Stony Hill Kitchen is an immaculate breakfast lunch space in the Makefield Crossing Executive Center off Township Line Road, Lower Makefield, PA. Although the three buildings appear to have low occupancy these days, the cafeteria-like first floor space appears to be doing all right. Ordering is by digital screens and credit/debit card. Food prep is behind the counter or from a large salad bar set up in the middle of the floor. Seems pretty efficient. I was aware of its existence from Yelp, as well as its previous incarnations. After visiting PennMed across the road, I decided to go over and see what was going on. First impressions were positive, so I ordered a Farmers Omelet (veggies, cheddar) home fries, sourdough toast and La Colombe Java. It came to around none bucks, picked up at the service counter and eaten at one of their free tables. This was a 2 egger with adequate sauteed onions, mushrooms, roasted red pepper and melted cheese. One slice of buttered toast accompanied the main dish. The potatoes were undercooked, but not so hard as to challenge my molars. The coffee was the strongest entrant to the breakfast sweepstakes, as La Colombe usually is. On a cooler day I would have been tempted to sit under the outdoor pergola to enjoy a more leisurely morning, but given the pre-thunderstorm forecast, I opted to remain inside in the sanitary surroundings. Too, given a choice I prefer less single use plastics than provided here. No deduction, but a word to the wise and ecologically sound.

Chicken that was tougher to chew than jerky. Very poor experience; frankly terribly disappointed.

Not only was it a delightful experience for my tastebuds, it covered the entire plate. This was one of the few times I couldn't finish my meal. It probably didn't help that I had an order of their amazing bread and butter. I love the vibe at this spot. They serve top notched meals in a casual environment. I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. We get them every time we visit.

Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!

From the look of things, it has fallen into the strongest ownership and has a great chance of achieving longevity in this old river town neighborhood. If jazz is your sound, Rosetta's will fill that niche in your soul. From the moment I walked in and took a stool at the counter, the smooth jazz soundtrack kept me company. The presence of a full drum kit, electric keyboard and microphone stands in the front of the house by the entry door had me wondering if I would be lucky enough to audience a morning session. It wasn't to be, but it sure did set the mood for evening possibilities. My breakfast was simple. Sausage, fried egg and provolone cheese on rye sandwich, with side of home fries (onions & peppers added). The chef's skilled hands were visible from my seat, as was his laughing interaction with customers who called him out to acknowledge his presence. That was fun. The meal was good, but would have been exceptional had the sandwich been doubled up (2 of everything) and presented on an English muffin of Kaiser rather than sliced rye. The limited choice of white, wheat or rye for this creation missed the mark. Those taters on the other hand, were excellent and the java strong, fresh and tasty. PRO TIP - Add this big boy to the morning menu as a choice for those who appreciate what double meat, egg and cheese can do for the satisfaction of the hungry. Otherwise, it was all worthwhile. That Sunday brunch with mimosa and AYCE spread accompanied by live jazz is totally appealing, and we may drop in soon.
