place a try" and then keep driving. I finally decided to it was time and am I glad. The staff were very friendly upon my arrival. I was the only one there so I did not feel rushed. I selected a sugar free caramel latte, because who else has sugar free caramel! I was pleasantly surprised to find they also carry almond milk, as I've found most places have moved to oat or coconut as their milk alternatives. My beverage was ok, nothing special about it. The space is great, aside from giving off the old Starbucks vibe. I love the plants and the large, comfy chairs. This is most certainly a space I could work from in comfort. read more

Although I don't grab coffee to go while I am out exploring (not very often) I wanted to support one of the coffee shops and pick up a bag of freshly roasted and ground beans for my home use and talked my wife into heading passed all the downtown construction to try out Command. Instead of using the drive rhru, She parked in one of the spots out front. Once inside, I found the area small, bright, and clean inside. Some patrons seemed to be enjoying the limited seating with plenty of spacing that I didn't feel like I was intruding on their space/conversations. There is an order counter with some display cases and menu boards along the wall with most of the pricing and options. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, (mid morning) I didn't see much to order/choose for dining other than the liquid side of the menu. As I entered, I saw the bags of beans ready for customers to use at home. Unfortunately, Command only makes light and dark roast while I prefer medium roast. I asked (just to be sure I wasn't missing something) and the staff confirmed they only have the two options on their beans. Fortunately, they offer complementary grinding and so I chose the dark and found it not too strong this morning when I made my own cup at home. Nice flavor on the Colombian Supremo. no bitterness. As far as food items, all I saw were some cupcakes and some 4 Bird cookies which I selected two. (Too bad the FS storefront of 4 birds doesn't sell retail ( at least not whenever I have stopped by.) Fortunately, Command had a small selection of cookies right at the counter and I could easily check them out in time to place them with my coffee order. service was quick and friendly, and helpful, but again, I was just getting the coffee, nothing else to eat besides the cookies, so I would say that the wait time was what I would expect. Not sure using a drive thru would have been any faster. I was pleased that access in and out of the lot was not a problem despite this location being at a busy intersection along Fall Creek & 29th. I was in need of a quick caffeine fix with limited time and remembered that I've been meaning to check out this new-ish coffee shop that opened during COVID. They offer drive thru and that is hard to come by when looking to support local coffee only. I can think of about four or five other local drive thru coffee shops in Central Indiana and none located in the downtown area. Service was very efficient through the drive thru and I was able to order my cappuccino with oat milk and be back in the road within five minutes. I noticed that they also offer a variety of eats like grain bowls and cookies from Four Birds Bakery (local). The only reason I didn't add the fifth star was the vibe and customer service felt less friendly and engaging than some other local coffee shops. Half the fun of a coffee shop for me is the experience with the other half being the coffee. Maybe it was the setting of the drive thru? I'll return soon to try out their indoor space! read more

This has become a new favourite spot for sure. The people who work here are so unbelievably friendly, and have great recommendations. This visit I tried an espresso Frappuccino with toffee nut (on recommendation from the barista). I will be honest I wasn't expecting much because I'm usually not a big fan of Frappuccinos but... this was so good! You get the great, deep and earthy taste of the espresso while still enjoying the benefits of the texture and coolness of a frapp. It was not cloyingly sweet, like at Starbucks. I am definitely going to go back and order this again! So they also have seasonal mochas; my husband enjoys those as they are sweeter. Right now it's Irish cream. read more

Needed some coffee, so stopped at their drive through. This was long ago, a Starbucks location, abandoned, then renovated. The coffee I had, an Americano, was good. Not stellar, not jet propelled, and of a lighter roast than expected. It was certainly better than Starbucks, just not the artisan roast at the artisan price paid. It's a better option than Starbucks, but they have serious competition for artisanry and could improve their game. Or, perhaps I'm spoiled by the three serious roasters in Bloomington, where I live and work. Could be the case. read more

Fantastic atmosphere hosting all the goodies and exquisite Cherry Bean (coffee is a cherry fruit!) brews needed to make the easy choice for caffeine intake. I tried the seasonal mocha blueberry latte with coconut milk, found it beyond delightful and properly mixed a day later without any settling which is very rare for coffee shops. Also a treat seeing they have many alternative milk options, special touch with oat, coconut, and oat. Major kudos as well to the interior which was decorated up to the nines like a sophisticated bar for the masses. Wish I could have stayed and enjoyed the neat lighting and comfortable corner. Can highly recommend for all the reasons above, friendly staff, and smart pricing unlike other downtown establishments pushing a large drink near double digits. read more

I am a command coffee fan! I think my boyfriend is tired of hearing the words "can we stop by Command on the way?" haha. But it works out because he likes going there as well (he loves getting the iced tea lemonade). The things I love about Command Coffee: -The prices! After being inundated with Starbucks prices and downtown coffee shop prices, this is a breath of relief. -The make of the drinks- often times I am hesitant to order sweetened lattes because some places make them wayyy too sweet, but this place sweetens them perfectly! I was very happy. I always get the lavender latte. -The hours! This cafe opens suupppeerr early, which is something that is hard to find around here. This is very helpful! -The location- they are located at the perfect intersection that I pass every time I go from downtown up to Keystone to go grocery shopping or go up to Carmel. -The ability to sit and work inside, AND the option to do drive-through. I hadn't swung through this coffee shop in a long while (since around when they first opened) and was pleasantly surprised at the menu as it was better than I'd remembered. They have a vegan breakfast burrito which is such a cool option to see at a local shop. It was a tofu scramble with mushrooms - much more interesting and tasty than I expected! I also got an iced pistachio latte with oat milk and it was better than Starbucks. Super friendly service and a punch card reward system too! The word must of gotten out about Command coffee. The drive through the day I decided to try it was super busy. No problem, just grabbed my mask and headed inside. The inside was empty aside for the three employees waiting on the drive through customers and making the drinks. The menu is pretty standard coffee shop fare. They do have a seasonal mocha that changes monthly. For March it is an Irish creme mocha. I decided to go with the seasonal mocha. It was a short wait for my coffee. While waiting I took a little tour around the inside. It's small but there is enough seating for several groups and individuals. Good to know for future trips after covid. The drink was pretty amazing. They do have multiple sizes including a 20 oz because some days we could all use a little extra caffeine!! All in all love this little spot and pretty pumped that it has a drive thru and is on my way to work for when we finally do get to head back to the office. I will be sure if I'm being lazy and going through the drive through to add a little extra time due to the extreme popularity of Command coffee. I've stopped by here the past 2 days since the area was less congested since it's a holiday weekend. The staff were very friendly and quick however the quality of the product doesn't seem as good as it was a few months ago. I tried the mocha latte and holiday cinnamon bun latte. They were both made well but I wasn't blown away by the lattes. I also ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese which was just okay. Tried their new seasonal mocha, which is Toffee Nut Mocha. It has a very sweet, strong flavor. Would definitely not be my go-to, but was a decadent treat. Their Instagram is active and involved, which I love. I saw that they posted just because something isn't on the menu, doesn't mean they can't do it - encouraged people to tell them what their "usual" is. The menu posted still shows breakfast selections, but they are still unavailable. They told us they are still working on ingredients and recipes, and will work on modifying the drive-thru menu to signify that. I drive past this place everyday on my way to and from work and finally stopped in today. It's nice inside, there is a long bar you can sit at and other tables and such. When I was in, there were a few younger kids with their parents studying and quietly reading so it certainly seemed family friendly. Price is comparable to Starbucks I think, we got a 16 oz (grande size) iced chai tea latte with oat milk, 16 oz hot chocolate, chocolate muffin and a slice of cheese cake for ~$18 (part of this was a tip). It was all really good--the cheesecake especially was a pleasant surprise, I didn't really expect it to be as good as it was. The workers were friendly and despite the fact that there were only 2 people working, it was fairly quick! It was decently busy and we only waited maybe 5-7 minutes or so. Cute chill spot. I always pass it but decided to stop because I need a new coffee place. The seasonal drinks are good, but even with only half of the sweetness it's still too sweet for me. I enjoyed my brown sugar latte. Ample seating and outlets, which is the first thing I always look for. They have a solid parking lot and even outdoor seating for those nicer warm days. The food looks good, I'll have to try it next time. Just coffee today. Solid new coffee shop on Fall creek and college intersection. Will say that this review is tentative based on not having had food, certain drinks at this point, but wanted to place the review to give some props. Unique in that the location has a drive through, is locally owned, roasts their own beans, and has a food menu as well (avocado toast, egg bites, etc). I had the cold brew coffee, comes in 16 and 24 ounce sizes, which was good. Not the most phenomenal cold brew but certainly smooth, strong, and if there is a coffee drink that I am snobbier on than most-its cold brew. Very convenient location and for covid with drive thru. Interesting because some of the normal things I look for in coffee shop (indoor vibes, work atmosphere) i basically am not taking into account because of pandemic. Also no food at this point in time, though coming soon, so did not try. Thus incomplete review as above which could move as I return a few more times. I was in the area and wanted an iced coffee and a spot to chill in between meetings. Command is easy to get in and out of and has nice parking and drive thru. The inside is very nicely decorated and the staff greet you right away. As I had not been before I asked the barista for a recommendation. They suggested a seasonal iced pistachio latte. The drink didn't take long at all to make and was around $6 for a 12oz. They ask your name and call it out when ready. I found a nice comfy seat. They had outdoor seats as well. The space was very clean as well as the restrooms. I didn't love my drink thus four stars but I would be willing to try something else! read more

I'm very in the middle about this place, service is super slow, both inside and through drive through, the staff was rude to me when I went, I felt like they were so annoyed at me for asking questions. I like how it's a very instagramable place, pretty chill, you can work there. My favorite thing is the chocolate chai latte, it's the best chai I've had. I paid almost $6 for a croissant with sausage, egg, and cheese, I do not think it is worth the price as it is so small. We pass this coffee place all the time and finally stopped in for some coffee. It is on a busy road but as plenty of entrances to pull in. We also decided to stop because it has a nice drive thru. This is my absolute favorite coffee shop. The prices are so reasonable and the products are always amazing and high quality. I've never gotten a drink that I didn't like!! The menu has so much variety & there's something for everyone. There's good seating indoors with a lot of outlets allowing you to come in and work for a while. As with any coffee shop, some days are harder to find seats than others but that goes to show how popular Command Coffee is! The drive-thru is also always available and is a speedy option if you're in a rush. The monthly rotation of specialty mochas is always fun to pay attention to and try out. I also want to point out how kind the owner is. You can tell how passionate he is about his work. Every time I come in and he happens to be working, I'm always so happy to hear how respectful and friendly he is to every person walking through the doors. I would have settled for any coffee shop in the Mapleton - Fall Creek Neighborhood, but Command delivers fantastic coffee and service. I've enjoyed each coffee drink I've had, including drip coffee, lattes and cold brew. They also have breakfast pastries and Core Life Salads packed to-go for lunch. There's ample space to work or enjoy your drink in the shop, and I'm looking forward to sitting outside once the weather is consistently warm. The staff are warm and welcoming! And they're patient when I can't decide what to order. My only wish is for the shop to collaborate with local, or up and coming bakeries, for baked goods. ... and the hottest new coffee spot is Command Coffee. It's this place inside of an old Starbucks turned into a denture office and now back into a coffee place. The poetry of a local place moving into a former Starbucks is kind of great. I have been excited about them moving into the perfect corner of Fall Creek and College for awhile. There isn't anywhere with a drive through close and their hours are great for early birds like me. 4:30 am!? Yes please. Right now only the drive through is open and they have a limited food menu. I opted for a chai and it was perfect. The staff was super kind and welcoming as well. This is going to become by go to spot. I also wanted to recognize three things in these crazy times. First, when you go to their website you will find statements and starting points in conversation around black equity. It's well written and shows that the bones that make up this new business are strong. In addition, they talk about how they treat their people and it sounds great. Finally, it's clear that they're taking COVID seriously. I get it... Opening during these times are hard. I've seen some new to Indy places over the past few months be downright irresponsible. Very convenient drive thru coffee on the way to work for me. They have a good selection of coffee drinks and seasonal mochas as well as a few pastries and core life bowls for later in the day. The inside is very trendy but I usually go for the drive thru, it moves quickly although sometimes there can be a longish line. This is my 3rd time here; earlier I went here during a blizzard when most businesses were shut down and the streets weren't plowed (I work in healthcare so had to get to work despite the hazardous driving conditions). There was someone cleaning up the store and was about to close it down but he opened up for me and made me a coffee and heated up some food which was so sweet. read more
