Such a cute cafe! The pastries looked like art pieces in the display. We tried their triple chocolate mousse cake. Yummy mix of white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate mousses! Their cappuccinos were great too! read more

I visited Cocola Bakery on Sunday, 11/5/23, in the evening time. I wasn't able to try any of the baked items during this visit. However, I opted for the Cookies & Cream - Organic Ice Cream. The ice cream was so delicious and tasty! I loved how it was freshly made in-house. I even kept the cute container. I will be returning to this bakery to try more things. read more

Decent bakery in the Row. It's usually always busy. I found it to be subpar every time I went and tried something new. This time I got the mango passionfruit Bamboo mousse dessert which was pretty good. I don't love the drinks here for some reason. Also tried the chocolate croissant which had wayyyyy too much chocolate cream inside that it weighted it down. Cute place to grab desserts or a coffee while shopping, but gets way too packed inside. Limited seating inside, most of the seating is outside. read more

I always pass this cute bakery and want to try it out. The pastries and vibe were amazing but I was going to try their banana hot chocolate. I was very interested in what it would taste like. I love bananas and hot chocolate so this would be an interesting blend. I tried it and yikes. It was super sweet. The banana flavor was there but a bit overwhelming. It felt too much banana flavoring. Honestly, next time I will try other lattes. The server is nice. She was new and a bit flustered when I asked for a banana hot chocolate. I am okay with being patient with her as she gets my order since I know what it is like to be new at the counter. Overall, this spot is okay but I think I would try other lattes or pastries. I am hoping it is not too sweet. After drinking that banana hot chocolate, I felt like my teeth would fall out. read more

I feel the service or understanding of orders have been lacking. Yesterday we came here and I asked for a Banana Hot Cocoa. But what we got was a regular hot cocoa. I was upset as this is my main reason for going to cocola. The gentleman at the counter repeated the order so I was satisfied but after drinking no banana flavor and cocoa was watered down. Maybe it's just a miss today. read more

I ordered 3 mini cakes for pickup a few days ago and everything went smoothly. They don't put glue or anything sticky at the bottom so all the desserts shifted around slightly as I was walking back but it wasn't too bad. My caramel chocolate mousse didn't really come with any roasted cocoa nibs on top - maybe they ran out? All of the flavors were spot on and accurate to what's listed on the website - they were all delicious! read more

I visited this place for tea and several desserts. While the desserts were delicious, the service and pricing left a lot to be desired. I asked for some extra hot water for my tea, but it was served in a very tiny cup. When I requested more, I was told there would be an extra charge. The real issue was the inconsistency: first, I was told it would be $1, then later told it would be more than $1. Having the price change within the same visit felt unprofessional and confusing. Although I ended up ordering an entirely new cup of tea, the lack of clear pricing and the stingy approach to hot water ruined the experience. It's a shame because the food is good, but I'm not sure if I'll be back given the poor service. read more

Great desserts and very fast service. The staff is always friendly and they have delicious macaroons and lates.

I went to Cocola Bakery on Thursday night. The visit started casually, staff greeted me and I smiled back, but it honestly seemed like they were forced to be there. As someone who has worked in customer service, I understand that can happen, but it shouldn't be taken out on customers. As I was looking around before ordering, a wave of people came in, and that's when the girl helping me got an attitude towards me for no reason. It made the experience unpleasant. The pastries were good, though slightly overpriced as others have mentioned, but I would reconsider the atmosphere and level of hospitality. read more

Everything here is amazing. We walked in and were immediately greeted and asked if we'd like anything from the pastry case. They had so much we took a while, but they were very patient with us. I ordered the eye of the tiger and then a banana mocha to go along with it. After ordering, even though it was a little bit chilly and early in the morning, we enjoyed the outdoor . I loved the pastry it was like a soft sponge almond cake with a delicious chocolate center. The banana mocha was also delicious. She could taste the bananas and the chocolate and the coffee, which I appreciate when you could taste all the flavors in a coffee drink. read more

I've been to Cocola several times and always enjoy the pastries and coffee. I have tried different flavored croissants, all of which were delicious! The pistachio croissant is my favorite! The coffee is such good quality, my favorite being the Mocha Bianca. There is an abundance of cake slices and whole cake options as well. The options are so well designed with lots of detail in every slice. There is outdoor seating behind the bakery and staff are extremely friendly. I really enjoy stopping by Cocola in the mornings and highly recommend checking then out! read more

If you're in Santana Row and looking for something sweet after dinner, this is a great place! My dad has been buying me the chocolate muffins from here ever since I was a toddler. The ham and cheese sandwich is also super good for lunch or a quick snack! Came here Saturday night after having dinner at yard house and got a few desserts! The passion fruit cake was so tasty and refreshing. Definitely had great flavor. The chocolate mouse was also really good and loved the different layers / types of chocolate in it. The hot cocoa was also super cute!! They made adorable designs in them!! Love this place and will continue to frequent here. The service is decent and love how late it stays open! read more

This is a cute looking bakery in Santana Row, next to Straits Restaurant. They have some savory options I didn't try. They mostly have pastries out. We came to this spot after dinner because it is open until 11 pm (and until 12 am on fridays and saturdays!) which is a big pro when so much closes early nowadays. - I had their take on a pumpkin pie, which included a vanilla bean ganache layer on top as well as a chocolate crust. It wasn't bad by any means but I feel like it wasn't anything special, especially for the prices of these desserts. The crust was especially firm and could have been softer. I feel like it could be because we got our desserts near closing time and they'd been out all day. the pumpkin part of the pie also lacked some flavor- i feel like Costco's pumpkin pie has a little more flavor than this. the vanilla ganache layer was delicious though. - my mother had a mango dessert which i tried- it was better. Service: Our items didn't need to be prepared, so they came fast. Nice staff. Ambiance: Nice setup, clear view of pastries, seating was a bit crowded but Santana Row always has crowds- so this wasn't really a detractor for me. I definitely want to try a different pastry from here someday, but overall, I feel like the pastries here aren't super special. If i was to come here again, I would come earlier to see if the quality is better. read more

We ordered the caramel chocolate mousse cake and it was delicious! The caramel is tasted in every bite and has a good balance with the chocolate mousse and breading as the bottom layer. Very disappointing experience at Cocola Bakery Cafe S. I bought the same hazelnut dessert I always order, but this time it tasted absolutely horrible. The hazelnuts clearly tasted spoiled or old, with a disgusting stale flavor that ruined the entire dessert. Honestly shocking that something like this was being sold to customers. Quality control and freshness standards seriously need attention. read more

I've been to this bakery twice, and both times the experience was so shockingly bad that I feel obligated to finally speak up. The manager here ( wearing glasses) is consistently rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. She has twice forced my group to get up and move from a table that we had every right to sit at. We were not blocking anything, not causing trouble, and the table was placed there by the bakery. If customers aren't allowed to sit there, then don't put a table there. Instead of addressing us politely, she yelled at us in front of everyone, saying "your group needs to move, you're blocking the way," when we absolutely were not. The tone she used was hostile and unnecessary. What makes this even worse is that this is not the first time she has treated us like this. A couple months ago, she did the exact same thing to my mom, who is handicapped. She made her move from the same spot--yet the group before us sat there without any issue. The double standard is impossible to ignore, and honestly it felt discriminatory. I never left a review back then because I hoped it was just a bad day. But today, coming back with a group of friends, she behaved the exact same way again. Same attitude, same rudeness, same disrespect. Clearly, this is how she chooses to treat customers. No business should allow a manager to speak to people like this. It's rude, it's unwelcoming, and it shows zero regard for customer service. After being treated this way multiple times, I can confidently say that we will not be returning--and I hope future customers are aware of how poorly people can be treated here. read more

Very nice and sweet place in the heart of Santana Row! It was my first time discovering this place. The first thing I've noticed is the facade as it's a French designed cafe. When I came there was no line, but 10 minutes later it got very busy. The staff was friendly and super fast. I had cappuccino and 3 layer chocolate mousse together with cheesecake passion. It was delicious! As a chocolate lover I loved chocolate mousse better - not too sweet, and the texture is soft. You can sit inside (the siting places are limited though) or find a table outside and enjoy the busy street with people passing by. The design is very European. I love tables and chairs - very authentic! Overall it's a bit pricey, but together with delicious desserts and good coffee you get the unique experience and it's worth the price. ! They accept different kinds of payment except amex. read more

After hours past 10pm on a Friday is hard to find a decent place for a coffee and dessert. We were close by proximity in Santa Clara and saw that this location was open till 12am. Santana Row is a large place but were able to park by Olin and walk to this location. It was open and had a few tables available. We had ordered a few pastries and a few Coffees at the Coffee bar. My Lemon Tart was the perfect balance of tartness and not too sweet. My Almond milk latte was also at a perfect temperature. The people were super friendly and helpful. We wound up getting a few desserts to go and a Ham and Cheese croissant. We actually had the HC croissant the next day and it was still flakey and very good. It was a perfect place to end the evening with a little sweet and not too potent coffee evening night cap. read more

After years of going to the row I finally stopped to by pastries to take home. I chose the strawberry croissant, elephant ears, and a lemon scone. The lemon scone was way too crumbly and fell apart which I think means had too much butter. It also had an artificial aftertaste. Husband had the strawberry croissant and he said he never had anything like it. It had a strawberry filling woven in and inside the croissant, but it wasn't a lot and was only in the center. The elephant ear was huge, larger than a traditional palmier or a Mexican pan dulce 'oreja'. The layers of phyllo were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I didn't try the coffee but as the only pastry shop on the row, I see why it is popular. Are they the best? No, but location is everything when a sugar craving hits! read more
