Always a solid choice in Bensalem. Most pizza places around here are hit or miss, but they're very consistent here for pizza and wings.

“I had to laugh at the photo showing of the soup guy, because the owner is very much brash with a bit of attitude, but the pizza is still well Worth the visit.”

The staff is well trained, extremely friendly and most of all very willing to explain the daily specials or regular menu choices. The chef/owner, Robert Angelaccio, has been in the food industry for many years and it clearly shows. He regularly mingles with his patrons and really cares about your dining experience. His special expertise lies in his seasonings and sauces which are excellent. The Roasted Beet Salad and/or the Brussels Sprouts are just two of our favorite appetizers. Some of our favorite entries are the Mussels, Oslo Bucco, Flat Iron Steak, Vodka Rigatoni and the various Seafood specials to name just a few. Robert's wife, Alison, is the dessert chef and her offerings are quite scrumptious, so try to leave room for dessert which won't be easy. Their food is so good, we have had Annabella's cater many of our family events.

The wait staff were friendly & accommodating, we has 3 young woman who provided excellent service. The owner came out twice to check on us, he truly cares about his business. We enjoyed riceballs & a bread appetizer, mouthwatering deliciousness. The vodka rigatoni is the BEST I have eaten!! And the chicken parm was perfect. We enjoyed chocolate and cherry gelato, heaven. And the owner brought us an extra serving of limoncello gelato, yum yum yum. My first time at Annabellas will not be my last. The evening ended with a delightful stroll by the river, only a short walk from the restaurant. Support locally owned businesses like Annabellas - you will be happy you do!!

My wife and I have seen so many great reviews for Cafe Carmela and have been wanting to try it for…read morequite some time. The only problem is that it's not exactly convenient for us since we live in Jersey. Luckily for us, we wandered across the bridge and finally had the opportunity to give this place a try. We shared a cheesesteak with Cooper cheese and also ordered the Italiano chicken cutlet. Unfortunately, there was a little mix-up with our order, and instead of the chicken cutlet, we received the "Joey's Hot Honey." The cheesesteak was fantastic--packed with steak and cheese and served on a perfect seeded roll. And even though the Joey's Hot Honey wasn't what we ordered, it was absolutely delicious as well. We ended up taking it home with us, and after an hour-long drive, it was still delicious. We both agreed it probably would have been even better fresh off the grill. Mistakes happen, and honestly, I can't find it in my heart to give Cafe Carmela anything less than five stars. The food lived up to the hype, and we're glad we finally made the trip. Definitely worth the hype in my opinion. Five stars!

Cheesesteak only review. The other food looks amazing and smells amazing…read more Gave the infamous cheesesteak a run and it gave me the runs back. Its a good value, $16 for a heavy sandwich. 2 ppl or one obese person can be satisfied off it. Roll was decent but it got ruined from the large amount of seed oil they added into the cooking process. The roll actually split along the sides as i was eating it - violation. Grilled onions were under-cooked and way too many added. Customer service was good. Friendly ppl. Smells amazing in the restaurant. Provolone sharp is great. Much better option than cooper and its harder to find but Carmelas had it. Overall decent steak but it didnt meet expectations for me

The meal started with some bruschetta , followed by a basket of bread and seasoned olive oil , on the house. Our party of 4 shared 3 appetizers and two entrees. The portions were substantial and everything was fresh and well prepared. We started with the delicious grilled calamari , served with fresh tomato, red onion , capers and arugula; superb. We had the marinated artichoke hearts with cheese and truffle oil, and the fig carpaccio , both very good. For entrees we shared the Bronzino, filleted at the table , and the linguini with fresh seafood. Our server, Alina , was so helpful, making great recommendations upon request, as well as extremely personable and responsive. This restaurant was definitely a cut above what's typical for this price range and in this area. I look forward to returning soon.

We waited close to an hour for our entrees while the restaurant continued to fill up. With a hungry toddler, the long delay made it difficult to enjoy the visit. After waiting so long, we ultimately asked to have our food packed to go because staying any longer wasn't practical for our family. We also noticed that several nearby tables appeared to receive their entrees before we did, despite arriving after us, which left us feeling overlooked. As Asian and Puerto Rican customers, this made us wonder whether we were being treated differently. We can't know for certain what caused the delay, but the experience left us feeling unwelcome and overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable meal. (Edit: the food that we took home was delicious and beautifully presented but couldn't overshadow the service and unwelcoming presence)

I have to say this place is quite the conundrum. I have lived up the street from this restaurant…read morefor 8 months. I first tried some take out from them when my husband and I just moved into the area, & I was trying to get a feel for the good food spots. What I got was ehhhhh not memorable. It confused both of us that it seemed like a nice building, but the parking lot was never full- even on the weekends. A girlfriend of mine was visiting this evening, and we originally wanted to venture to Curtains Wharf for an outdoor on the water experience. An hour and a half wait, no thank you, and I said hey, let's go to Il Portico-been meaning to. Inside is very dated. It's got the vibes of a 1950's Italian cigar lounge. Again not busy, maybe 5 or 6 tables the whole twoish hours we were there. However, the staff seemed to really be trying to accommodate you, everyone was polite and helpful. A cocktail list and wine by glass list would really go far. We got some bread for the table, some of it was kind of rock hard & looked day old, but some of what looked like focaccia bread was good. We got excited for carpaccio on the apps side, but were disappointed to find it wasn't beef, but salmon (?) in an Italian restaurant? Odd. And we also saw a lot of Tuna options for entrees, again, odd. I did want steak originally, but NY strip isn't my fave, and I opted for Veal Medallions- very good. Sauce was delicious, veggies cooked just fine. $12 for an Arugula starter salad with legit, one tomato wedge was again ... odd. My friend had the beet salad and Branzino special, said they were both good. Only off thing was her Old Fashioned had the coloration of a Shirley Temple, but the flavor was on par and good. A couple weird little moments but we really enjoyed ourselves & would love to return.

Food was great! Service was also very good…read more... I had the veal parm chop... was good and alot! Live music which was a realy nice touch...
