Food 5 stars best pancakes around Service 3 stars only one waitress on a busy day Atmosphere 3 stars small family business not trying to wow people on looks but wow them on the food Must visit small Cafe in Penndel PA. Our first time there and we were glad we stopped in. We walked in with another couple at 10:30 am on Memorial day and were greeted with, "we close at 11 and we don't want you sitting here talking for 2 hrs" . I was thinking wow that was a little harsh. After ordering the special of 2 Pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 slices of toast, sausage and home fries. We were surprised to see how much food came out, nice portion of home fries and 3 big sausage links. The Pancakes were delicious some of the best I have had, eggs were cooked exactly like we ordered the home fries are sliced thin and cut in half and were Crispy. I'm sure we could have gotten onion when the fries but we didn't ask. After talking to the owner being we were the last ones in the place, she was also the cook who yelled when we came in the door. This place has been in the family for 33 years she is the daughter of the original owner. She was super nice and was talking about how she doesn't really like cooking and would rather be out with the people harassing customers at a fun level. Now we can see why this place was packed and with repeat customers because she likes to have fun and serve good home cooked meals. Never judge a book by its cover, until you finish your experience than you will have a better understanding. We will be back

    Hello western omelette, super delicious!
    Marlyn V.

One morning we headed out for breakfast at a small shop next door to a thrift shop and you can instantly tell that this will pan out to be a very cute Sunday. The Cafe is set up in a very odd shaped building, starting off with a bar and a few tables that open up into the cup room that seems like an evil step sister trying to fit in. The place is definitely has plastic blue table cloths that are actually a bit off putting, but don't let that stop you from coming in. There was only one server who was vibrant with energy and great tattooes, she came over to fill our mugs with boiling coffee as we scanned the menu. The menu is not filled with glitz or glamour, you won't find a pumpkin pancake or cajun potatoes, but that's not what it's about here. The place is about good and simple. You could tell by the crowd of people that they were all regulars and comfortable in the setting, reading the paper, talking to the cook and more importantly enjoying their breakfast. The hubby and I decided to split a Western Omelette and a short stack of pancakes. The pancakes wer thick and a great size, but sadly left not much to be remembered. Which is the COMPLETE opposite of the omelette which was delicious from the first bite of oozing cheese. It came thick and stacked with ham, peppers and onions. The home fries were nicely toasted, semi seasoned and a perfect side for my eggs. Overall for the big sized portions and budget friendly prices, this is a nice alternative to other breakfast joints. For me, I'm a bit greedy and love good ambiance AND good food, so it left a lot to be loved on the location, so more like a 3.5.

So thanks to Yelp and the great reviews. I decided to try hear for breakfast. And glad I did. The prices are perfect and food is so good. Definitely have to try the sausage egg and cheese on a kaiser roll. One of the best. A nice little cute play to have some breakfast.

Small outdated diner in the Langhorne Area. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The inside is larger than it looks on the outside with 3 separate eating areas. The decor is very outdated and looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. There are mugs...everywhere!!! Someone is clearly a collector. The food itself is very good. My party of two ordered the Western Omelet and two egg platter. The Omelet was loaded with large chunks of onions, ham and green peppers. Both platters include toast and home fries for less than $7. If you look past the outdated decor I would recommend this place.

Quirky but cute. Attentive wait staff and generous portions. Decor is nice if you are a coffee lover like I am!

All reviews are in the end subjective. Sometimes all the variables are evaluated, but in other instances one aspect so dominates that the other pieces are minimized by comparison. For me, when the atmosphere of a restaurant so overcomes me with a sense of comfort and well being that the food or service tends to fade quickly, I react emotionally and start to fall in love with the entire experience. I can't help it. I'm a hopeless romantic. So it was with Coffee Cup Café on Bellevue Avenue, just off one of the ugly parts of business Route 1. I had seen the place for years, but was never tempted to stop and frisk the joint until reading the Yelp reviews. It seemed like a decent place for breakfast, so I set aside a morning when not too busy to stop in. Stepping inside after parking on the street in front, I immediately felt the effect of time warping taking me to circa 1980. An old counter with about 6 or 7 spinners, and large kitchen service window in the wall behind, and more classic coffee mugs hanging on the walls than I could count. There was a nice size dining room to the side, and another tiny one right in front of the building. Everything white with blue trim. Then Beth approached from behind the counter and asked if I wanted coffee. "Yes, Mam," as I took in her vivacious eyes and well-tatted skin. Well, all right! This woman had a story to tell, and I hoped she would share it. After mentioning this was my first visit, she gave me the history of Coffee Cup Café back through the early 1970's. She was second generation ownership, and her son, Jesse, working the kitchen grill would be the third. She was proud and loud, and she was a groove. She welcomed me to look around, and even step into the galley for a photo. The food? It was just fine. Coffee hot and fresh. Breakfast sandwich loaded on a Kaiser roll and able to fill my happy stomach. I could have hung out there all morning. I felt like a friend and guest of the house. Some places are just that way. How many coffee mugs are found in Coffee Cup Café? I'll never tell.

This place is amazing! Upon walking in we were greeted by a waitress who let us know to sit anywhere. At first, the place seems a little crammed but after sitting down in the "sports" room I noticed another room where there was much more seating. As the waitress came around to take our order she made us feel right at home. The items we ordered came out with in a short period of time, just enough to were I finished my first cup of coffee and was ready for a refill. It's been a while since I've had scrapple but the reviews I read said they have the best, and it really is! The place appears to get busy from the locals and is very affordable. As previously mentioned this is cash only! I mentioned to the waitress that I found the location on Yelp. She was thrilled that I said that and even gave me 10% off our bill. We will certainly be back again being that we live here in Langhorne. Thanks yelp!

The inside is on the darker side with brick floors and just a few windows at the front letting in some natural light. They have framed pictures hanging on the walls just about everywhere. The counter with stools was a bit tight, but a great spot to sit down and grab a bite. On my latest visit, I sat at a tiny table for two which was fine for flying solo. The booths and tables look much roomier. Food wise I stuck to simple two egg breakfasts. Sunny side up and scrambled with potatoes and I tried the hot sausage which was ground with hot pepper flakes and oil. It was a big portion with the sausage and came to about $14 and change. The eggs, toast and potatoes with no meat was a couple dollars less. Breakfasts included coffee which was a simple diner roast. The staff was friendly and kept stopping over to check on me and keep my coffee topped off. I was disappointed to see they only had two of their flagship beers for takeout (Hey Yo NE IPA and Independence Lager) and no crowler canning machine for their tap list. They will fill your personal growler and the prices for their 16oz four packs were fair. $10 for their lager and $14 for their Hey Yo NE IPA. There are a lot of other breweries charging much higher prices and/or you're paying a flat amount for beers no matter what the style (which is ridiculous) .... I can understand a higher retail if it's a limited release or higher end brew. I made it a point to return and sit down inside the brewery to take it all in. My life plans landed me there on a Sunday, unfortunately Sal's next door is closed on Sundays, so a food truck parked outside or Durham Deli across the street had to do. The layout on the inside is inviting: picnic tables or bar seating are your options. They have board games to test your mind or keep your kids occupied and there were several TV's playing NFL games. The bartender was nice and a good conversation. He was very into their beers and gave great insight into: when they were tapped, what was coming down the pike and info/ingredients of current tapped brews. I didn't see much in the way of a menu with descriptions of each beer, but then again I didn't ask. I just looked at the tap list on their menu boards which noted the tap number (16 total), name of the beer, style, abv, price and the ounces of the pour. In my opinion the variety of beer styles they had would give any beer drinker several options to try. I sampled a few different styles: Belgian IPA 7%, Winter Warmer 9.4% and their American Pilsner 5.8%. I found them to be average to slightly above average and served in proper glassware. You can get flights, a single 5oz pour or in a glass that ranged from 10-20 ounce pours. The prices were between $5-$7 for a 10-20 oz. pour. The to-go cooler had four of their brews this time and also a second cooler had local Jericho Mountain Beef. You can buy several different styles of vacuum sealed meats that looked delicious. They also serve wine, seltzers and non-alcoholic beverages. The bathrooms were pretty big and clean. They welcomed a pretty big family with several kids so I'd say your safe to bring the fam!! I'm a fan of Broad Street Brewing, I think their prices are more than fair, the staff was nice, their beers are average to above average and true to the style (from what I've tried) and the building itself was clean, open and inviting. I enjoyed my experience there and will return (preferably during Sal's business hours!). Thanks guys!

Their drink menu consists of hot/cold coffee, tea, lattes, and espresso based drinks. I tried the drip coffee and would highly recommend it. It is a private label version of Homesteads Darkness - dark & bold with notes of rich, smokey chocolate. I enjoyed the dark roast, rich chocolate and its bold full body. The cortado and espresso I had were ok. I found them to be a little too bitter, but there was a strong roasted earthiness flavor that I liked. On a return trip I'll have to try their Vietnamese coffee. Food wise I've had the sausage egg and cheese on a bagel and a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. They are simple and decent sized with simple folded egg patties and cheddar cheese on average bagels. The sausage had a little spicy kick and the bacon was pretty tasty (NOTE: they do offer pork roll as an option). I was given some hot sauce packets to go. You can also get sandwiches on a croissant. The rest of the menu is simple - toasts, sandwiches, salads, some items for the kids. They do sell their private label coffee beans in retail bags and will grind them for you. I'll stop in again if I'm in the area. The coffee and ambiance is great, the food is ok to good, service great and the idea of a non profit that supports community is commendable. Thanks!!

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - This was the biggest disappointment. The chicken breast was extremely thick and had a grainy texture that made me wonder if it was chicken breast with rib meat. If that's the case, it gives the impression that quality isn't a priority. The breading also fell off with almost every bite, and the sandwich wasn't well proportioned (one oversized tomato slice that wasn't cut evenly). Most importantly, it didn't taste like Nashville hot at all -- more like "Nashville not." Shrimp Po' Boy - Below average. The shrimp had a slightly fishy taste, and the bread didn't resemble proper po' boy bread. The greens were a spring mix, which felt like an odd choice. Traditional shredded lettuce would have worked much better. I've had po' boys in Louisiana, and while I wasn't expecting complete authenticity, I was expecting something closer to the spirit of the dish. This version missed the mark. Smash Burger - Probably the best of the three mains we ordered, but still just average. I've honestly had better smash burgers at chains like Shake Shack. Sides: The fries were great. We ordered the beer cheese sauce, which was fine but not necessary. The onion rings were the standout -- perfectly crispy with a clean bite. The homemade ranch served with them was excellent. Overall, I really wanted to like this place more, but the food didn't deliver enough for me to return.

Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. It was THAT good. It was easy to make my way to Dog & Bull from Center City thanks to the Septa station located directly behind the restaurant. Street parking also wasn't too bad yesterday.
