The short version, "Excellent!". The job was to replace my very old and failing Air Conditioner and Furnace with a new system. The process started when I called Steven Conner of Comfort Connection for an estimate, and we talked about the basics of what I needed done. We also talked about some of the options that were available and what I might want. Steven made himself very available over the phone as I had questions, once even over the weekend. Once I had a rough idea of what I was interested in, he came out for a written estimate. Since we had talked on the phone beforehand, this process went pretty quickly and he soon had the written estimate to me via email. Later, I decided to make a change to the original estimate, so he worked with me via phone and had the modified estimate out to me shortly. I will also mention that Steven worked with me on the system price and modifications that I wanted, and the price came out very reasonable. I have to say that I was lucky, as his crew was doing an installation in the area very shortly after I sent back the approved estimate and Steven called me to see if it was a good time to do my installation also. Things went in pretty quickly, although his crew ran into some issues with the base of the old furnace, since the garage concrete had apparently been poured after the original furnace was installed. However, his crew worked around this issue, installed the furnace, the line set, and readied the A/C unit for installation. Since furnace installation took longer than expected due to the garage concrete issue, they needed to come back the next day to complete the A/C installation. The crew tested the furnace before they left and the furnace worked well and looked good (very professional), in case I needed it overnight. The next morning, the crew came back to vacuum the lines and finish the A/C installation. That went pretty quickly. Everything was up and running by midday. After completion, everything is working very well, and the modifications that I wanted are also installed and working. I like to sleep in a lower temperature, and the new system brings the house down to that temperature with no problem! Everything looks very professional and much better than the old system. We highly recommend Steven and his professional crews. Our gas furnace had become unreliable and we could not trust it thru the upcoming winter. After researching online I reviewed Yelp because I wanted to find a company that did not pay to advertise how "great they are. Yelp reviews are not paid reviews. Comfort Connection owner responded quickly and scheduled an appointment on Saturday, even though I was willing to wait until a normal business work day. Stephen provided a very thorough inspection and because our system was original to the house (1979 he recommended not wasting money on the old inefficient Furnace. He provided three options, good , better and best without any pressure to upsell. Our home had an existing AC unit that was working and Steven indicated they functioned differently than our furnace and did not necessarily need to be replaced with the new furnace which impressed me about not trying to upsell me. After more research and getting bids from two other highly rated companies (that I had to wait almost two weeks for them to actually provide bids ) all my questions had been answered to my satisfaction it was an easy decision to have Comfort Connection do the job. We decided to upgrade my whole system including the AC so everything was matched and guaranteed. The job was completed September, 2020. The team Austin,Cody and Sergei were very prompt and professional and nice guys. My existing duct work was not up to their standard once the removed the old system and they reworked and replaced it without additional cost to me. ( I was happy to make a parts run to the supplier) We could not be happier! Our whole home is better than we ever imagined, no hot and cold spots, no drafts and constant even heat. Best Honest Service I Have Ever Experienced In PDX Sunday Morning Thanksgiving Weekend 5am - Coldest Day of the Year - Furnace Won't Ignite - 90 Year old house - tempatire inside aproaching tempature outside. As a DYI - Father of 3 /money's super tight - I spent several hours deducing what was working and what was not - but could not fix it in the end. My Wife's patience was running out along with everyone's body tempature - she searched and said call Steve at Comfort Connection as he had the best reviews by far online. Reluctantly I called Steve to come out on a Sunday Morning - Steve asked me several questions - I explained to him all I had tried. He asked me send a quick photo of the inside of the Furnace. He then asked me test the induction hose and quickly deduced it was a simple fix due to the blocked hose intake. 5 Minutes - One Large Paper Clip and Razor Later - the furnace was heating house and family - he simply walked me through the fix. He knew the furnace model well and knew the common issue it has - he could have easily come out on a Sunday Morning and charged me up the Whazoo as I couldn't figure it out. You definitlely don't see that kind of honest help and decency everyday - it was incredibly generous of him to give me his time and wisdom and help me quickly fix a nightmare situation on the coldest Sunday of the year. Stupid Murphy's Law: you need an appliance to work properly, and that's right when it fails. Our (original to our mid-1980s house) furnace chose to crap out as last week's temperatures took a downward turn. Monday around noon I invested some time reading google and yelp reviews. Finally, I called Steven Conner at Comfort Connection. Steven came over later that same day, examined the old furnace, diagnosed the issue, and painstakingly explained why we'd be feeding our money to the garbage bin to attempt its repair. My spouse and I opted for a new furnace, and Steven's team swept in the following day. Cody and Steffen worked with pleasant promptness, efficiency, and peerless workmanship. They explained things as they went, but never abused the time spent talking with me, and left the work area when finished Wednesday in a state cleaner than it was before their arrival Tuesday afternoon. We had a great experience with this company from start to finish. Steven came out the same week we contacted him to give us an estimate and they installed the AC the next week! Super fast. Steven also felt really trustworthy -- He talked us through options and didn't ever try to "upsell." And he encouraged us to get other quotes (which we didn't because we liked him so much lol). His team was on time, super friendly & respectful of our home -- And safe! They had hand sanitizer with them, wore masks, and wiped down handles they had touched when they were finished. Jan. 9th, 2017 7:00 A.M. Lost heat in our home for three days. Had other tech's out to fix Furnace, they miss diagnosed the problem and only replaced parts that still didn't fix the furnace, $1,000 later still no heat. Searched the internet for company that had best reviews, and comfort connection came up. I called Steve at CC and even though ice storm had iced up the streets, and they were busier then a one armed brick layer, because of ice storm, Steve said he would come out, just needed a cup of coffee to get going. Sure enough 9:30 A.M. he showed up and by 11:00 A.M. had fixed the problem. He even called other tech Company up to help get our money back. A year ago I had an old furnace go out and didn't have a lot of money to work with to replace it. We had bids from a handful of good companies but none of them came close to what Steve was able to do the job for. Save your time shopping around because no one will be able to beat the price he will provide to get the job done. This doesn't mean it is done with an inferior product or service; to the contrary we had a Lennox furnace installed and asked Steve to take care of things which were above and beyond the service agreed upon which he did without question. (ie a new location for the filters that allowed easier access) He can do this because he has less overhead than everyone else. I made an appointment for 11:00 with Stephen. He didn't show up at appointed time. I waited over 1 1/2 hours before I called to ask if he was coming. He said he would be over in 20 minutes. He said that he would give me a $500.00 discount for causing me inconvenience. When he showed up he gave me a quote for A/C and furnace. I had just received a quote for from another company so I told him that his quote was almost twice as much. He then started telling me that he didn't believe me and repeated this several times. I am an honest person and certainly not one to appreciate being called a liar. He was very late, rude and belligerent. There is no way that I would do business with him. I never write a review so this is a big deal for me. I had a few things that needed be done in my house. I searched and looked at different companies and got quotes. At every step of of this process Comfort Connection was at the top. They are honest and they are not out there to take advantage of you.They quoted a fair price, much lower than the others. However the workmanship, the attention to work and the care to our home was excellent. They checked our air conditioner and made recommendations and gave options as it is an older unit. After many years of $300+ /month winter gas bills and thermostat set to 65, we decided to get a new furnace. Comfort Connection gave a competitive bid for the furnace replacement but what set them apart was that Steve analyzed the whole system. Return ducts had been ridiculously under-sized and badly placed by the original home-builder. Steve was able to solve the duct problems, replace the furnace, and advise on future improvements (insulation, which he also would have done if I was ready), all within 1.5 days. My HVAC died the Sunday before the hottest day on record. I called 16 people from google, 4 from Craigslist, no one answered, much less helped. Steven and his crew were excellent. Steven's solution to air condition my old 1920s house was by far the cheapest and most sensible and has worked like a charm even in high 90s weather. It was a fairly difficult mechanical puzzle to sort out how to get duct work through gabled areas, avoid asbestos and a chimney in the way.
