Lovebird is fantastic! It's a tiny place with seating for around 12 but I think takeout is a big portion of their business. The joint is bright and happy just like the young lady behind the counter. My food came out fast and while waiting the aroma was pleasant. They have a small but mighty menu. I did the house made onion rings. They use a cracker meal coating so unlike the crunchy chicken coating. I didn't hate it but it's not my fave. I will absolutely be coming back here and telling my coworkers. read more

Ok so I am in love with Love Bird. My friend took me for my birthday because I have gluten issues and have been gluten free since March 1st, So almost everything on the menu is gluten free! I as able to eat about a third of my food before I was full. The er popcorn chicken is so good. I had the love bird and honey mustard sauce. Perfectly crisp, not oily. I'm a huge fan I honestly think I'll be a weekly customer. The place has a dine in area but they do an insane amount of Uber eats/door dash. Personally I do t use those services often because I'd rather other directly with the restaurant to help them make their full profit instead of paying delivery services 30%. Back to the food! The fried pickles were so good. Next time info I want to ask if they are air frying because nothing is oily! I love it. The Mac and cheese was so good and I enjoyed the gf bread crumb topping, I still haven't finished it because it's filling but so good and safe for me to eat I really appreciate businesses that provide sage gluten free options. I heard this owner also owns Jules thin crust pizza. They have gf options there too. Next time I crave pizza Im trying there. Love the name. Love the notion of sourcing exclusively from a Pennsylvania Amish farm. Love the antibiotic/filler free birds resting easily in my belly. But, the actual experience of eating their Baja Chicken Sandwich, and the takeout confusion, not so much. Lovebird just opened earlier this week, and making all the necessary adjustments as Bucks turns Yellow from Red (Covid-19 speaking), earns them some slack from this sensory deprived quarantine, but some things are still hard to ignore. I didn't mind that there was a communications gap between online ordering, paying, and the chaotic scene upon arrival at the small shop for pick-up. It was a bit tense as some customers came in to wait with their shirts pulled over their mouth and nose because they lacked required masks and recommended gloves and the business had none to offer. It was even okay to wait 30 minutes for my order to be ready, and watch a dozen teenagers scrambling to package the orders into brown bags and seem lost about how to construct a strong meal sack that wouldn't descend into a leaky mess at the bottom of the bag by the time it reached its destination. That was annoying as the sandwich containers were removed with oil stains and partially deconstructed ingredients. Worst offender was the brussel sprouts side dish that tasted great in a black roast way, but whose oil cooking medium could not be contained and ran over everything in the bag. A class in solid trigonometry would have helped the unschooled packers. Not sure what I expected from a $9 chicken sandwich, but I may have believed that it would compare well with the Chick-fil-A, Popeyes, Wendy's of the world which sold for a coupla bucks less. Aside from the warm fuzzies from knowing the chicken's impressive pedigree, the Bite & Chew left alot to be desired. Plump, yes. Crisp, no. Spicy, no. Hang together to the end, sort of. This to me means the chicken was cooked fresh and my door dash driver was not too much of a pot head. Breading was light but carried flavor. I was hesitant to agree to eat here until I learned of vegetarian options! So many times I often cannot eat at predominantly chicken restaurants due to lack of options. I first realized there was some salads which looked great but then noticed that for chicken sandwiches, you can sub in miso tofu instead of chicken. I opted to get the LBLT sandwich with no tomato or bacon and add in the tofu option. We were given grilled or crispy as the tofu options which was nice to have a choice. I chose crispy of course! The bun with the Mayo, avocado and butter lettuce were amazing compliments. I did find the the inside of the tofu to be a bit more moist than I prefer but the outside has a slight crisp to it! They do not wait tables, and there were about 4 or 5 of them where we could sit and wait or eat, which we decided to eat in. We got a big bucket of popcorn chicken, enough to feed four people, and that came with three sauces of your choice, and they were plentiful. The chicken was delicious. We also tried their Macaroni & Cheese and the fried Brussels Sprouts. It's late in the day, and I thought the Brussels were tasty but dry. The Mac & Cheese was incredible; if you are a cheese lover, it's a must-try! The staff was amiable and helpful. We enjoyed our meal and had plenty left over. Their prices were fair, and between the two of us, we spent $55. It's a small place, spotless, the restroom was clean, and it's not wheelchair accessible from the back. I do recommend the Lovebird! An order of popcorn chicken + some fries keeps me full for 8+ hours! I haven't historically loved their salads. The fried chicken is great but hurts my stomach a little bit. The 4-piece meal came with 2 sauces of our choice and it was delightful. I wanted to like this a lot more. I love a good piece of fried chicken or a fried chicken sandwich. But most of the food disappointed me except the fried chicken sandwich. Ordered food to go from Door Dash, everything was in my order and it didn't take long. Fries: fries will rarely go uneaten in our house. These did. They have a weird texture and they didn't taste fresh made to order. They tasted like they were sitting there for a while. I don't attribute this to the Door Dash delivery because my order was received within 30-40 mins upon ordering. Mac n Cheese: this was the worst offender. They don't use elbow noodles, fine then use something a little more elevated like cavatappi. Nope they used penne. It wasn't creamy and it was bland. No one in my house liked it. Coleslaw: it was just okay ingredients were fresh though I just think all of the ingredients needed a little more time to merry with one another. Fried Chicken: disappointed. The pros chicken was moist. Cons I never thought I would say this but it was almost too moist. Skin was a little crispy but I would have preferred a crispier skin. Seasoning on chicken was blah and it had a weird after taste. If you want good friend chicken and are in bucks go to Maxwells on Main (MOMs) in Doylestown. I'm a fried chicken snob and they are the best around. Yardbird in Las Vegas still my overall fav fried chicken while MOMs is a close second. Chicken sandwiches: now these were great. Got the love bird, Baja and the one with avocado and bacon. My family and I each enjoyed our own sandwiches. Bread was great. Sauces on them were great. I'd go back for one if I was near there. The curbside pickup line has been around the corner since this place opened, and after we got takeout tonight, there is no wonder why. We had the Loverbird Chicken Sandwich, french fries and mac-and-cheese. The sandwiches were crispy, juicy and full of flavor. I love that the chicken is locally sourced, and the la bus rolls speak for themselves. The sauce, coleslaw and pickle combo made for one of the tastiest chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The fries could have been crispier, but the flavor was spot on. As to the mac-and-cheese it is a can't miss, perfect texture and just the right amount of cheese. Large roll, a tiny piece of chicken, literally two pieces of celery, minimal amount of blue cheese and almost no spicy sauce. Essentially a big roll. Price $9.50. Their website CLEARLY did NOT say curbside pick up. She looked frustrated, got my name and brought my order out 5 minutes later.
