Interesting take on their meats. My wife and I got chicken with vermicelli and spring rolls, and beef with vermicelli and spring rolls. Everything tasted pretty standard good except for the chicken and beef in both meals. For some reason, Pho Challenge did the chicken/beef almost like a BBQ style, which was on the sweeter side. I loved it, but I have a huge sweet tooth, so not sure if most will appreciate it that way. Portion sizes were huge for the prices, and service was efficient. I haven't tried the pho at this location, but they do make a mean grilled chicken over rice. The meat is cooked to perfection, tender and moist with a slightly sweet and smoky sauce. I've had this one dish many times and it has always been consistently good. The eggplant dish left a little to be desired, as did the spring rolls, because of lack of seasoning. Me and my girlfriend went out for Pho, overall the food was good until I found a bug inside my soup. I politely told the waitress and we went to pay and leave. I paid for my girlfriends soup+drink along with 50% of the cost of my Pho. I understand they're running a business but I had about 2 mouthfuls of noodles before I saw the bug and returned the food. Oh, pho challenge, why do you challenge me so? Where do I even start...? First off, any viet resto's that skimp you on quantity truly deserves to be called out like trump. First of all, the Lack of selection in meats for phos, no size options, AND below par service with the 'asian' standard (believe me, my expectation / the bar is quite low and I am Asian) I'm giving my generous 2x stars. Aside from these critical sub par standards regarding food, the taste is quite good but here is where they royally screwed up... 1. When asked for more lime, we were handed a bunch of lime wedges in a server's hand.. yes, he brought them in his hand and dropped them on our bean sprout plate... yes.. I said in his "hand". When's the last time asking for some extra things (that is food) and the server brought them in their bare hands.. not chopsticks, cups, hot sauce bottle but something like damn lime wedges. What if I asked for extra bean sprouts? He prolly would've brought them by hands too.. complete lack of common sense here. On top of this, His thumbnails were about half a centimetre long and extra yukkity yuk yuk there. Now, To top this... 2. He brings 2x veggie pho's with his 2 hands for the table next to us and as he is carrying these bowls, his thumbs are completely submerged in the soup of these bowls. I wondered do they not have trays?? Then I saw another female server using a tray.. (scratching my head*) After dropping the bowls off at the next table and as he is walking away while walking by our table, he gracefully sucks both of this thumbs and heads right into the kitchen... UNREAL! Sadly though, this was our 2nd attempt at this place. We (my wife and I) really wanted to give it a chance. First time when we came here, the child who seems to be one of the owner's kids just went on wailing. While this is going on, no staff in the resto seemed to care not even a bit for near 5-10 min. and we decided to just leave cuz I was just about half a centimetre away from having a seizure.. I normally apply 3 strike rule in my life but this miserable failure at our 2nd attempt at Pho Challenge has put the half a centimetre 'nail' in the coffin for us to never ever return here again NOR to the little coxwell. Oh yeah, we had whole another prob at the little coxwell but after seeing that they are related somehow made all the sense in the world to me tonight as I lay down on my couch writing this review. There are 2 of my favourite pho joints in the city.. Hung Long by Wilson and Keele and Bong Luna on Birchmount north of Sheppard. Yes go Dau Bo on finch west of Weston is also excellent and Pho day bo on Dundas just west of Dixie is another great choice. the food is amazing. I had been a customer for at least 1 year before this bad experience and I will not return now. I was sick so I ordered delivery from Pho Challenge this time. I live really close so I usually just pick it up. I didn't want to anewer the door in person, because I was very sick, but the delivery man would not stop slamming on my door and ringing the doorbell. I did not know why he could not leave it at the door as I yelled out that I was sick and didn't want to make him sick. he was yelling about a tip. I realized he wanted a tip and did not care if he would not be safe to get it. I already tipped on the app, so I didn't u set stand why he was so aggressive about a further tip. I gave him another too he bc it's all I had in my wallet. he told me never to order again and stormed off very angry. my understanding about a tip is that it is voluntary. I already tipped the delivery and paid extra for delivery (even tho I live around the corner). I thought it was extremely rude and unprofessional, especially to a customer who was dining there at least once per week. they have lost my business now for this reason and it makes me sad because their food is wonderful. read more

This restaurant offers a good selection of pho, deep fried shrimp roll and rice wrapper shrimp. They all taste really amazing. The decor is warm and inviting. The special pho here has a clean tasting broth without any sense of MSG. It maybe a little challenge to find parking, but it is definitely worth visiting. read more

I don't why this place is called Pho Challenge when they have such a small pho menu, they have very few pho meat selections (no tendon, no brisket, no tripe, no 'house' special like all other places), and there is only 1 size. I'm a little confused about the other reviews here, because my and my husband's experience here tonight was terrible. First for the positives. The place was very modern and nice looking, if a little too bright. Very clean. The waitress was nice; not great at her job, but smiling and friendly. And that's it for the positives. Walking in, we were greeted by the sound of a child making ear-piercing noises. He appeared to be the son of one of the family that owned the place, and his mother walked around holding a baby that intermittently cried throughout our meal. For the actual meal, the complimentary "salad" was a plate of raw bean sprouts and (I think) cilantro. It was very prettily presented, but after a couple of bites neither of us could see a reason to continue eating it. We then ordered the chicken pad thai, and beef ball rice noodle soup, which we intended to share. The pad thai was by far the more edible of the two, but tasted exactly like a frozen tv dinner. It was rather bland and unremarkable, it's main flavor just being a light sweetness. My husband rather enjoyed it once he'd added a ton of chili sauce from the table, but it certainly wasn't worth its 11ish dollar price tag. The beef ball soup was atrocious, however. Every single meatball, sliced in half, was a uniform grey colour with approximately 10 gristles protruding out from it. The texture was inedible. We each tried to eat one and immediately had to spit it out. The broth itself seemed primarily flavoured by cilantro. Otherwise, there was no hint of a "broth" taste to it. After a few bites, we put it to the side, along with the salad, where it was never bussed. Under normal circumstances, someone couldn't pay us nine dollars to eat this, let alone charging that much. Dessert (which we'd ordered alongside our main course) was a jackfruit milkshake. This was fine, but had very little flavour. It needed more sugar, perhaps, because it tasted mostly of milk and not much of fruit. Again, not worth the five dollar price tag. We know this is a family-run restaurant, and we feel very sorry to have to give it such a bad review. We really wanted the place to be good. But given the inexplicably good reviews listed here, we couldn't not mention how bad our experience was. Save your money. read more

This is a local pho that just opened. They mostly offer non pho dishes, the pho selection is quite small actually compared to the pho places moe downtown. The beef balls pho was good but the broth was very light and didn't have the flavor of the more established pho places around king and ossington. Great place! I got the pork vermicelli bowl and my boyfriend got the rare beef pho. My bowl was amazing, the pork was so tender and full of flavour. My boyfriends soup was great as well the broth was on point. Great environment very clean , okay service bot bad. Very clean, bright, recently renovated restaurant with gorgeous washrooms! Fast, friendly service. Found the 3 dishes we ordered were made with fresh, not frozen veggies! Being vegetarian we had the green curry with tofu and veggies which was outstanding!! What flavour. Next we tried their Pad Thai - famous noodle dish with tofu and then their Thai basil eggplant dish. Both were terrific, flavourful and fresh. It was also nice to get Chinese 'loose' tea rather than bags brought to the table when we arrived. Next time I would like to try a tofu appetizer and their curry or jasmine rice.
