Parking always a challenge here but not impossible. Great food and service. The lobby area is nothing like the outside. Very nice with a beautiful view. I had the omelet with grits and potatoes and my friend loved her fish and chips. Drinks are pretty and strong too. Would go again! All men staff too-interesting ...
This place was super cute and had such great reviews, so we had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! Right by the beach with such a beautiful La Jolla vibe. The service was great and surprisingly quick, and the food was pretty good too! Definitely a cute spot to add to the brunch list.
We came for a brunch on Thursday. I really enjoyed the outside sitting and the friendly server. Food was delicious and we did not wait long to get it, we took dozens of pictures while we were waiting for Food.
Cody's has a very beautiful view so you should try to get an outdoor seat. The food itself was okay! Nothing to write home about but definitely good. The food is not cheap either. If you are trying to come here for value this is definitely not it. I got the surf and turf Benedict for about 30 bucks and it was a very very small portion size. This place is definitely for the vibes not the food! The service was definitely great. People were super nice and tentative and made sure we were taken care off. I only recommend of you are looking for a nice view and a good chat.

Great location, great place. Stopped by for brunch, and they had a great food selection without being overwhelmed. Service was nice and the food came out super quickly. Our table was always being taken care of The food was delicious. We had omelets, which were delicious and their pricing is very reasonable. Family suggested this restaurant while we were in town and it did not disappoint. Soon as I saw the blueberry pancakes, I knew that I had to have them. I also went with (crispy) bacon and a side of potatoes that were delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive. And of course, the views of La Jolla Cove were stunning
Date of Visit: 12.27.2025 Cuisine Type: American/Seafood Vibe: Nautical themed with amazing view over La Jolla Cost: ~$20-$30 depending on what you get This was a nice little discovery recommended by my parents who sometimes walk around La Jolla (very unexpected surprise). This place was ultra busy but we were fortunate to come during an off peak time (wait was still 35 minutes) What We Ordered: Cappuccino - 4/5 - I prefer cold brew but this was as expected milk and chocolatey with the hint of coffee. Cody's Burgers -4/5 - All the elements of a good burger (i simply don't like most burgers since it's just too messy to manage), the fries are double fried so it remains the nice crispiness despite being round wet ingredients Lobster Roll - 5/5- Massive...you have the tail and claws and a 1/2 a loaf of toasted brioche bread...it is honestly worth the cost Steak and Frites -4/5- Cooked well! The green sauce is creamy but I guess if we are doing sauce I prefer chimichurri French Toast -3/5- Everything is fresh on this plate. Not too sweet but I guess the french toast isn't that crispy but also I personally don't really like horchata egg toast Fish n Chips -5/5- The breading is done right...light enough so it creates crisp and not become its own entity when you take a bite. Also their cole slaw doesn't use typical ranch it feels like greek yogurt or something. I actually really appreciate the nod towards making things actually healthy Atmosphere: Clean, feels relatively private even though we were pretty much next to the main door, open bar concept in the center, and there is a deck further down the restaurant with more open air dining environment Service: Quick and friendly staff Ambiance: Fun, festive with sea decor, and great view of people and the coast Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: Lobster Roll Something to improve: Most things are pretty peak already. We've been here for a late brunch a couple times on the weekend and haven't had a wait for a table. Both times we were seated at the same booth. The frose is very good, especially on a warm day. My husband typically gets the lobster roll while I get a benedict. Both entrees are very good and filling. Service has been good as well. The servers are friendly, though there is sometimes a bit of a wait to get drinks and food when they are busy. Overall, a great spot for brunch. A little pricey, but that is expected with the area. Dog friendly as well.
Overall, it was a good experience. The location is beautiful, the views are great, and the service was friendly. I ordered the omelet, and it was a bit underwhelming. I honestly found myself wishing I had ordered something else. Looking around, a lot of the other dishes coming out to nearby tables looked much more appealing. Even though my meal wasn't my favorite, I'd still come back and try something different because the overall atmosphere and experience were enjoyable.
This may be my most reviewed brunch spot in San Diego and I truly tell everyone to go here when they are visiting because the food, service, and views are all 5 star worthy! I came recently with my puppy and I was blown away by how helpful they were with getting everything for not only myself but him too. I came right at opening so it was not busy so I got a table right on the outside patio and they brought over a bowl of water for the pup which he needed after running through the park before. I ended up ordering some coffee and my brunch and I also asked if I could get a some things for my pup to have some food as well. They were so amazing and even brought it out in a dog bowl for him and gave it to me first to make sure I could give him the portion I wanted which was just above and beyond what I thought. I normally always bring a little water bowl and stuff for him anywhere we go that is dog friendly. I got my usual which is the traditional eggs benny and I get it with the potatoes and added avocado. I truly love how fresh everything tastes here and it is a quality meal that I think is worth the price of it when going out to eat. I have enjoyed every meal that I have had here and will continue to come back again and again!
A relaxing perch to gaze upon the ocean and have a delicious breakfast. Met some friends here for a Tuesday morning brunch. Waitstaff walked us through the menu.
Cody's is my new favorite brunch spot in La Jolla! The food was delicious, nicely portioned, and the service was friendly. I found free 2 hour street parking right in front and there was no wait to be seated. We got to sit in the cabana which I highly recommend especially if you're celebrating. It was nice out and I'm glad that we could see the ocean in the background. The food presentation was beautiful and it tasted just as delicious as it looked! For about $20 a plate it's a great value especially for the location. Check them out next time you're in La Jolla! read more
What can I say...the drinks were delightful. We were meeting friends up and got there early so the table wasn't quite ready yet so we sat at the bar. The bartenders we're friendly and super helpful. Not only that, but the drinks came out wonderful every time. Consistency is key! The table was ready shortly before our friends got there, so we sat down and we're greeted right away. No pressure, and friendly. Once our friends showed up, we got another round of drinks and perused the menu. The chilaquiles, the chicken biscuit sandy and the french toast. Everything was amazing! Chilaquiles are either hit or miss and there aren't many places in SD that do them well, but Cody's surely does. You won't be disappointed if you try them. I went with chicken biscuit sandy and my only complaint would be give me a slightly bigger portion, otherwise it was also amazing. The gravy was nice, not salty but flavorful, the chicken cooked perfect and the biscuit was soft but crunchy. Our friends had the chilaquiles as well and the french toast and they enjoyed both. As far as brunch spots go, Cody's did a great job with the space and you'll catch a variety of people there making it the best place to people watch. I highly recommend it and will be going again soon! Side note, the food was so good it was gone by the time I remembered to take pictures. We did catch a photo of the drinks though lol read more

Cody's La Jolla is one of the most beautiful and relaxing restaurants in La Jolla. Its above street view and every angle of the patio has a view of the water. The service is welcoming, fast, and attentive. I appreciate the effort staff put with each customer. The Benedict was delicious! I was able to taste each flavor on the dish- the lobster on the butter, the steak, and the hollandaise sauce. It all went well together. read more

Great views solid service did not get server name but he was from Brasil , food was ok menu needs little help on menu option very basic love the views and happy to have a great puppy menu .would like to see more food options instead of bready and fried items ! read more
I want to give Cody's 3.5 stars, but I can only do full stars, and 4 seems too high. Overall, I don't think I'll come back because the food or service didn't "wow" me. My husband and I came around 2pm on a Saturday; there wasn't any outdoor seating available so we chose to sit at the bar. Our waitress wasn't very personable or attentive, and we didn't really see her much. They had a guy bring out our food, and another guy at the bar kept refilling our sodas for us. He also got us our check for us because we didn't see our waitress for a while and asked when he was nearby. As for the menu, I thought the food was...good. It wasn't anything great. The prices were ok for what we got - understandable for being in La Jolla and having an ocean view (even though we couldn't really see it from where we sat at the bar). My husband and I split the chicken sandwich and the burger. Like I mentioned, both were good but nothing spectacular. read more
Found this joint on yelp n so glad we visited for my birthday. They do not take rsvp but for a table for 4 on a Saturday at 11am, it was a 25 min wait. Not bad. Service n food was on point. We all loved our dishes. Just wish the weather was nicer than overcast n freezing. Not their fault. We will definitely be back. read more

This place was 10/10. They have a great view with great food and drinks. We came for brunch on a Saturday so there was a little bit of a wait but not bad. I think we waited about 25 minutes. I ordered the lobster roll and it was delicious! I also ordered a latte and it was great as well. Other people had ordered drinks and they looked really good too. Fast service and great food with a little view of La Jolla. read more
Love, love, LOVED our brunch at Cody's! An absolute must if you're visiting San Diego. We'd be there every weekend if we didn't live across the country! Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly host and promptly seated at a table with a GORGEOUS view of La Jolla Cove. Our server brought over some waters and we decided to order two Bloody Mary's which were amazing by the way. The bacon that came with it was so good, definitely oven baked! Oh, and is salt in your water a thing in San Diego? Because we definitely put some of the flaky salt that was given to us with the waters into our glasses lol. Not bad! I got the bacon and cheddar omelet and my husband got the chicken biscuit sandy. WOW! I usually don't go for omelets but so glad I decided to try it. My husband's meal definitely stole the show-- the chicken was so crispy yet juicy, and the sausage gravy was flavorful but light. I also want to add that the food came out super quickly which was great because we had a full day of sight seeing ahead of us. I think even our server was a little shocked by how quickly we came and went! There were two bathrooms which were clean and well decorated. Cute second story restaurant with a view! We came for brunch on a Sunday and although there was a crowd the wait was only 20 minutes. We ordered some bloody Mary's with spicy vodka and although I can usually handle some spice this was very very spicy. The mix was a bit watery so it could have toned it down a bit if it was a thicker mix. For food we ordered the crab artichoke dip to start and it was amazing. Very filling though so beware! I also ordered a breakfast salad with poached eggs and a crab and corn chowder. The chowder was ok flavor wise but more of a soup consistency and the salad was good. One suggestion I would have is to turn the music down a bit. We were close to the speaker and it was blasting 80s hits extremely loud the whole time read more

Beautiful location and delicious food! I must say that the plate that took the show was the French Toast! So nicely put and very good! We enjoyed the view and the ambiance, very chill spot, and family-friendly. Parking is a little busy so make sure you be patient with that. At the end of the day, everyone has to visit Cody's! read more
Cody's La Jolla is the definition of Sunday Brunch. Think cute furniture, a great patio, and amazing views. What we ordered: the farmer's market omelet and fish and chips The farmer's market omelet had the option to do grits or potatoes. I picked the potatoes but it sounded like they have famous grits that I should've tried (next time). The omelet was pretty good - it could have been fluffier, but I liked the veggie combo. The fish and chips were ok. The batter probably could have been crispier and the fries were a little bit soggy. But not too bad of a meal. I'd give Cody's a solid three and a half stars but bumping it up to four stars because of the scrambled eggs and chicken brunch options for the pup. read more
LOCATION: on the second floor of an unassuming building. They moved up one block from their prior beach house location. Incredible view from the patio of the beach and Palm Springs. Cute, relaxed, beachy furniture and vibes- even the bathroom wallpaper fits the aesthetics perfectly. FOOD: bomb. I got the vegan hash with a side of bacon as recommended by our waiter and have no regrets. My friend got the pancakes which are available only for breakfast and it was okay. I'm not a big fan of pancakes to begin with though. The French toast was definitely the highlight of our breakfast spread. Our waiter said it's the most popular dish and I can see why. Again, not a big fan of French toast to begin with but if I ever make a trip out of Cody's/SD again, I'm definitely ordering the French toast. The bread and everything about it is perfect. SERVICE: AMAZING. I wish we got the name of our waiter but he was the BEST. We unfortunately got seated in the one patio table with sun and tried our best to contain ourselves in a sliver of shade but that San Diego sun is something else. Our waiter was so kind to bring us water with ice to keep us cool, a summer drink on the house (which got me on a good buzz to take my mind off the heat/long wait for food), and the French toast plate to share on the house! He was great and we were so grateful for his attention and care for us! I love Cody's brunch and have been here twice. From the foods to the ocean view of the outdoor patio, all are amazingly good. Both of the times we sat exactly the same spot, right facing the sea. I love the sunshine and cool breeze while enjoying a perfect Sunday brunch. I saw their Chicken Biscuits Sandy and was curious what that is. It's just so yummy! Love it when the biscuits soaked in gravy. I'm also a Benedict lover and the crab cakes Benedict was great! Actually I love the grits and hash potato even more! They were so good and I just can't stop eating. One slight thing is all dishes are kinda pricey - almost 30% more than a normal brunch. But considering the blessed location and delicate foods, I would love to come back! read more

I believe this is how good it gets! We really enjoyed our lunch at Cody's La Jolla on a very busy Sunday afternoon. After battling to find a parking space, we located Cody's on the second floor of a shopping building. We actually found parking in a convenient parking garage nearby. The waiting area was outside under a covered awning, the modern wood waiting benches were decorated with various printed pillows, and there were also magazines available to read while waiting for our table. We requested a table with a view, which took a little longer. However, the view was worth the wait. We could see the street below, people hustling around, and of course, the ocean. It was a great setting. Speaking of settings, the table settings were great; decorated with vases and small plants. Now to the food. We ordered their famous Fish and Chips, Fish Tacos with Beans, the Crab Cake Benedict, and an All-American Breakfast. Each entree was great, with the fish and chips being our favorite. The runner up was the lightly battered fish tacos and beans. The fish tacos also came with large slices of fresh avocados. The food was right on point! Regarding the service, it was excellent. Our server TYLER, who sounded just like the actor Christian Slater, was outstanding. He even wanted to alert me to the fact the beans has some pork in them to which I said bring it on. The server knew the entrees we ordered in and out. He was also very attentive and friendly. Cody's La Jolla absolutely hit the spot for us, and we will return. read more

Great place for brunch! Warm welcome when we came in from the staff. We ordered French toast and lobster Benedict. Both were absolute scrumptious! Thick syrup and honey butter came with the French toast and the Benedict was just on a different level. Service was very professional and they did not miss a beat. We'll be back!! read more
PROS: The French Toast was made to perfection. I normally don't care for lobster rolls, but I ordered it for my mom. I was pleasantly surprised cause it was delicious. The fries on the side were a plus. I also got the Del Mar Mule and I would highly recommend, it's strong, but not that bad. Located in the heart of La Jolla, just steps away from the beach covered with sea lions! The restaurant is upstairs with a beautiful view of the ocean. They have very open waiting room with cute chairs and pillows. Cody's also has patio seating. Unfortunately the patio was full on a Monday morning, but my friends and I got a great spot inside by the window. Cody's opens up all the windows, so it feels like you're outside. Service was quick and you get salt water taffy after your meal! Veggie Hash: There was alot of potato in this hash, so it turned out to be a hefty meal! I wasn't a fan of the crunchy parts of the potato, but my friend ate them for me and enjoyed them. Egg was cooked perfectly, but I wish there was more vegetables. Not too bad for a $15 meal. French Toast: This is what Cody's is known for and I highly recommend. The toast was fluffy and sweet even without syrup. The nuts also added a great crunch to the dish. Overall, Cody's is an adorable place for brunch and booze with your besties. Will definitely come back again next time I'm in San Diego! read more

It's been years since I've been to Cody's.....they were still at the shack down the street last time I was there! Brought friends here for brunch tonight and it was just as good as I remembered :) but with more arm room! Sparkling white sangria and spicy mango margaritas are just what we needed on this warm morning! Brunch menu did not disappoint we all cleared our plates, I wouldn't recommend the chicken add-on to the chilaquiles it was very small though, other than that everything was perfect and our waiter was great! Awesome place for brunch. Not only is there a beautiful view, but the patio and inside of the restaurant are cute and chic and the food is delicious. The French toast is amazing. The beer battered fish tacos were huge and gave you a giant piece of cod on the taco. I also had fish and chips, but with a salad instead of fries. It also comes with onion rings! Drinks are also fun here. read more

First let me say DOG friendly woot woot so I brought my two babies Lou and rascal to have brunch! Now the food! First time here and I got the farmer's market omelet!! It was delicious, and so light which was perfect hehe so I didn't feel overly stuffed. Definitely recommend coming here for brunch read more

It was good, it was a nice pleasant experience. The food was good, drinks were good too. Staff was very friendly, our waitress only came over twice, to place our order and leave the check, so when we needed silverware and napkins we had to get up and get it or when we wanted water we had to get up and ask for it as well. But overall I do recommend trying it out since the ambiance is really nice. read more

Oh my word, where do I start?! The location is amazing. It's a rooftop restaurant (also has a bar if I'm remembering correctly). We were seated quickly, which was a shock because the other restaurants were full! The decor was gorgeous. Very "instagramable" if that's something you're looking for, but otherwise it's just such a beautiful place to eat. The staff was so friendly (I wish I had caught our waiter's name because he was so wonderful)! Quick service. The food-- SO GOOD! My husband said that was probably the best chicken sandwich he's had. My fish and chips were great, and the sweet and sour dipping sauce was a nice surprise! The price is a tad high, but we knew we were also paying for the view and location. In this case, you get what you pay for! Worth it! We were so glad the restaurant we were going to originally was full, because we would choose Cody's again and again! read more

They will be at 1025 Prospect St., Suite 210. I'm not sure when, though. Their Facebook site says "see you in the Spring" but no specific date. I walked by the new location today, and it's not ready yet.
Gluten free options?
They have eggs and fruit and breakfast meats. Their menu should go over more options for you.
Can they handle a group of 20?
Yeah, they have a huge patio that has a beautiful overlook of the Cove and a inside too. I would call them first before you go down there just be safe
