A recent addition to one of the out buildings in the Summit Square Shopping Center, Langhorne, PA, Qdoba is a nationally franchised fast Mexican style restaurant that competes with the Chipotles of the world. Its menu is more limited than the 800 lb. gorilla that is the McDonald's spinoff, but the portions are more to human scale than the perpetually oversized Chip., and perhaps just a tad more Mexicentric. I used their app to order ahead, and the Steak Quesadilla and Cholula Spiced & Honey Chicken were packaged and ready when I arrived for pickup at the appointed time. The smallish shop was clean and set up for semi fast takeout, with a few sit downs within and a 4 table patio on the outs. While the food was good, it could have been better. There was plenty of steak and accessories in the quesadilla, but the combination of two salsas was salty, rather than chili hot. The Cholula/Honey Chicken Bowl was fresh and filling, but I could not taste any honey sweetness and it took some digging to find the chicken. The guac was decent, but the sour cream was separated and unusable. Someone needs to watch the recipes and their execution to be sure the written and photo descriptions match what goes into the bag. Otherwise, this place has promise.

So much better than chipotle on eagle rd! Friendly staff. Clean. Fast. Efficient. Chicken bowl and no charge for guac and heaps of food. Franchise owned. Love to support a local small business owner. Pre made bowls also look interesting. Look forward to getting those next time !

Five Guys is absolutely the best place to get burgers bar none. I am on a low carb diet, and they…read morehave no issues putting the burgers in a bowl as opposed to buns if you like it that way. Also, they have a great selection of toppings that are fresh. In full disclosure my son is a shift leader here, and he tells me that the food is so fresh, they do not even have a freezer in the store. The burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection (although I like rare burgers, but places cannot really make them that way due to food safety laws). Their service is fantastic and everyone is very friendly. Since everything is made fresh, you do have to wait a little while longer to get your food. The bottom line is when I want a burger and am out and about, Five Guys is my go to choice.

Five Guys opened last week where SaladWorks used to be. Brand spanking new in its logo red and white, with sacks of peanuts stacked in the middle of the floor, the excellent, but messy standard two patty sandwich with all free accessories, come in at $9.35+ on sesame seed bun. The spill over fries are outrageous, with the smallest cup capable of feeding three people. Shakes are also customizable, but although delectable, are just too sweet for a healthy drink. Their app works well, so ordering from home or on the road is easy. It is well laid out and allows you to set the time you want to pick up the order in 15 minute increments. I was able to order two separate bags to allow me to simply drop off one at my son's work, and take the other home for the rest of us. Best of all, the fries and shakes are not prepared until walking in to the store, so the fries are hot and crisp and the shakes are cold and well mixed without a chance to settle out. Nice, well thought out touch. Price is admittedly an issue, and it's not just a matter of choosing between 5G and the notch lower faster food versions. If equivalent, these guys would win every time, but for most of us some times of the month the extra cost is out of reach and the cheaper alternatives are good enough and will have to do. Regardless of all that, Five Guys is a great new neighbor!
