Great service. Two young men working went out of their way to make sure my wife and I got the drinks we were looking for. My niece bought me a drink a couple of weeks ago and we came by to get another but wasn't sure of the name. The guys made what they thought was the drink based on our description but it turned to be the wrong drink they had no problem taking it back and giving us another drink and yep it was the right one. It's been a while since I've been back home. Actually, it's been so long that my Hawaii card has been officially revoked. So before I write this review based on my second, and most recent visit to CorT, I must provide the full disclaimer that I don't remember being mistreated this badly the first time around. Let me emphasize, I don't REMEMBER being mistreated but it doesn't mean I wasn't. Chances are, I was so traumatized the first time around that I totally blocked it from memory. Maybe that's their strategy...? Regardless, I'm rating CorT on a singular visit alone, which most yelpers do anyways. The pudding milk tea I got was fine. I was extremely thirsty, so I downed that shit in seconds. Didn't really give myself a chance to savor it, but at least it didn't make me wanna vomit. The customer service, however, left a nasty taste in my mouth. Like I've mentioned earlier, I can no longer be considered a local, so I didn't realize that CorT was the detention hall, or some sort of Barnes & Nobles where extroverts go to study in the comfort of a quiet but semi-populated area. Also, I didn't read any signs that indicated that it was a quiet area... And I even read the sign behind the register that was written in Chinese. Anyways, as my friend had mentioned. I'm not very confrontational. So, I'll simply take my business elsewhere. I'll also recommend to all my friends, including those who frequently travel to Hawaii from the Bay Area, to stop by and say "hello" and tell you how they won't be giving you their wonderful business. What was that quote about "I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples"? Believe me, I've cast many stones. And from reading some of the reviews about your establishment and noting the mediocre ratings, it seems you're creating a self-destructive tsunami of your own. Keep up the great work, I'm sure there will be many competitors fighting over your coveted store front once you guys are no longer able to sustain a profitable business there in the next few months. read more

Coffee or Tea is a great place to have a relaxing morning, a study date with a friend or by yourself, and a cool dessert! I love coming here with my friend to study and work on assignments. The drinks are delicious. Best milk teas, great shakes, and good fruit juices. Although the ice in the shave ice desserts are not fine, the delicious toppings efficiently add great flavor making the dessert taste sweet with an icey twist. I don't recommend coming here in big groups as the cafe is quite small with tables for two. read more

after living in portland, oregon for awhile, i've developed a very defined coffee palette. the ice americano at coffee or tea is OKAY. not the greatest. honestly, hawaii doesn't have enough indie-coffee houses like the northwest (no, not starbucks). shucks, i miss those stumptown coffee! the interior was seemingly nice. unfortunately, there were few tables and chairs. the drawback is their lack of customer-service. i DID NOT like the barista. then again, i'm not surprised...chinese people are just straight-up rude in general. i would never go back here. i'd rather head to a franchised-starbucks than go to coffee or tea. read more

currently crazy caffeinated from studying here today. trying to find new study spots since studying is my life now and was drawn here because i had a craving for boba and i saw they have free wifi. so far the only things i've tried here are the jasmine green tea and the jasmine green milk tea. both are super good. i loveee the boba here too. my only issue with the drinks is that they're SO expensive ($3-$4) compared to what i'm used to paying on the mainland. as a study spot, i don't think this place is ideal. it was pretty bustling all afternoon. if i didn't have my noise-cancelling earphones, i prob wouldn't have been very productive what with the music they played at a pretty high volume and the many conversations going on around me. the good thing was that most of the conversations were in cantonese/mandarin so it wasn't too hard to tune them out. it was also fun to try to eavesdrop.. i mean... brush up on my mandarin skills :D during study breaks. :) cons: it's in mccully shopping center (which means parking blows) and i didn't see too many outlets (so if you're looking to work on your comp for a long time, this prob isn't the place). also, i didn't utilize the free wifi very much today but i think the login page said something about getting "free wifi in 30 minute intervals"? does that mean it signs you off every 30 min? because that would be VERY irritating. all in all, this is a great place for getting your boba on / hanging out with friends but if you're looking for a quiet study spot, look elsewhere. i def wanna go back to try the shave ice though!! :D read more

THE best bubble tea on the island. But I haven't tried any of the flavored ones so I can only speak for the original milk tea flavor. I've also come here for desserts after dinner and they're pretty decent. The tapioca balls definitely make you full so if you're in a hurry and just need something on the run, you could probably just eat this to hold you over for a few hours. Enjoy! read more

It's a tea house, and a great one, but not a cheap one. I'm a boba tea lover, and I've had amazing boba, and horrible boba. Jasmine green tea is my favorite, although I usually skip over the tapioca for grass jelly or aloe these days (if they have them). Back in San Diego, I used to go 3-4x a week. I've had Boba in New York and Boba in Taiwan. Sure, I'm a 6'4" tall white guy, but I know my stuff when it comes to tea and boba. As far as boba tea in Hawaii goes, this has the best. The tapioca is the right consistency and the tea is perfectly brewed. I've been to about 6 different places here on Oahu, and this one is the only place that has gotten it right. Sure it's THE most expensive boba tea I've ever had, and yet I still go back. The places in Chinatown are revolting, either made with powdered pre-sweetened tea, or tapioca balls that melt or are chewy as gum. The korean bubble drinks are even worse (not surprised?). The decor is nice, but not a great place to lounge. Feels sort of like a library instead of a place to hang out and chat. It's not a food place, but they have some typical Taiwanese snacks like buttered toast and the likes. If you want good boba tea, you have to go here. If you want good cheap boba tea, fly to taiwan or the west coast. read more

To sum things up in a quick line: The drinks are great and the service isn't. I come here for a sweet craving usually after Curry House next door. The milk tea is delicious but I always somehow forget Cash Only. When I do I always get an unfriendly retort as if I was stupid to not know. There is a sign at the cash register but when focused on the menu its hard to pay attention to the tiny sign. Once forgetting to make my drink, the workers never apologized and made it seem it was my fault for not saying anything earlier. Their rude and unfriendly nature kills the fairly nice ambience the place offers. I recommend it for a drink with a friend but don't stick around to talk to the workers. read more

Ive had the thai ice tea and coffee ice tea and they were both below average, too sweet, and the thai tea did not taste like tea and the coffee milk tea had no coffee in it. Ill admit they make good teas and shave ice desserts but I went with like 8 of my friends and all but one of us ordered something and they wouldnt let us sit in the back. They made us get out... pretty ridiculous. But its not a big issue as they do have tons of warning signs about it. I just wasnt expecting to get kicked out for one person not ordering something. Excellent coffee. Hubs got the espresso con panna( espresso with cream) The espresso was dark and robust but surprisingly mellow for its strength. Certainly less bitter than a lot of the espresso I've sampled. Would come again if I lived in the area read more

This place used to be good. Until they jacked up the prices and watered down the drinks. The tea used to taste very creamy and rich and the cup was a decent size. But now for the price you pay for a regular size you can probably get the large size at lin's for cheaper. Not to mention this place is cash only. The parking lot is a hassle. Almost all the times I have been here I couldn't ever find parking. This place is located in mc cully shopping shopping center. Kinda tucked away behind an elevator. The shop is clean, the staff is nice, and it's a great place to study at and eat cheese cake. They have a variety of desserts and I must admit the raspberry cheese cake is divine. I love this place. If it were down the street from where I live I'd stop by here everyday! Reminds me of the standard coffee shops all over Taipei City. Always packed with Asians young and old to enjoy their teas. What's standard here of course is the Milk Tea with Pearls. They serve instant spicy noodles for $5 and it's alright. Back in Taipei they'd have Taiwanese beef noodle or wonton soup at these coffee/tea shops which were bomb not just to the palate, but also on the dollar. Outdoor seating isn't all that with one or two tables with 2-4 chairs whereas everyone else stands around or next to the elevator whilst smoking their cancer sticks. I wish the parking situation at McCully Shopping Center was manageable as it's quick to run in and grab a tea and go..but parking sucks so I can't always count on getting my milk tea before heading into Waikiki. Yes, they have great drinks. But their service is disgusting, well, just this one guy that was "helping me". My friends and I went there for some milk tea. I brought my 1.5 yr old daughter with me and asked for some straws so she could play with it while we chatted. The guy behind the counter gave me total attitude and said that my daughter couldn't play with the straws because it was dangerous and he didn't give them to me. Ok. So then I asked for a cup of ice, he asked if it was for my daughter. I said yes, then he said she can't have it because she's going to drop it all over the place. I told him I'll pick it up if she drops it and he gave it to me in a fit. Seriously?!?! This place has almost all elements of a bad food/drink establishment. Expensive, quality does not reflect price, and above all, absolutely horrible customer service. A couple of days ago I went to this place with two friends and a kid. The lady behind the counter was rude to begin with. We ordered three drinks. Immediately, the already irritated lady gave us a stare-down, and I mean a STARE-DOWN. We sat down to drink but the lady thinking we didn't understand Mandarin started talking smack about us to the other employee because we had a kid there and because we were Japanese (she thought we were Japanese because we were speaking in Japanese with one of our friends)... (1) It was just us and another couple in the store. The store was practically empty. Our kid was just sitting at the table, not running around, not crying, not yelling ... just sitting there with a DS; and (2) I see some comments here which include allegations of some employees having issues with a customer's race. After my experience, I have to admit there are some that ring very true. It's very sad. We immediately left giving a nice stare-down right back at her. We'll have to stick with Shirokiya for our tapioca drinks, especially for our non-Chinese guests in town. read more

Everytime I come here I get the Honeydew melon milk tea. I like it because it's not too sweet and doesn't taste like those overly sweetened pre-made tea drinks at other places. It looks like they use a flavored milk and add it to some black tea. Either way they mix it up it's good. Milk teas are wonderful, good quality pearls too. I tried one of the shave ice style desserts that had coffee jelly and tea jelly along with the pearls, loved it!
