Also, they have a great selection of toppings that are fresh. In full disclosure my son is a shift leader here, and he tells me that the food is so fresh, they do not even have a freezer in the store. The burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection (although I like rare burgers, but places cannot really make them that way due to food safety laws). Their service is fantastic and everyone is very friendly. Since everything is made fresh, you do have to wait a little while longer to get your food. The bottom line is when I want a burger and am out and about, Five Guys is my go to choice.

Five Guys opened last week where SaladWorks used to be. Brand spanking new in its logo red and white, with sacks of peanuts stacked in the middle of the floor, the excellent, but messy standard two patty sandwich with all free accessories, come in at $9.35+ on sesame seed bun. The spill over fries are outrageous, with the smallest cup capable of feeding three people. Shakes are also customizable, but although delectable, are just too sweet for a healthy drink. Their app works well, so ordering from home or on the road is easy. It is well laid out and allows you to set the time you want to pick up the order in 15 minute increments. I was able to order two separate bags to allow me to simply drop off one at my son's work, and take the other home for the rest of us. Best of all, the fries and shakes are not prepared until walking in to the store, so the fries are hot and crisp and the shakes are cold and well mixed without a chance to settle out. Nice, well thought out touch. Price is admittedly an issue, and it's not just a matter of choosing between 5G and the notch lower faster food versions. If equivalent, these guys would win every time, but for most of us some times of the month the extra cost is out of reach and the cheaper alternatives are good enough and will have to do. The Mr and I got a 9 piece that came with slaw, Texas toast and fries. Was expecting a garlic flavor to the toast, but instead only got a toasted butter sesame flavor. The crinkle fries were good, not overly fried and salted nicely. Tried their Cane sauce and it tasted like a peppery mayo, ketchup mix of some kind. Also opted to try their Honey mustard sauce which was just alright. A bit runny for me with a tender, but would be good as a lite salad dressing. The Mr who loves slaw said it was alright, just needed salt. We paired this combo with a Sweet Tea, which was also just alright, not too sweet which is good. All in all a good experience that we left full and happy enough to hope they make their way up to New York to battle it out with the other finger licking chicken chains. If they do I can see myself gravitating more to it verses others.

I kept thinking that it might be really good & chose not to reprimand the server for his serving style. I live 10 minutes away. I went into the house, opened the bag, and the entire meal had leaked through the bottom of the cardboard bowl and was in a pile at the bottom of the bag. Why do they use cardboard bowls like that?
