What really stands out is the quality of their drinks. Every coffee I've tried has been expertly crafted with rich flavor and excellent balance. I'm writing this review hoping the owner reads it. I went in at 11:30am today to get an almond croissant and a whole milk cappuccino costing me little over $15 with a tip. I made my order togo. I should've opened the lid of my coffee and took a bite of that pastry at the spot. I regret not doing so. I'm not a coffee expert but know how cappuccinos and croissants should taste. When I opened the lid, the heart the barista intended to draw was distorted pretty bad and large bubble marks were all over the foam. Espresso splash marks everywhere which indicated that the milk pouring was not careful. The place was not busy at all and I dont know what the hurry was. The foam was very minimal. When you order a cappuccino, you order to experience that creamy foam texture but it was nothing like what I expected. I specifically asked for whole milk but it wasn't whole milk. My hope was on the croissant but the first bite.... Stale.. i trashed both after three sips and two bites. It feels like I got robbed, regretting tipping the barista. You know, it's so hard to go wrong with your coffee and pastry these days in SoCal coffee shops since there are sooo many competing next to each other. It was a total disappointment because I love going to Coffee Code in Buena Park on beach. But not sure what happened to this location. Could be the barista, could be the quality control, or the management but surely not returning. read more

I love the vibes and how aesthetically pleasing this Coffee Code location is. The barista was really nice and made my order quickly. Loved the flavors of both lattes. They tasted as described and field my caffeine for the day. I got the option to add OAT milk which I highly recommend as my drink tasted creamy. We spent over $20 on coffee and because it was lunch time my friend and I had some food. When we went to the bar to pickup our coffee we were informed we would have to leave because our food "smelled bad".
