Parking always a challenge here but not impossible. Great food and service. The lobby area is nothing like the outside. Very nice with a beautiful view. I had the omelet with grits and potatoes and my friend loved her fish and chips. Drinks are pretty and strong too. Would go again! All men staff too-interesting ...
This place was super cute and had such great reviews, so we had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! Right by the beach with such a beautiful La Jolla vibe. The service was great and surprisingly quick, and the food was pretty good too! Definitely a cute spot to add to the brunch list.
We came for a brunch on Thursday. I really enjoyed the outside sitting and the friendly server. Food was delicious and we did not wait long to get it, we took dozens of pictures while we were waiting for Food.
Cody's has a very beautiful view so you should try to get an outdoor seat. The food itself was okay! Nothing to write home about but definitely good. The food is not cheap either. If you are trying to come here for value this is definitely not it. I got the surf and turf Benedict for about 30 bucks and it was a very very small portion size. This place is definitely for the vibes not the food! The service was definitely great. People were super nice and tentative and made sure we were taken care off. I only recommend of you are looking for a nice view and a good chat.

Great location, great place. Stopped by for brunch, and they had a great food selection without being overwhelmed. Service was nice and the food came out super quickly. Our table was always being taken care of The food was delicious. We had omelets, which were delicious and their pricing is very reasonable. Family suggested this restaurant while we were in town and it did not disappoint. Soon as I saw the blueberry pancakes, I knew that I had to have them. I also went with (crispy) bacon and a side of potatoes that were delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive. And of course, the views of La Jolla Cove were stunning
Date of Visit: 12.27.2025 Cuisine Type: American/Seafood Vibe: Nautical themed with amazing view over La Jolla Cost: ~$20-$30 depending on what you get This was a nice little discovery recommended by my parents who sometimes walk around La Jolla (very unexpected surprise). This place was ultra busy but we were fortunate to come during an off peak time (wait was still 35 minutes) What We Ordered: Cappuccino - 4/5 - I prefer cold brew but this was as expected milk and chocolatey with the hint of coffee. Cody's Burgers -4/5 - All the elements of a good burger (i simply don't like most burgers since it's just too messy to manage), the fries are double fried so it remains the nice crispiness despite being round wet ingredients Lobster Roll - 5/5- Massive...you have the tail and claws and a 1/2 a loaf of toasted brioche bread...it is honestly worth the cost Steak and Frites -4/5- Cooked well! The green sauce is creamy but I guess if we are doing sauce I prefer chimichurri French Toast -3/5- Everything is fresh on this plate. Not too sweet but I guess the french toast isn't that crispy but also I personally don't really like horchata egg toast Fish n Chips -5/5- The breading is done right...light enough so it creates crisp and not become its own entity when you take a bite. Also their cole slaw doesn't use typical ranch it feels like greek yogurt or something. I actually really appreciate the nod towards making things actually healthy Atmosphere: Clean, feels relatively private even though we were pretty much next to the main door, open bar concept in the center, and there is a deck further down the restaurant with more open air dining environment Service: Quick and friendly staff Ambiance: Fun, festive with sea decor, and great view of people and the coast Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: Lobster Roll Something to improve: Most things are pretty peak already. I think if anything make the french toast crispier and the burger easier to eat heh. See y'all again one day.
We've been here for a late brunch a couple times on the weekend and haven't had a wait for a table. Both times we were seated at the same booth. The frose is very good, especially on a warm day. My husband typically gets the lobster roll while I get a benedict. Both entrees are very good and filling. Service has been good as well. The servers are friendly, though there is sometimes a bit of a wait to get drinks and food when they are busy. Overall, a great spot for brunch. A little pricey, but that is expected with the area. Dog friendly as well.
Overall, it was a good experience. The location is beautiful, the views are great, and the service was friendly. I ordered the omelet, and it was a bit underwhelming. I honestly found myself wishing I had ordered something else. Looking around, a lot of the other dishes coming out to nearby tables looked much more appealing. Even though my meal wasn't my favorite, I'd still come back and try something different because the overall atmosphere and experience were enjoyable.
This may be my most reviewed brunch spot in San Diego and I truly tell everyone to go here when they are visiting because the food, service, and views are all 5 star worthy! I came recently with my puppy and I was blown away by how helpful they were with getting everything for not only myself but him too. I came right at opening so it was not busy so I got a table right on the outside patio and they brought over a bowl of water for the pup which he needed after running through the park before. I ended up ordering some coffee and my brunch and I also asked if I could get a some things for my pup to have some food as well. They were so amazing and even brought it out in a dog bowl for him and gave it to me first to make sure I could give him the portion I wanted which was just above and beyond what I thought. I normally always bring a little water bowl and stuff for him anywhere we go that is dog friendly. I got my usual which is the traditional eggs benny and I get it with the potatoes and added avocado. I truly love how fresh everything tastes here and it is a quality meal that I think is worth the price of it when going out to eat. I have enjoyed every meal that I have had here and will continue to come back again and again!
A relaxing perch to gaze upon the ocean and have a delicious breakfast. Met some friends here for a Tuesday morning brunch. Waitstaff walked us through the menu.

the perfect spot for drinks and apps when you're in La Jolla. Took a long walk along the coast and then stopped here for some cocktails and crab cakes. Our server Gabaum was very attentive and friendly! I got a few sea foam cocktails- so refreshing and delish on a warm day! read more

We had such a great lunch at Cody's. The crab artichoke dip and the calamari were my favorite. I just think the calamari would be better if it were the calamari rings, instead of strips of calamari steak, but that's just my preference. We also tried the fish tacos and the fish and chips, both of which were good. The outdoor space has such a nice view of the ocean and the restaurant itself is very pretty. Finally, the service was good and our waiter was very friendly. Would go again! read more

Chic restaurant situated on a higher level 2nd floor. When visited, no reservations were being taken and was walk-in service. Staff is extremely nice and are attentive to your needs. Traditional brunch menu options are available. Opted in for the classic eggs Benedict and everything tasted superb. There is a happy hour menu providing good options to choose from as well. Can't say enough good things about Cody's! Our waiter was Alejandro, he was very helpful and informative on the different types of dishes they had. It was our first time in La Jolla and gave great recommendations on what to see while there. We came on a Sunday morning and we're seated right away, we were a group of four and the service was exceptional. If you you're considering dinning at Cody's I highly recommend, we will definitely be coming back when in SoCal. read more

Came here last weekend for brunch and it was a very nice spot. One of the best dining views that you will get in La Jolla Cove. Can see the water right from the patio (see photo). We were a party of 6 and got there around 11 and it was an hour wait. We luckily got one of the best seats in the house where every chair was facing the water, so nice! * * We almost all got different things and we all enjoyed our food. I got the chicken and biscuits w/ sausage gravy and it was very good and filling! The gravy was very good! You can also order it as a side without the chicken, which is a nice option. My girlfriend got the fried chicken sandwich which was good, standard. My brother got the crab eggs Benedict and her said that was really good as well! * * This is a very nice place to dine when visiting La Jolla Cove. read more

Cody's was an absolutely delightful experience. Our total bill was $87, see pictures for our delicious orders! Customer Service: 5 stars Food / Drinks: 4 stars Wait Time: 4 stars COVID Safety: 3 stars Price: 3 stars Customer Service: Our waiter was very attentive and helpful, gave us recommendations on the menu. He went over some hidden items that were not on the menu including Vday specials and drinks, they have many additional cocktail options so definitely ask! When we needed something, they brought it over right away! Food / Drinks: We were really satisfied with our orders! I would absolutely order the omelette again! The crab chowder bread bowl was the perfect texture, crispy crust and soft bread! Really enjoyed dipping the bread in the chowder and even pairing it with some avocado that's on my omelette! Lobster roll was delicious, and of course, very impressive in appearance! The roll was toasted perfectly, but I wish the lobster was fresh and more proportioned with the roll. In terms of drinks... unless you're a fan of sweet / candy like cocktails, I would recommend ordering something else. The Espresso Martini was perfect though! Very similar to Bailey's + coffee taste. Wait time: We arrived at around 11:15 on a Saturday morning, waited about 45-50 minutes. They don't have a text / call when table is ready feature, so you'll have to make sure you're monitoring the time yourself. COVID Safety: All employees are masked! I wish the tables were more spaced out, we were definitely not 6 feet apart from other customers. Price: The price is aligned with other La Jolla restaurants, but it's still quite pricey!! We had a delicious breakfast-Farmers omelet and Veg hash - both excellent! Great service! Nice view from patio !! Street parking not too bad - it was a Wednesday though. Would definitely go back - regret not getting the half order of French toast. read more
This place is beautiful, has also an amazing view (it is located on the 2nd floor). There is a parking garage right below, and it also has view to the ocean. The place looked cleaned and it's a very cozy place. The service was good, and the food was good. Ordered French toast, they looked and tasted amazing. Also tried the chilaquiles, everything was good except the canned black beans. Ordered a vanilla latte, it was a little bitter for my taste but highly recommend this place for the view, for photos and for a great time. Gabaum was our server and he was great! The wait was 20 min exactly for 3 people at 1130 am on a Sunday. The food came out SO QUICK and was delicious. Every single thing. We got the French toast, 2 sides of bacon, crispy chicken biscuit and the Farmers market omelette. Along with a beer, glass of rose and an espresso martini. Definitely returning! read more

Awesome drinks, great food..ok service. After being told by the host that the wait was 30 min. We left and came back to hear we were to wait another 45 minutes. Their excuse: people weren't leaving? Odd. We sat at the bar and had a couple cocktails while waiting for the table. The drinks were great- the bartender was awesome and so was his service. Once seated, we were overlooked by our server time and time again, but chose to ignore it based on the quality of the food/drinks. Love the esthetic and ocean views from the patio! read more

Checked in for a Saturday brunch and was seated within 15 minutes! The host was very nice and responsive. We were taken to our seat which was this little high-step nook area and we had a wonderful view of the bar and peaks of the water. Ambiance was great! Loud music, plentiful guests, and high energy staff. Their cocktail selection was highly tempting as I saw another guest at a different table order the bloody mary which had a long piece of bacon sticking out! How cool! But I had decided to opt out as it was still just the afternoon for me. We started off with an order of the ceviche. It came plated beautifully and each bite was flavorful and amazing! Would recommend this dish to anyone who comes. I ordered the Chicken Crispy Sandy and I would not order this again. I saw a review posted by another user suggesting to have the horseradish on the side. I asked my server of this and he said there is no horseradish sauce within the sandwich. After having tried the sandwich, there was this horseradish-taste sauce and I immediately regretted ordering it. It was such a strong taste I could not get past. My friend ordered the Lobster roll. So yummy! The bread part was so nicely toasted and crunchy! Would get again! Parking: We easily found parking on the street. Best of luck to everyone with this! Cody's La Jolla has moved to a new and better location since the last time I came! They're now upstairs overlooking the beautiful La Jolla cove with bigger/better seating and upgraded their entire interior to look super beachy and modern. Since I came during COVID times, we got seated outdoors which was honestly preferred because the views (and weather) outside was beautiful. The service was great and they even gave our dog some water since it was a pretty hot day. I ordered the fish and chips and my boyfriend ordered the eggs benedict and both were good. Considering the price for both dishes I expected a little more - my fries were soggy and my fish tasted kind of off but it wasn't bad. The drinks we ordered were refreshing and they did a great job with presentation. Overall, would recommend coming again. Definitely a tourist spot so in normal times it would be packed so make sure to come early or make a reservation! read more

Brunch with the girls was a success. It does not matter if it's cloudy or sunny, Cody's is definitely a vibe with amazing flavors and a beautiful sea side view. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandy... let me tell you... I ate every bite!!! Highly recommended it was worth every penny read more

We went there at around 5:30 ish and the sun was setting, a nice view of the la jolla shops and some part of the shores which was great. Live music was great too. We ordered fries and the serving size was great! We also had mini lobster rolls which tasted good and the oysters was fresh! For drinks i ordered a cocktail and my hubby got a mocha coffee. I love that they can be accessed with an elevator which made their place wheelchair and stroller-friendly. read more

This cute place by the sea in La Jolla has such a cool vibe and I loved every bit of it. We went there on a saturday morning for brunch. There was around 20mins wait which was not bad. The service was just awesome, vibe was pretty cool and the food and drinks were super amazing. We ordered mango margarita and rum punch. The presentation was amazing and drinks were tasty especially the mango margarita. We ordered bacon cheddar omelette , chilaquiles and french toast. They were all tasty but french toast is my favorite. Highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch read more

This popular brunch spot is a no for me. Despite having a killer location and great rooftop views the food was just ok and the service left something to be desired. My friend and I had brunch here and had a fifteen minute wait even with a reservation, then 45 minutes into our dining experience the hostess came over and explained that we needed to leave or go to the bar because other people were waiting even though we had been ordering drinks and still had food on our plates. To no one's surprise the bar was full so we decided to leave. We actually wanted to use the restrooms before leaving but they were filthy and we decided to head to Better Buzz instead. Again, food was ok and the view was spectacular but the service will prevent either of us from returning. read more

They will be at 1025 Prospect St., Suite 210. I'm not sure when, though. Their Facebook site says "see you in the Spring" but no specific date. I walked by the new location today, and it's not ready yet.
Gluten free options?
They have eggs and fruit and breakfast meats. Their menu should go over more options for you.
Can they handle a group of 20?
Yeah, they have a huge patio that has a beautiful overlook of the Cove and a inside too. I would call them first before you go down there just be safe
