This is an AMAZING little Italian Restaurant about 3 miles from the Oxford Valley Mall. Looks, feels and tastes family owned. Its a BYOB What cute is is do you want a reservation? You actually have to call the restaurant! Old school The servers and service was excellent great staff! Now the food also was outstanding! From the meatball appetizer which was huge. Get 2 half pound meatballs with cheese and sauce over it and some slices of garlic Italian bread. My wife had the mixed seafood wit pasta and sauce. I had chicken cutlet Parmesan. Both main dishes were massive and totally absolutely delicious! We couldn't finish any of it. Literally brought home one of the meatballs, half of my chicken cut the Parmesan and some of the pasta from my wife's seafood dish. Prices are great and the food like I said fantastic. We were looking at the pizzas that they were coming out of the oven and are definitely gonna get that next time. Dined as a party of 4 on Valentine's Day. They only take reservations if it's a party of 5+. There's valet, which my friends were told they had to do- but considering there were so many nearby spots, I was told I could self-park when I asked. No wait at 5p, but there were a few waiting when we left. BYOB. Food overall is great. I wouldn't get the alfredo again but it was probably one of the better ones I've had. The alla vodka is one of the better ones I've had in PA but I'm still on the search for something that rivals the options in NY. The giant mozzarella was probably the highlight, and I appreciate the staff was able to "vegetarian-ize" pasta dishes for me. Pizza was really good. Two of my friends asked for garlic/cheese etc for their pizza numerous times and did not receive. One pizza was supposed to be a large but they brought a small, and I think he was too hungry to send it back. Chocolate cheesecake was okay but I wouldn't get it again. Portions are big, I ordered 2 pastas and it's been my lunch all week. Main complaint was that our waitress made us feel really rushed, probably due to it being Valentine's Day, which put a bit of a damper on the evening. Thinking back, the whole dinner did feel pretty "fast" which isn't ideal for a great experience. Would consider returning. read more

A fairly new place in our neighborhood that we have been meaning to try. It is about 515pm on a Wednesday. We are the only diners here. Service was prompt and friendly. It is a BYOB and we brought a nice bottle of Barolo. Had to open it ourselves. Ambiance is Scandinavian airline lounge very spartan. Metal chairs were uncomfortable. But cloth napkins. Menus are hard to read tiny words on a black background. Our server gave a couple of readable take out menus. Light Sinatra tunes were playing. We ordered a small Margarita pie and Nona's bolognese with pappardelle and eggplant parm with Rigatoni. The pizza came timely and was obviously just made. It was quite tasty and had a nice toasty crust. The sauce was very good. My eggplant was very good. Two large pieces of eggplant. Toasty breading and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The side of rigatoni was large. I could not finish this and brought it home. The portions are very large and could be smaller but who is complaining. My wife loved her meal but was unable to finish even half of it. The enormous meatball was sampled but also brought home. A bit too dense for me but good. They charge a service fee for credit card payments we paid cash. They also do a brisk take out business. This is a nice place with very good northern Italian food. It is also in our neighborhood. So excited to have this Italian restaurant open up in our town! It's not a chain, but a wonderful family-owned spot. We went on a Saturday night at 7:00 and had a short wait -- which actually made me happy to see how busy they were! It's a BYOB restaurant (always a plus in my book), and the portions are huge! My husband had the Nona's Bolognese, which he really enjoyed -- and he even had enough left over for another meal. I had the Colors of Italy, which was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. They don't serve bread for the table, but we ordered the garlic bread -- and wow, it was amazing! This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but it's clear they're already building a loyal following. We'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend giving them a try! read more

Food, delicious and very generous portions. Maybe the best chicken parmigiana I've experienced in bucks. Sauce is fantastic and crispy chicken. But, served in a shallow soup bowl made eating it difficult and messy. The utensils had water spots and no table cloths or placemats. Our server was helpful and attentive. Extra charges for bread and credit cards. We were there on Sunday night and mostly empty but still noisy. I think the ambiance was going for spartan minimalist but ends up just dark and dull. No canolli or espresso on the dessert menu. I will try a different dessert next time. BYOB is a plus but I was handed a corkscrew DIY. Enough picking. The best food and friendly staff. The food is so fresh and very big portions. We started with a Caesar salad that was delicious. Then got chicken parm and the shellfather dish (I did not shrimp and got extra clams) in white. Both were delicious. With the seafood dish, a lot of shells fell apart so there were small pieces in the dish. If that didn't happen, would've been 5 stars. Definitely coming back! read more

Abruzzi Ristorante has a minimalist utilitarian decor offset by an exceptionally rich marinara sauce that bathed my eggplant parmigiana and rigatoni bowl in very flavorful chunky tomato sluree that saw me finish the huge quantity of food, so as not to miss a single drop. Service was friendly and competent from beginning to end. My husband and I want to give a great big shout out to Abruzzi restaurant and staff. We had originally visited this restaurant a couple of months ago from a family recommendation. The food was amazing!!!!! We went back last night for my husband's birthday as he stated it was the best Italian meal he ever had and was wishing for it! It was the CFD! I never saw my husband eat so slow and when I asked him why, he said he wanted to savor every bite! I had the Balboa and it was simply amazing. The waitress was amazing with her great big smile and tentativeness. We have to say a great big thank you to Anthony as he went the distance for us to be sure my hubby was able to order the Abruzzi Affogato as the last time they did not have it. Thank you so much Anthony as we were both very amazed as well as very appreciative that you wanted to be sure you were able to have this for the customer, not even knowing us. That is what blew us away that you cared and wanted to make our evening special. Tons of love from us and we can't wait to come back. The first time we visited we had one of the best Charcuterie's called the Abruzzi Board and the Holy Ricotta appetizer was amazing! A nice find. Good Italian food with BYOB is always a bonus. We enjoyed this restaurant, from the very pleasant greeting to a pleasant helpful server. My go-to is eggplant parm and their's was one of the best I've had. Fried crispy with fresh great taste. We also got a small pizza to share just because they looked so darn good, and it did not disappoint. Thin crust with a kiss of charcoal just the way I love it. The menu could grow a little, but there were options for all four of us in our party. The restaurant is a little out of the way, but you're in the car already and there is plentiful parking. The food took a little bit of time to come out, but the wait was well worth it. With so many other Italian restaurants in the area, Abruzzi might get overlooked, but it certainly deserves a visit. read more

My friend and I enjoyed dinner here tonight. Her calamari appetizer looked delicious. My SPK soup was tasty though the spoon was a teaspoon not a soup spoon which seemed odd. I was really disappointed when halfway through my soup our entrees came out. I would have liked to finish the soup! I was surprised no bread was offered. I didn't see any bread on the menu but may have missed it. I've read in other reviews you can buy garlic bread. My friend enjoyed her Colors of Italy entree. My drunken rigatoni was a huge portion which was very tasty. I didn't notice any prosciutto like the menu described. There are a few other menu items I would like to try so will return with my family. Our server was very friendly. The ambiance is a step up from the restaurant that used to be here, but it is pretty spartan. I feel like four people at a table would be pretty tight. First time friends and I patronized Abruzzi Restaurant, for a birthday celebration. Atmosphere: left to be desired. Open, loud and no decor to any extent. Reminds me of a warehouse, open building. Utensils need to be wipe after coming out of dishwasher. Stained and one person still had food on the fork. Table had some stains on it. Busboy dropped utensils on floor...picked them up and put them on the table for the next party that comes in and seated there. Ugh! The layout of this business, could have been more thought out. Service: pleasant and accommodating. Food: It was okay, average. Nothing to rave about or special. The eggplant was somewhat tough. We tried Abruzzi after perusing what appeared to be a very interesting menu on line. When we entered the parking lot and saw valet parking we were surprised to find a very bland, undecorated, spare restaurant interior with not a shred of ambiance. The music was extremely loud and we asked twice that the volume be lowered so we could actually have conversation at the table. There was no sound absorption- lots of unadorned windows, wood floor- and the sound of chairs being scraped against the floor every time a table was cleaned. The tables for 4 are on the small side- no room for plates- and no one came by to clear salad plates before our meals were presented. It was just one course piled very quickly on top of another with no regard for pacing. Seems like the waitstaff needed better training or the kitchen crew needed better timing. We ordered a large salad to share. It was fresh, but odd that feta cheese would show up in a salad in an Italian restaurant. There was an orange dressing that came in two small plastic cups - hardly enough for the size of the salad. We asked for some bread for the table and were told they did not offer complimentary bread, but we could buy garlic bread for $4. We received 4 rather small pieces of garlic bread on that order. The dining utensils were made of thin metal and unpleasant to eat with. Dinner was bland. Tasteless. The pasta was cooked well, but the sauces we had were lacking any distinct flavor. We asked for Parmesan cheese and were given a tiny heavy bowl with about 2 tablespoons of cheese in it for 4 people. When the bill came, we noticed that we were being charged a surcharge for using a credit card. This was a huge turnoff to us. So classless. If the restaurant wants to play this game, they should just raise their price altogether. It was also unpleasant to have the waitress stand at our table while we determined the tip and paid on her handheld device. The best part of the experience was leaving and knowing this was an establishment we would not visit again. read more

Tried this place for the first time and started out well but ended not well Ordered a Chambersburg pie and it was okay however being raised and grew up in Chambersburg not even close. I can't comment on the food because we never received it. Hour and half later we left and was followed out the door by the owner and told not to return. Good food but ridiculously priced. Ordered a plate of spaghetti with bolonais with a soda. I asked for a dinner salad and bread for dipping. My bill showed 13 dollars for the dinner salad and 2 dollars for a roll. Surcharge for my credit card and my dinner for 1 for a plate of spaghetti with tip was over 50 dollars. Everything was amazing. Went to dinner with friends Friday night and the place was buzzing with activity. our server came over immediately and asked us for our drink order and if we wanted appetizers. We ordered the bruschetta and the mozzarella stick and they were amazing. House salad for the table and we ordered different dishes and each one was delicious. First visit and a big disappointment. The restaurant is noisy, and a screaming kid for the first 45 minutes didn't help. In all of the redesign of the restaurant, a sound absorbing ceiling would have helped. The food was good as was the service, and the prices for the most part were reasonable, although bread and a salad with an entree are not offered, so we ordered a Caesar salad which was too big and soaked with dressing. I hope these suggestions are taken to improve a restaurant with a lot of potential. read more
