9th Street refers to an Italian neighborhood in South Philadelphia where the famous and delicious Italian Market thrives on the cobblestones of this part of town just off Washington Avenue. That world is full of green grocers, butchers, fish mongers, bakers and cheese shops of greater and lesser renowned. All that culture is jammed into a small shorefront in downtown Yardley, PA. Sure, a few corners had to be cut, but the essential verve of that hood was carried forward into 9th Street on Main. I ordered a breakfast sandwich of sausage, egg and cheese on a "steak roll," and shot the shit about the Phillies for a few with the owner/chef. (Maybe the Mets were stealing signs.) I took my meal to the office and dined in. It was a good sammy, but perhaps not the best of breed hoped for. It needed to be a double load to ring that bell. Still, with my hot coffee, it was filling and charged me up for the next several hours. Still, service was with a smile, the menu suggested the possibility of many more tasty treats that might just soothe the savage beast. I will be back soon to check out that eggplant parmigiana. Four Stars with a chance of meatballs.

I'm in Yardley once a week and I'm always impressed by the food. Just on Main Street there's a fantastic pizzeria and a really fun lobster roll place. I haven't even tried the sushi place or the burrito place. 9th Street on Main is a very welcome addition. If you go here, you must get the roast pork. Served with perfect broccoli rabe that's fresh, full of flavor, abd not too bitter, roasted long hots, sharp provolone, and a side of roasting liquid for dipping, it's the best roast pork I've ever had. It's certainly better than DiNic's, which is also very good. It's a 10/10. The Italian hoagie that I got was also very good, but probably not in my top 5. The meat was sliced a little bit thick for my liking. (Although to be fair I always order Italians without the classic lettuce, tomato, and onion, so your mileage may vary.) A cheesesteak was just ok. More than adequate, but a little on the dry side. The people who work there are extremely nice. Food is always ready quickly and there's (no frills) seating available. If you go, get the pork. You won't regret it!

So happy that I have rediscovered Canal Street a few times since our first visit. This Greek…read morerestaurant has consistently delivered on taste and cozy ambience, whether a family dinner or a date lunch. Apps this time included cold dips and my favorite version of grape leaves. Meat dishes - especially lamp chops and blackened salmon were big winners. Carb cakes also crispy to perfection. Lemon potatoes were the all around favorite. Baklava was a treasured dessert and converted even my picky younger daughter over to Baklava (chocolate mousse also rich and delish). So glad we have had many great meals here and that Canal Street was such a nice place to have a weekend dinner with friends.

I mean how many times have you asked for a medium burger only to get it well done? Compliments to the chef on that alone but also on the Moussaka. Both the vegetable and classic Moussaka are standouts. Sooo delicious. Our server was excellent. Friendly, timly and wanted to please. It added to a perfect dinner. Reservations were honored. The restaurant wasn't full on Sunday night, but you never know...still better to have a reservation. And who dosen't love a byob!! Not sure why we haven't been here in a while but we will put it back on our top 5 local place to go. It checks every box.

We were seated in the dining room to the left. I believe there was another one on the right, when you come in. Our waiter was wonderful! Very friendly and funny! The food was great! We started off with the arancini for the table. I had the mushroom, spinach and goat cheese frittata. It was so good! We all ordered from the brunch menu. We will absolutely be back!

Looks like I'm in the minority on ratings for this restaurant…read more The place itself is in a former home and we ate in what may have been the living room and dining room. The space is very minimalist with nothing but 2 photos (?) on the walls. As the night progressed the noise level increased but not overwhelming so. I was concerned about the size of the menu with there being around 28 various entrees. In the past I've learned that less is usually best making it easier for the kitchen to perfect their dishes. This total did not include the 2(?) Special entrees. I chose the special Risotto Carbonara with guanciale, cream, mushrooms and cheese and was disappointed. The risotto was overcooked with the usual risotto "bite" missing. There was little seasoning in the dish and not much in the way of quantity of guanciale. In comparison, the Osso Bucco was very good with a rich gravy and side of mashed potatoes. I'm not sure if I'd return. BYO.

Not only was it a delightful experience for my tastebuds, it covered the entire plate. This was one of the few times I couldn't finish my meal. It probably didn't help that I had an order of their amazing bread and butter. I love the vibe at this spot. They serve top notched meals in a casual environment. I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. We get them every time we visit.

Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!

It was fantastic and a nice portion. We also split a Rueben that was up there with one of the best we've had anywhere. It came with fries but we opted to upgrade to the Contav fries (old Bay and cheese dipping sauce) which were great. Overall, the decor and atmosphere was cozy, the food terrific, and the staff attentive. I can't wait to go back.
