    Ginger noodle soup
    Sasha H.

One of my favourite pho places. The favours are so tasty. The noodles were super fresh. No frills interior. Quick and friendly service. They bring out a hot cup of water, to clean your utensils in. Note: this place is cash or debit only!

    Hanoi Style Rare Beef Pho

I always order the Hanoi Style Pho when I come to this location, as well as their fresh rolls. Their Hanoi style is not the same as the Hanoi style pho from Vietnam, but thr concept is there. The ginger and broth is soothing and warm especially when you're not feeling very well, and their food is relatively good. Very friendly staff and lots of choices of food to choose from. Overall, a decent place to go to for a decent bowl of pho.

Had take out after work. I got - PH02. Rare Beef with Rice Noodle Soup - PH04. Rare Beef and Flank with Rice Noodle Soup Both with fresh noodles. When I opened the package, I found a thin plastic cover between rare beef and noodle to prevent the bloody meat liquid from penetrating the noodles. Thoughtful. And it was a pleasant surprise to see the generous amount of rare beef pieces. Fresh, thin, and soft. The bean sprouts, sliced onions, and basils were also fresh & crispy. Most importantly, the soup - looked golden and clear with no impurities. The flavor was harmonious, rich, and aromatic with just the right aromatic spices. I especially liked its very subtle sourness. Thought it was from the fish sauce? Delicious. The fresh noodle kept al-dente, springy texture in the soup. Not fragile like dried one. Feeling a bunch of different textures & flavors dancing on the tongue is the best part of eating pho, and this place is doing a great job to offer customers this experience. The only negative was the beef frank - the amount was smaller compared to rare beef, and it was a bit too much tendon part, so it was not the texture I expected. They have an extensive menu. I am thinking about what to try next!

Went here on a Tuesday evening and it was very quiet. The space is rather large but I think there were maybe only one or two other tables occupied. I've been to this restaurant a number of times over the years. The name keeps changing every few years (I think the last name was Peach Garden, and it was something else before that) and I'm not sure if it's because the ownership keeps changing or they just want to refresh their image. Either way it's always been a trusted and no frills Vietnamese spot right by Gerrard Square. This time I decided to try something new and got Banh Hoi for the first time, which are thin vermicelli noodles formed into sheets, which they served with veggies, meat and rice paper rolls. I got BH3 ($18.99) which came with bean curd shrimp, spring roll and grilled pork. The star was definitely the bean curd shrimp, which is something I've never tried before. It tasted like crispy fried shrimp patties, and they were delicious. I had a hard time wrapping my rice paper rolls, but I think that was more user error than anything else. The meal was delicious and filling, if not a little messy. My friend got a vermicelli dish (I think B23 - $15). She said the portion was huge and she enjoyed it as well. One thing to note is another recent time I tried their Pho Ga (chicken pho) and it was a little bland. Disappointing, because it used to be my favourite dish of theirs years ago. Oh well, their vermicelli dishes are great and make up for it in my book. Overall the restaurant is spacious, clean and the food is good. They have raised their prices very recently by a dollar or two on every dish, which makes their prices a little bit less competitive than the other Vietnamese places just north in Chinatown. I can understand that the pandemic has been difficult on this place (as evidenced by how quiet it was when we visited). If you're ever in the area, Com Tam is a decent place to grab their meal.

Fresh noodle lovers ~ this venue offers this as a replacement for the rice dry noodles! Loved how every dish comes out hotttt! Bun bo hue: 9/10 big portions and good flavour Bun cuon: 6/10 decent portion, lack of flavour but came out hot! Rice dish: 9/10 loved the fish cake and their variety platter Bun: 8/10 big portion and flavourful beef rolls *this place only takes cash and debit

Really ? Pad Thai ? I hate to be a hater but it is a lot of negative things I gonna said. Pad Thai go with thick noodles and it need to be dry out. It's basic of pad thai and the thing that im Viet :) cmon if you do it at least do the basic. Service is depend, if you got a girl with haft dye hair (who I unlucky got), you gonna want to go straight to the door and never come back :) with the rest is good. I hope the boss can see this review and "fix" it. I will comeback when you treat me as a customer, not just a ATM. Thank you!

the soup was spicy and I didn't order a spicy soup. When I've had Pho in the past it's usually not spicy unless I request it. The food was ok, nothing special here but my standards are high when it comes to Pho. I would recommend Com Tam Pho but beware of spicy noodles.

    PH01 pho dac biet, large

Pretty spacious restaurant in the neighbourhood. Great for a nice bowl of hot pho with the family. We tried their pho dac biet (special) and pho tai (rare beef). The broth was okay, as were the noodles and beef. The service was okay, a no frills type of service.

    House Special

Came back after the plaza they were in finished renovations and overall had a good experience. Ordered their house special which was delicious and the broth was very "clean". The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. However, when we arrived, the empty tables were not cleaned yet and we had to wait for the staff to clean them before being seated. This detracted from the overall dining experience and made us feel like the restaurant wasn't fully prepared for the lunch rush, it may also have just been a staffing issue. Despite the wait for a clean table, the service was friendly and attentive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The atmosphere was simple and unassuming, with a focus on the experience of being able to a hot bowl of pho on a cold day. While the wait for a clean table was a minor inconvenience, the delicious food and friendly service made up for it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great bowl of pho in the area.

This place has some solid viet food - everything was super fresh and prepared well! The chicken wings seemed like they were fried in rice or tapioca flour which gave it an extra crunch, and th sauce was amazing! The meat in the pho tasted so fresh and it being served raw meant you could control how well done you wanted it, great touch! Truly a hallmark of any good Vietnamese restaurant

Very friendly and courteous staff but the wonton soup was ok, nothing special. The dumplings were of lower quality than what I was expecting. I've had better tasting dumplings at Chinese restaurants. The egg noodles were pretty bad. Never ordering them again. I recommend PH01 House Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup. It seems to be the most popular dish on the menu.

Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Fill Factor: Satisfied I happened to be in the area after dropping by Gerrard Square so decided to give this place a try as I am a big fan of Vietnamese cuisine. My verdict would have to be that it is a fairly decent option for Vietnamese cuisine as the food was fairly good. Definitely not the best Vietnamese restaurant I have tried but also not the worst either. I ordered one of my favourite dishes the rice with steamed egg, bean curd, grilled pork, beef, and shredded pork skin. The first thing I noticed when my dish arrived was how thin the meat patties were. Most places I have ordered this dish from comes with a full pork chop with bone and all but they have taken the liberty of removing the bone (which is great) but also flattened the meat patties quite considerably. This happened with both the beef and pork patties so my guess would be it is a cost cutting move, otherwise the taste was fine. Some other minor complaints I had which may be just my preference are: the fish sauce (which I love) came in a very small bowl so I wish they gave more, and I did not like the smell coming from the veggie they used for the garnish. That may just be how the veggies smell naturally but I did not like it one bit and was worried it was coming from the meat which fortunately it did not. Aside from the minor issues the dish tasted pretty good as I the steamed egg and bean curd were done fairly well. The service was pretty good here as although the staff here were not super bubbly or anything were friendly and efficient. One of the tables beside me received the wrong order and the staff was apologetic and quickly corrected the order so kudos to that. The food arrived very quickly which was a bit surprising but a pleasant surprise nonetheless. All in all, I would say Com Tam Pho 168 is not a bad choice for Vietnamese cuisine. I would not mind trying some of their pho offerings next time I am in the area.

In a pinch and decided to try this. The pho was good but the vermicelli was very bland with not much flavour even after pouring in the fish sauce. $14 for the vermicelli $12.50 for pho A little bit more expensive than a few other places but within range. For the taste though, I'd go to Bach yen instead. Lots of seating. Parking in the plaza.

I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!
