The food was delicious, however, the service was way below average. The waitresses looked discouraged and full of attitude. The water glasses our server carried leaned against her shirt (why not use a small tray??) The champagne glass had someone else's lipstick on it; when we kindly asked to change for a clean one, the girl wasn't happy about the request and it took her forever to come back. She was in no rush at all and was very slow getting it to the table. The ladies' room didn't have any paper towels and when brought up to a group of waitresses sitting in a small group and chatting to each other, you could read the attitude right away. Not to mention we had to ask for silverware after the food was delivered. Clearly, very poorly trained staff. The management should really focus on making sure servers are able to provide a decent customer service which is not currently the case. read more

We really enjoyed our breakfast at Flourish! They have a nice assortment of standard American breakfast dishes, as well as some Ukraine dishes. The ambiance feels a bit more upscale than a traditional breakfast restaurant, but that's probably because they also service dinner. The service was a bit slow, but it was packed, so it wasn't the fault of the waitress. We will definitely come back for breakfast again! read more

If you want to come take a few pictures and have a great cup of coffee, I would come to Flourish. The decor and the coffee (especially the presentation on it's own board) is emmaculate! Sadly, I was less impressed with their food. I came here with a big group for brunch, we sat in the two round tables in the back. It was the first time for many of us, and I was between their speciality Syniki pancakes and Shakashuka at $15 each. The Syniki pancakes were tiny little cheesecakes, delicious but like a dessert and SMALL. It was not even served with a side of fruit at least to make up for the size (and price). The Shakashuka at least came with two rolls of bread, but it was only 2 eggs in the pan. The sauce was delicious, I wish it came with a side of salad or potatoes to justify paying $15 for 2 eggs. I think I wouldn't be a annoyed about the price, if it wasn't that we also got kicked out of our table. We were finishing our drinks and had not even paid, when they literally started moving our things to the side because "they needed our table for a big party." We ended up figuring out the bill standing up while the party was sat and we awkwardly tried to get our purses to pay. Thankfully our friends had the table next to us, so some people squeezed in, but it was so odd. I will say, that two people complained about the portion sizing and not liking their meal and were given macaroons. Which is funny because they didn't like their meals because they thought their Syniki pancakes were too sweet. Anyways, it was only my first time there, and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, and we were a large party so maybe I'll give it a try another time. read more

Food was delicious! I ordered the all season salad and swapped out the fried breaded chicken with grilled chicken. It was a very clean salad. My mom ordered the roast beef sandwich and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was good up until we wanted to get our bill. A big group came in and our server seemed to forget us. Not the biggest deal but it seemed as if she knew she was going to get a sizable tip from this group so ignored us for about 15 minutes. It looks like FLOURish, but sounds like Flourish Cafe, as it stands open for business in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, close by The Capital Grill. This Central European restaurant serves three meals a day in a cosmopolitan atmosphere that reminds of what can be found in Vienna, Prague or Budapest. Light sophistication and an inventive menu to keep you entertained and eager for more. We stopped in for late breakfast and found the dining room fairly crowded for a midweek eleven o'clock, but there was a table for us near the pastry display case, so no worries. The four page morning menu offered continental cuisine of western and central nations. We chose Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Eggs Florentine and Americano java for accompaniment. Both were very good, but require some explanation, as they had unexpected, but memorable attributes. The pancakes were light and covered in powdered sugar and a few berries, with a side cup of excellent sweet crème for dipping. The cakes were a bit dry and separated top from bottom when cut. Awkward for a fork, but still tasty. The Eggs Florentine were poached and resting on halves of brioche when served by our wait person. Unfortunately, one of the rounded eggs rolled right off the bread and onto the floor as it was placed before my son. Embarrassing for our server, but he handled it well with apology, replacement and free dessert. Nicely done! My son just smiled at his good fortune and ate everything. He was very satisfied. The coffee was strong and bracing. At about $15 a plate, the prices seemed reasonable. 4 Stars for the chance to sample a taste of Europe right in the neighborhood. read more

I won't be returning here as there are far better options elsewhere. To start, I arrived with a friend for our reservation. It took about ten minutes to be seated. I contribute this to the hostess also being the one bussing the tables; adding on that I give her credit for visually being a very hard working employee and she did it with a smile. However, the waiting area backed up quite quickly and even with a reservation I had to wait. Once seated, the chairs were noticeably comfortable with soft cushions on bottom and the back. The decor inside was cute and fun to look at. The place was packed and it was now around noon. It took ten minutes for our server to come over but service was good nonetheless (he too had many tables to handle). Starting with the orange juice- absolutely terrible. It definitely came from a carton and tasted like hotel orange juice. Neither one of us drank more than half. I'm used to fresh squeezed OJ that Princeton serves, and expected it here but it was not tasty. Our food took some time to come out but it was busy. The French toast was ok and nothing to write home about but it was good. There were very little berries though as that was a topping. It had syrup on the side. The side of bacon was quite pitiful as the bacon pieces were tiny and it was not a thick bacon but thin tiny pieces. The eggs came out 5 or so minutes later. We ordered them separately but they brought all four out in one bowl so we each had to scoop ours out. The eggs I will say were cooked to perfection. They also came with a white roll on the side which was tasty. Prices were ok and not outrageous except for that low quality orange juice. As for the facilities, there are single bathrooms. All in all it wasn't a home run here and for the long wait times and difficulty parking in the busy parking lot of the complex, I'll skip here and return to a favorite in Princeton. However if you're in Newtown I'd recommend googling other spots. To the management- I'm sure you are understaffed but please give that poor girl at the hostess a break and give her some help. We went here with three couples and for a while we were the only ones in the restaurant. About a half hour later 4 other people came and went. The restaurant decor is very pretty but unfortunately the service was terrible. Courses were brought out on top of each other. This is a big issue that I have with restaurants. I want to finish my appetizer before the entree comes out. We had dishes stacked up on each other. One couple had soup and the weren't ever have way through and thief main course was served. The menu is very extensive to the point where I can't even tell you what kind of restaurant it is. Lastly, we looked at the napkins they had at the table and they were cocktail napkins. I recently went to dinner at Flourish. It appears to specialize in breakfast fare, but that was not available. I had mushroom soup to start which was creamy and delicious. For a main course, I had a whole Dorado with potato wedges. The fish was cooked nicely. It was a large portion of food. The restaurant was decorated for the holiday and there was live music. The music was very loud making it hard to have a conversation. The service was attentive. read more

What a disappointment. We heard it was amazing but it was far from that.... We arrived with a reservation at 6pm and it was empty. Guy playing guitar. Maybe two wait staff working. We order a starter and the Mahi Mahi. We were brought room temp water. There is no liquor license so we order soft drinks. They arrived in the can. We had to open them and pour them - again, no ice. We are told there is no Mahi Mahi but the waitress didn't know the name of the other fish on the menu? "The Branzino?" "YEAH!" The pumpkin soup was okay. French onion was quite good. The Branzino? Below average. Menu pic has the whole fish but we were served two small fillets. The asparagus was plain. That was it. The main course was placed as we were still eating the soups. We looked up and our server said...."Oh! You're not done? Well, I can clear your bowls or just leave these here!" With amazement, we asked for them to be left and we got to them after we were done with the soups. Had to ask for refills on water twice. Sorry to say that we aren't going back and we doubt this place will last. We had high hopes. $100 total for dinner which wasn't bad but very much not worth it. Hated writing this review but I read them for restaurants and appreciate honest reviews. This is one. Not recommending this place. read more

It was a bit different than your average breakfast place. Nice decorating and the food was excellent. It was expensive but you know what everything is a little bit expensive now I really can't tell if it's so much more expensive than any other place that serves pancakes and Belgium waffles. I imagine it's gonna take some business away from turning point and I think you get a little bit more food for your money at flourish. You have to try it at least once. Enjoy!! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at this restaurant was truly unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, the problems we ended up being well over an hour before we were seated. once we were finally seated. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. Our orders were mixed up more than once, and when we finally received our food it was underwhelming. Overall, this was a deeply disappointing experience. Poor service, long wait times, and subpar food. I would not recommend this place, and I certainly won't be returning. read more
