Comcast increased my internet monthly rate after the year long reduced rate that I had. Fine. I call them to get a better rate, ultimately deciding not to sign up for a year long obligation - I figured I would just switch to a different provider when I return from some travel I have coming up soon. They sent me a big box in the mail as if I had changed my service with them, in spite of my specifically saying - no, I do not want this new rate. When I called to ask they said - it's okay - we won't charge you, you can just return the box to a comcast store. No respect for my time or for what I specifically asked for. I will be canceling my Comcast when I return from my travels. I'd do it tonight but I have roommates that I can't leave without internet for a month and a half. I did not want to choose any stars because my experience was so incredibly bad, but Yelp wouldn't let me. I am a widowed low-income senior living in Oakland. When I signed up for the low-income internet service "Internet Essentials" I was told I would receive 2 months free due to the Covid pandemic. It took 20 phone calls, 6 weeks and 3 service calls to get the service working. When I received the bill, guess what? No free months. I have just spent an hour texting with a worker and her supervisor to get what I was promised. I was income shamed ("You are getting a low price, why should we give you anything else?" - type attitude) plus other nonsensical b.s. Why anyone would do business with this company is beyond me. I'm switching to AT&T as soon as I can and plan to bring this up with the city council. They SUCK. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have been with Comcast for 10 years. This summer we turned off cable and upgraded to faster internet. All of a sudden the internet was inconsistent. It would drop 4-5 times per day. The tech experience was lackluster. They just sent some updates to my modem which seemed to fix the problem for about a day. And back to dropping multiple times per day. I work from home so this is not acceptable. I looked for other providers but there really were no options. This fall, Wave installed services and so I switched. I am paying HALF of what I was paying with Comcast and the internet is fast and works. I have had zero problems. So I cancel my service and now Comcast wants me to pay $200 for early termination (forget that I was a 10 year customer) because apparently I got a new contract when I cancelled cable and upgraded to internet that did not work properly. The online chat experience with Comcast was horrible. I had a nice girl for phone support that could do nothing. Her manager was absolutely horrible..I could barely understand anything she said and she clearly would not listen to my story and just wanted to tell me it was a contract and I had to pay it. Now I am waiting for another call back. I guess 10 years of customer loyalty does nothing. And I don't care if it is the only option at my next home....I will NEVER use them again. This is the LAST company I would get my internet service from. Several weeks ago my internet started acting up. If finally got to the point that I had to reset the modem every morning and occasionally in the evening. I called Comcast and they sent out a technician...a RESIDENTIAL technician. He said all my wiring was fine and it had to be the modem, however, since he was a residential technician, he didn't have the business modems. He put in a call and waited for an HOUR for a return call telling me when I would receive my new modem. They never called. He had to be on his way, but said expect a modem in a day or two. It never came. After a week or two, I called and scheduled another appointment. It was scheduled for 10am-12pm (guaranteed LOL) on 6/17 (a Saturday). I received a call on Friday night reminding me of my appointment. I received a call on Saturday morning reminding me of my appointment. NO ONE SHOWED UP! I called in and the automated voice asked if I was calling about my Monday appointment from 10-12? NO. I got hold of a representative and they put an "emergency outage" call in, gave me a confirmation number (ER042446407) and told me someone should be here from 3pm-5pm. NO ONE SHOWED UP! I then called again and was told that they had no one in my county today and that's why it was moved to Monday. I took my modem to the local Comcast store. Sorry, they don't have business modems. I said, well, screw it, make it a residential account and give me one of those modems. Sorry, that takes up to 72 hours to switch you over. What kind of business is this? No internet for SEVERAL DAYS??? Pathetic. I'm shaming every internet rating site I can today. It's my mission. read more

My service has been intermittent since I signed up. I have stayed home for 10 visits to get it fixed and after 10 visits, it's still not working. When I call up for support, I always have to start with the people who insist on spending 30 minutes unplugging the power and all the cables, because, what the heck, it might work this time.... or not! When I call the retention department to complain and to at least get a price adjustment to my bill they tell me (and this is a direct quote) "We can't make an adjustment until your service is working". Notice the circularity here: they can't fix my service and won't adjust what they charge me until they fix the service. I would switch to AT&T, but they were worse. read more

They set me up for an appointment today 1pm-3pm and guess what nobody went here and knocked at the door, nobody tried calling somebody in the house. Unfortunately Comcast is a dishonest company. For your own sake please note that some of their "promo" rates, featured prominently online, are only introductory rates and are much lower than their actual ongoing rates. The actual rates for their plans are made quite inaccessible on their website. So if you subscribe please be aware that after awhile you will be paying substantially more. In other cases they insist on locking into contracts. As an alternative note that there are a great number of TV shows, movies, and sports events available online. Some of it is free and some of it costs money but a GREAT deal less than a Comcast subscription (even for "promo" rates). read more

We have lived in our house and have been using comcoast since 2008 and longer if we include our first house, when we call them they say 'thank you for being a loyal customer since 2017. Our service is spotty but we will have decent stretches with it working well so I know it can work well. After having no issues for about 2 years the internet service started to fail. We noticed even thought we signed up for the fastest service option they had two years ago we were not at such a low speed they no longer provide it. I went online and paid for a new package and decided to have someone come to my house to help install the equipment since we have had issues in the past. I made arrangements for the appointment slot and they decided not to even show. A few days later our service died completely. I called in and they said so sorry no one can come out for ~ 3 days even though they failed to come to the appointment I had set 4 days period. I asked to escalate and they refused telling me I would get the same answer and if I wanted to talk to a Supervisor the wait was an hour. My husband went to the comcast store in Concord, CA. After we trouble shooted for 2 hours on the phone they said it was because we had old equipment - 2 years old. My daughter had to miss school classes and I could not take video work calls for several hours. My husband got to the Concord store at 10am when it opened and the line was 12 deep with two agents. The agent who provided service was very nice. He came home with our new equipment and our more expensive lines and our internet coverage is still terrible. I am now evaluating other options. They are zero in customer service, they don't care at all, they know they have a monopoly so they can care less how bad the service is. read more

Very poor service, and sneaky, unprofessional employees. The Comcast internet wire is touching the roof line and I wanted it to be relocated so that I could repair my roof per contractor request. I was given an appointment between 8 Am and 5 PM. I actually wrote it down on paper. At 5 I called and a man with an Indian accent insisted that it was between 8 AM to 8 PM. FIne I waited till 8 and no one showed up. Arthur, another Indian accent, badge number 1014122477 at 800-266-2278, pulled the same trick and said that my appointment was 8 am to 10 PM. I said no way. He then said that the technician showed up at 10 am, but I was outside washing my car between 930 to 10AM. What was the report. There was actually no report and no show. I have been with them for years and when I need service this si what happened. No show, no contact, totally ignored the fact that I had to take time off from work and had to arranged for a colleague to cover me. read more

What a terrible company. You'll sign up at one price. Then, a series of "billing errors" will have to be corrected -- always where the errors benefited them. At the end of your first contract, you'll see a large rate increase. When you call to ask about a lower price, the initial customer service rep will just play stupid, saying there's nothing she can do and recommending that you instead sign up for a bunch of "deals" that are all at higher prices. Eventually, you'll ask to cancel. Only then will you be connected to someone who cares at all about making you happy. She'll finally give you another package you can deal with -- but of course you'll have to go through the aggravation again in a year. read more

Comcast where do I begin horrible customer service, if you can get through to anyone and when you do they are usually outsourced and laugh at your request. I am a long time customer and have been making payment arrangements on past due for quite awhile since I am a one income household. The last two months I call get the automated system tell them the date i want to make my payment they say ok but we need your payment information I give it to them and then it comes back declined. Last month they took the payment early and I had to dispute it. This month they didn't but when I called the automated system it kept saying it was paid which I knew it wasn't but again I had a payment arrangement so no worries right? Wrong they turned it off m y service today I tried calling to let them know I had a payment arrangement and because they identified my number the recording refused to take my call until I gave them my payment info. I had to wait until I got to a number they didn't recognize and say I wanted new service oh I got through then. They handled my issue but by then my blood pressure was way up. You get people that answer that want to make small talk and tell you what a valued customer you are. Then they ask you how much i pay per month shouldn't they know that and I also noticed my bill went up this month 50.00 havn't dealt with that yet. Comcast has repeatedly ignored and disrespected my desire to remove the autopay option on my account. Today 10/4/2021 I had the phone hung up on me twice. I finally spoke to Jeremy in Minneapolis id $m_ Jeremy was very rude condescending and uninterested in attempting to keep my 3 accounts. I have 2 residential accounts and a commercial account. While he was in the retention department he preferred to cancel all accounts rather than attempt to provide a fair and reasonable resolution. I spent close to 10 hours and 2 weeks attempting to resolve a seemingly simple matter. After his feeble attempt to correct the system errors he then said he could not promise that when I went online the fix would work. He said however when I called in the operator would be able to see his changes. However, I called and spoke with more than 6 operators all of whom had no clue how to resolve the system errors I was experiencing. My address shows the green check mark on Comcast website. High speed internet available, all good. I purchase internet package, check out. First available technician appointment one week later. Ok. 2) Tech arrives on time(2 hour window), starts looking for the cable box. Doesn't find it, does not know where Comcast pole is. Calls supervisor, still cannot find it. Creates "ticket" say someone will call in a few hours and leaves. Two days pass, no one calls. I call them. Schedule another appointment 5 days later. Asked the guy to send a more senior tech and inform him in advance about the situation. Wholehearted apology & assurance everything will be OK. 5 days later, tech arrives on time. Clueless. Leaves after walking around the house for a while. 3) I'm getting assigned a "contact person" with extension number and all. He said he'll send a "survey team" to check the area. I ask him if Comcast knows where their own cables run. Doesn't get the joke. 4) 10 days later, survey team reports back - would probably take less time to invade a small country. They report no can't do, if I want internet I will need to support the construction costs of a "few thousand dollars". 5) Cancel & Order DSL. BEWARE Comcast does not let you take your emails and folders with you when you switch your service to another carrier. I've had a Comcast email address for about 20 years and as with any other email mailbox, one creates folders to sort and organize emails...you can't take those with you either. I lost everything I've saved over the years. They did not give me the required "30 days to vacate" either but there was "nothing they could do" and "NOBODY allows you to take your email address wherever you go"...how about yahoo, gmail, aol, etc. This is no less than theft. In the 3 years of Comcast Business I had at least 9 to 10 episodes in which I lost phone, fax and internet service for up to 4 to 6 hours at a time. In a busy business that is disastrous. Staggeringly horrible service in Oakland -- especially over the past 3 or 4 years. I've lived all over the US and have never seen anything quite like the Comcast service here. When we moved here fifteen years ago, our Comcast service, though pricey, was perfectly fine; same with ten years ago. Not anymore! Phone service is still fine, as is cable service, but internet service... SOOOOOOOOOOO bad. We're paying around $200 a month for the privilege of being thrown off whatever website we're visiting or film we're streaming a *minimum* of several times a day -- often dozens upon dozens of times a day. And each tech person who comes to visit says a different thing is wrong and has a different suggestion for how to fix it. (I almost feel sorry for them; the problems aren't their fault.) The fat cats at Comcast should make up their minds: either provide an expensive service that does what we're paying it to do or provide a crummy service for less money. Never ever switch to Comcast XFinity ! The few dollars you save is definitely not worth it !!! Their technicians don't know which end is up. After over 5 different technicians tried to install our cable services, the billing department continues to send bills for service that never started. I spoke to supervisors to no end. They still sent me to collection !!! Then when I finally waste 20 + phone calls to explain that service never connected, they inactivated my account because it had never been activated. So other technicians could not locate me when trying to connect me. Reps seem nice, but just give you lip service. Nobody cares and everyone just passes the buck. The org is too big to understand what one hand is doing. Wait times for customer service is one hour plus. Only after you wait too damn long do they explain that it was somebody else's fault and that someone will get back to you. Nobody ever keeps their word and nobody ever calls you back. The only person that ever calls you back is their collection department. And they make it a point to call you at 6 am and at 11 pm so that they wake you up to harass you. read more

My cable has been out for almost one week now. I had an appointment on Sunday and nobody showed up. When I called to figure out what happened the first woman was sweet but just threw me on another department to give me a deal. How many times does this have to happen. Ewe.
