I had a disappointing experience at Coffee Dose. Despite being a relatively new establishment, I was expecting better service. The sequence of events was problematic: my steak arrived first, followed by a burnt pancake, and then my salad arrived 50 minutes later. Notably, the restaurant was not busy at the time, as we had arrived an hour or two before closing. The significant delay in serving my salad was concerning. Furthermore, my steak was already cold and hard when I started eating it. Given the premium pricing, I expected a higher standard. A $15 pancake that is burnt is unacceptable, to say the least. read more

Coffee Dose - One-piece pancake $15 "burnt", Chopped Medi-cine salad $16 "good" & Steak & Eggs "dry and hard" $24 - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Encinitas, California

I was so excited to see a location open in the San Diego area! I've been to a few of their other locations, and this new Encinitas spot definitely didn't disappoint. I ordered the Valley Girl with espresso, and it was absolutely incredible! The cold foam actually tasted like marshmallow, which is rare--so many other coffee shops miss the mark on that. For food, I got the McMelty and split the pancakes. Both were good, but the pancakes absolutely blew me away! Even though it was a busy Sunday morning, the staff was incredibly friendly. The owner was even out on the floor making sure everything ran smoothly and helping the team. A great stop for a sweet treat! I'm so glad they're in the area! read more

Had the chi chi burrito and the banana bread with a side of eggs and 2 mochas. Excellent and flavorful burrito, great warmed banana bread, and delicious mochas (not too sweet). We will definitely be back. A little too noisy inside but I understand the vibe read more

0/10 , I orders my food and matcha at :3:20 , and matcha came out immediately the place was not crowded at all maybe about 2 other people I never received the disco cake and it's 3:50 so I just refunded and left the guy who took my order had no care or even asked why I was upset . Won't be coming back and the matcha was very mid and grainy read more

My girlfriend who is a well known local YouTube streamer wanted to stop by and give it a shot following our horrible experience last time. The cashier was being rude to us right off the bat when she seen we were live streaming. We ordered food and drinks. Drinks were served right away. Food was finished and the cook rang the bell. The server was too busy on her phone that she left my breakfast on the cook shelf for an extended time. I asked for the food to be recooked and the server refused to. I was hungry so I went ahead and ate the cold food with my fingers since she also didn't think of giving me silverware. ALL ON LIVE STREAM. This place won't last another 6 months if the owner keeps defending her workers lousiness In these reviews. Step your foot down and get shit done. We won't be returning, and neither will the 6.8K people that were watching live. read more

Great food! Ambiance is cheerful I love the interior of the place. Looks like a 50's and 60's Diner

Read the story about this place in Wednesday's San Diego Union and how it came to be and decided to take my wife for a surprise ride on her birthday and so glad I did. Great atmosphere, food, COFFEE, staff. So awesome. Definitely coming again. Thank you to all the staff and Oscar for his service. LOVED it. Corky and Sandi Weeks read more

BANANARAMA. Home run slammajamma! Favorite sweet treat around. Delicious espresso - but the banana cold foam steals the show. Environment is definitely for girlies... but I'm here for it. read more

I honestly don't know what the fuss is about this place. I figured I'd give it a try since they sent a coupon for a free latte with a diner purchase. My latte with oat milk was ok but not spectacular. Same for my Uncle Nicky chicken sandwich. It was good, but worth waiting behind 8 other people to order? (And that is a short line for them, at lunch on a Thursday. Can't imagine what weekend crowd is like.) What really made a bad impression was how LOUD it was inside. All hard surfaces and reverberating sound. Not what I'd consider coffeehouse at all. Fortunately I got a seat outside. But honestly I'd rather go to Champagne Bakery right across the courtyard. Their quiches, salads, and pastries are good and the outdoor seating is in the same place. Plus not so much wait. read more

I read a lot of the reviews, so tried not to go in with the highest expectations. Everything was wonderful! I went early(before 8am) so it wasn't crowded at all. The staff were all very nice and helpful! I started with the Goldie and it was perfect-strong, not too sweet and flavorful. Next, I ordered the latkes. A photo online made them seem quite small, but I felt it was a generous portion. They were crispy and light and the toppings were tasty! Next I had a side of bacon, which was meh. It was clearly good quality bacon, nice and thick but the cook on it was rather chewy. Lastly, a disco cake which I had seen described as cake like or cornbread-like. I love a good traditional buttermilk pancake and this one was light and fluffy. My only critique would be to serve the syrup on the side. While it was delicious and aesthetically presented, it was just too much syrup for my liking. The miso butter was good/interesting/different, but I would be fine with plain old whipped butter. That being said, I was quite pleased overall and would return/recommend. I took all my leftovers home because I couldn't finish everything. The place itself is super cute and the gift shop has some really cute items-coffee, mugs, key chains, artisan chocolate bars... read more

The coffee is great!! But the food is subpar and they do not yet have their liquor license. The liquor license isn't an issue but it is always a long line to get in so I think it would be helpful if they made that information available to guests before they get up to order. The main reason for the low star review is because of the amount of influencers. You are in every video and photos people are taking. And everyoneeeeee is either doing a video review (the girls next to us) or they have their go-pro and they are filming the entire line to order to eating to leaving. It's not really an issue but personally I went without makeup that day and I didn't realize I needed to be camera ready My chicken sandwich was also basically a coleslaw sandwich and the tiny amount of chicken that was on it, was burnt and stringy. But I'd definitely be willing to try another item. It just seems like $21 for 2 pancakes is a bit much... read more

The vibes in here are cool, the interior has a pretty neat design concept. I honestly loved the food we got. My coffee was mid but husbands coffee was great. So it's a mixed bag but would definitely be back to try more things! The menu is pretty big so lots to come try! read more

I was so excited to see Coffee Dose open in Encinitas! I literally go to OC once a month for their specialty matcha and vanilla lattes & soooo stoked they opened a diner where I live. Their latke appetizer is next level & "girl dinner" menu items (chicken caesar salad & fries) has me wanting to try everything on the menu. I also saw the owner bussing tables herself and it goes to show how much care goes into every detail of their business. 10/10 recommend. Cutest aesthetic & ambiance. read more

I was glad to see a new coffee place on this side of town. I realized pretty quickly I'm not their target audience, but even with that in mind I was still massively disappointed. I ordered a melt. It was somehow both dry and greasy. It tasted like a Sysco patty but cost much more than it should have. The coffee was fine, but not good. Definitely overpriced. More than anything, the interior felt tacky and thin. Like a money grabbing veneer for the terminally online. Overall the vibe was just off. It didn't feel like a place that cares about anything other than a quick picture and a high bill. I hope people stick with Champagne Bakery in the same shopping center. It's less shiny but much better. read more

we are people of color(Mexican) we came to this place with my family, my mom and mother in law sat down while me and my sister in law waited in line(line was out the door) while my mom and mother in law were sitting a blonde lady in normal clothes came up to just my mon and mother in law asking if they had ordered already and mentioned to them they couldn't sit down if they don't have a number mind you there was more people sitting down without a number, my mother in law that spoke English and Spanish got upset because she didn't tell anyone else, she mentioned to us that happened, me and my sister in law went inside very upset and spoke to a worker and asked if it's okay to save seats they said yes it's okay to save seats so we asked if that was the boss and they said yes it was!, that let us know we were being racially profiled so disappointed and discussed! We support our people! DO NOT COME IF YOU ARW PEOPLE OF COLOR THEY WILL NOT WELCOME YOU!! read more

Coffee Dose - here's her texting us the moment it happened! I got yelp just to write a review, I'm still upset about it! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Encinitas, California

Took the Fi Fi to brunch on a Saturday at 11 am. Long line was not worth the wait or price. 5 stars to the vibe they put off, felt like Disneyland ride eatery. Also 5 stars to the service since they took back my over saturated pancake & brought me another with the syrup and sugar sauce on the side. With that said, this place is straight diabetes in the future if you come here more than once. We both feel sick driving home right now to brush our teeth. Also, don't ask for a 15,20 or 25% tip when we wait in line to order + have to find our own seat after. read more

THE EGGS OMG THEY ARE PERFECT SO SO GOOD!! Must try their scrambled eggs and disco cakes (pancakes)!!!!

Tried to come in around the opening and it was packed. So left and came back last Sunday. My husband and I sat at the counter and had a great server who we chatted with (turns out we are both from OC). Had great coffee and food. Did not disappoint (and my hubby is a mocha/coffee snob - he loved it). Food was different and really good. Especially the Latkes. Divine! Yum. Yum! read more

A little too edgy - Their attempts to normalize the word "bitch" did not work for me- and no non fat milk for coffee drinks - Really? . I suspect people who like this place are the ones who can't afford it - French Bakery is not in danger of losing any business. read more

Didn't end up staying but giving it 4 stars due to its appearance. It looked like I had walked into a Barbie themed cafe with all the pink and green colors. I originally wanted to wait to write a review so that i could also honestly review the food as well, however today i stopped in at around 12pm (its a saturday), and it was jammed packed and i was really bummed. however after a few hours at the beach i decided to swing by to see if they were still open. I arrived at 4:47 and the workers were so so accommodating! usually at establishments you can tell that they are irritated when you come in so close to closing, however these workers (specifically Emily and Caroline) were such dolls. when i tell you i felt like i was catching up with a friend i mean it! they were so so kind and sweet. Overall, the vibes were amazing, interior is BEAUTIFUL, and the workers all have the most pleasant smiles and personalities!! will 100% be making a trip back up to visit (at a hopefully less busy time)!! read more

The place was so cute and very Pinterest worthy but as much as the place was pleasing the food did not meet that expectation. I got a McMelty and guys....you are better off getting a 7 dollar sausage and cheese sandwich from Starbucks than buying this sandwich that was 12 dollars that had no flavor! For starters, the egg had the consistency of biting on foam, It felt fake. The bun felt more greasy yet really dry. The service wasn't that bad? I understand it was busy but compared to other customers, it felt like the customer service ratio definitely showed which audience was targeted. If you come here, the only thing worth it was the Valley girl late/ matcha. read more

Very aesthetically pleasing, cute restaurant/coffee spot. Nice to get a coffee and catch up with a friend. Not sure if we just went on a bad day, but the food was honestly gross. Been an avid Dose fan for years making the trek from Pasadena (side note/ please make a location out here!!) to the OC to have a quick bite out of the box or a girls day lunch with my daughter in Costa Mesa. When I found they had an Encinitas location we did not hesitate to swing by. And it didn't disappoint. A slightly expanded menu my hubby loved the burger, my daughter her latte, and me the crisp and fresh salad. My toddler swallowed the pancake almost whole. Love the branding and verbiage. Adorable color scheme and theme. Good service with kind staff. Highly recommend!! And honestly baffled by some of the negative comments on here.
