Veal Marsala
Brian W.

Been back twice and time for another review. First off, so friendly and accommodating. None of the servers nor the chefs have said no any change requests. For us, this is key because sometimes a slight change from a starch to a veggie or less cream etc makes all the difference. This trip my wife ordered the eggplant rollatini as an app for her meal, which honestly could have been a full dish. So flavorful, so light you could have swallowed without chewing. Not oily at all. So good. I ordered the veal scaloppini with fresh mushrooms & marsala wine. The marsala wine sauce had to have been one of the best I've tasted since relocating from NYC. Love small family businesses that put their heart and soul into their food and service. BTW, BYOB.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

I ordered for pickup only took about 15 minutes and the staff was very welcoming and the place itself was very clean.

A regular and Sicilian - the sauce has a sweetness and is delisous

In these times of take out I just have to praise Pizza Pie 2 in Langhorne for a second time - great tasting pizza, great service - safe atmosphere during Covid. My question is have you given it a try, if so then you know what I am saying is right - if not then get there soon....

Stopped in the other day for a late lunch. This was a first visit since this pizza parlor changed hands, and it was immediately apparent that the entire shop had had a makeover. The kitchen was now in the back, and the dining room in front; a reversal of its original layout. New walls and floors made the place feel more upscale than the old place. Nice use of stone, wood and paint. We opted for cheesesteak and eggplant parm sandwiches. Both came with fries. The steak was a full load of chopped beef mixed with onions and mushrooms on a lightly crusted roll. Very good. The eggplant was thin sliced, breaded, sautéed in olive oil, and then grilled again in the oven, after which it was dosed with their homemade gravy and mozza. Again, very good. The rolls were notable for their crunch and pleasant taste. The fries were really unnecessary, and were the weakest part of the repast, as frozen crinkle cuts. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Will definitely return for the pizza and more menu items when in an Italian mood.

That is the metal food tie that was in my pizza

Just an update-- 6 years later and still feel the same. New ownership has lead to more food options that remain high quality.

Food quality not consistent. Dine in service could be a little more courteous, they seemed rushed and inexperienced.

Another double date with our foodie friend's pick…read more And wow what a pick! A beautifully decorated (both outside and inside) quaint restaurant, with a visible pizza oven. We shared a literally beautiful antipasto for an appetizer. It boasted fresh mozzarella balls, eggplant, artichokes, sweet red peppers, prosciutto, and olives. We had a good and soft loaf of bread with a yummy olive oil and balsamic dip too. Our meals were ALL tremendous! We had pasta dishes - gnocchi marsala and fettuccine with clams - EXCELLENT! I had plenty of sauce left to dip the soft bread into :) The other couple had octopus (appetizer) and seafood atop squid ink pappardelle pasta. They loved their dishes as well. Of course we didn't have room for dessert, but our chocolate wine and other wines were definitely sufficient. BYOB's are great and money saving. This place is a bit of a haul but I hope to get back in the future !

We had heard about La Voglia and decided to try it out! We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't…read moretoo crowded. The restaurant has a warm feel to it and is decorated nicely. They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!

Turns out the dining room is to the left of the door and the first room is basically a fast food take out area. Reminded us of Aldo's in Holland...if you have ever been there. The dining room was basically a no frills kinda place but much nicer than the other side. Love a byob and we had more bottles than people...party time! (Cheers). At the end of the meal Salvatore gave us complimentary choclate lemoncello...amazing. Soooo...the food itself. We started with calamari and also the antipasto. Perfect for sharing and all delicious. Calamari was a good one. I ordered the chicken française, which was even better as leftovers the next day since it marinated in the sauce. Hubs enjoyed his veal Marcella. In fact everyone enjoyed everything. Overall, we all left feeling full, satisfied, pleased and very happy. It was a good time! Thumbs definitely up on this place.

All of the issues were food related, not service. I ordered the chicken parmesan. My friends order the salmon and the seafood manicotti. My friend's salmon was perfect, the rest not so much. I could not cut the chicken parm with my knife, that is how tough it was. I demonstrated this to our server who offered a steak knife but I declined. The chicken was just as hard to chew as it was to cut. My friend's seafood manicotti was very fishy and clearly not fresh seafood. She ate half of hers and ended up just not finishing the rest. The server did offer to get us other options but we had a show at parx and didn't have time to wait for new entrees. I do think this location is beautiful. The garden room where we sat was lovely and the waterfall outside was a beautiful view. The prices were a little higher than most local Italian places. Between the higher prices and the food issues I described I probably will not return.

The inside is simple and classy, uncluttered and clean, but most of all a quality Italian eatery. For a Tuesday evening it was pretty slow. The waitress who helped me was personable and treated me like family. She tried to give me the "everything is good here", but I wasn't having it! I appreciated her patience as we perused through the menu. I finally went with the popular Saporito - Chicken/Veal (I chose Veal at $35), Egg Battered Scaloppine. Vermouth Sauce, Spinach, Mozzarella topped with crab meat. For my pasta side I chose was spaghetti and it came with a salad. I was loving the Vermouth Sauce, it was sweet and not too thick/watery. The Veal was a little tough, but was better after soaking up the tasty sauce like a sponge. The crab meat was plentiful and fresh. I was kind of shocked they don't give you bread with your meal. I'm not a huge bread guy, but it's a staple at Italian eateries. I enjoyed a nice glass of a dry oaky cabernet my new friend recommended. They had a decent sized wine bottle/glass menu. I'm not a wine expert, but many styles were represented and it seemed like the management is on top of their selections and recommendations. I will certainly return for a family dinner or date night with my wife. Thanks guys!
