Their ice cream is exceptionally creamy and rich, with a generous filling that melts in your mouth, making it incredibly delicious. The breading or fish is notably tender and crispy, offering a perfect contrast in texture. The ordering process is mostly automated, but the staff remains genuinely friendly and efficient, ensuring quick service. The venue is quite small, creating an intimate atmosphere. They also offer a variety of refreshing, well-crafted drinks, and a selection of tasty toppings to customize your order further.

I was unfortunately a bit disappointed in our experience at Somisomi. We got two taiyaki, one custard and one black sesame. The black sesame was okay, but the custard one was way too sweet, and did not taste authentic. The texture of the outside was also quite gummy, almost like mochi, which did not fit the flavor profile. Maybe I came at an off day, but based on that experience I would not return.

Located inside Valley Fair, near Ramen Nagi, Uncle Tetsu, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema area. This spot have always been my go-to since they first open for whenever I craving for a good soft serve. The rotate flavors from time to time, so make sure to check their official Instagram to see which location offer which flavors, my all time favorite is their Milk and Cookies n' Cream. Somisomi's soft serve is creamy and quite strong on milky taste. Their taiyaki (fish shaped waffle) is also very good, it does have a good crunchy texture on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, with the perfect amount of sweetness and nice fragrant smell. So, I do recommend their Ahboong or Upside Down Ahboong for first timer, you cannot goes wrong with their Custard or Nutella filling. But this time, they released a brand new taiyaki's flavor: Dubai Chocolate and it was so good that I came back twice in the same weekend. This flavor was more expensive, I got 2 for almost $10 meanwhile 2 regular taiyakis was for $4.95 but it was worth it in my opinion. My taiyaki came out piping hot, the curnchy kataifi added so much texture to each bite and I was really happy to finish my taiyaki in one sitting. I thought I have to wait for long but there was no one in line during my visit at 6:30PM on a Friday night (shocking), staffs were attentive and quick with making my order, the taiyaki was ready in about 5-7 minutes. I think I will be a regular here if Somisomi will keep Dubai Choco Taiyaki on their permanent menu lol, finger crossed!!

The sakura berry continues to hit regardless of which somi somi i go to. It was pretty empty on a tuesday, which is to be expected but the flavor is consistent and I love it. I got the fish with a black sesame filling and it was such a nice combo with the ice cream

We hot some icecream and taiyaki because my friend really wanted to try them out. The server was not very friendly and seemed annoyed. Took a while for our orders when there wasn't anyone before us. The ice cream was fine, taiyaki was good. Of all Somisomi locations I think this was the worst. Hoping for better service next time.

We love SomiSomi! The matcha flavor with Nutella filling is such a good sweet treat. It's the perfect size when you want something dessert-like but not too much.

Service was super quick, location is convenient, and the dessert is delicious. I ordered nutella inside the waffle, with matcha and ube swirl ice cream and fruity pebbles on top. The ice cream flavor tastes and looks genuine, unlike other ice creams that have fake dye and flavoring. The nutella-filled waffle was the best part; I love how the waffle is thin and crisp.

Somisomi is a local chain that sells fish-shaped pastries that you can buy with a filling of your choice (Nutella, custard, sweet bean, among others) along with soft serve ice cream. On a recent visit, my husband got ube soft serve and I got strawberry soft serve. We each got a pastry topping filled with Nutella. They were delicious!

Taiyakis were excellent and had great crispy outsides, while maintaining a chewy interior. The newer black sesame flavor was so good! Next time I'll need a couple of those. I also enjoyed the usuals like custard and red bean. They were filled pretty well. The soft serve was nice and creamy, as well as flavorful too. Not sure if eating it in the mall made a difference but I've always found somi somi soft serve to be a bit more mellow and lacking in flavor (good creamy texture but weak in taste) but on this try I had the strawberry and could taste it loud and clear! It was very delicious and smooth. Creamy and flavorful! Very strawberry-y. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted. Very nice.

Got two taiyakis and was pleasantly surprised they had some fun flavors - hotteok (a brown sugar cinnamon nut mixture) and a black sesame one. They were made fresh and well cooked on the inside. My only wish was their filling was more generous but alas! The hotteok is a seasonal flavor and I really hope it becomes a staple because it's better than the custard / red bean flavor (also classics).

Service was good and friendly. The review is for the ice cream. Taste more like vanilla, very light but taste at best.

Somisomi always hits the spot! I got an upside down ahboong. I got the cookies and cream and matcha swirl with Nutella as my filling and Oreo crumbs as the topping. All the flavors together worked so well and it wasn't too sweet at all. I felt so bad since there was only one worker at the time, but she handled the line like a boss! Love love love!

It feels just like a warm hug in a bowl! Their cold noodles, both spicy and non-spicy versions, are refreshing and perfect for cooling down summer heat. We also almost always order the mo deum soo yook for extra protein. It's a combination plate with boiled beef brisket, tail, and tendons. You will have to season them yourself with salt and pepper, but beef is always so soft and tender. I highly recommend ordering this only if you're dining with a group of 3 or more because the portion is huge! After finishing your meal, they'll serve you a yakult, super yummy and great for digestion (super thoughtful of them) They're busy and almost always have a waitlist, especially during peak dinner hours. From my experience, the longest I've waited was about 45 minutes, but normally it's only around 20-30 minutes. There's a boba shop nearby where you can grab a drink while waiting. Overall, I have nothing to complain about with this place. Try it once and you'll understand why everyone loves it!

The star of the show was definitely the meat. After trying nearly every Korean BBQ spot in Santa Clara, I can confidently say Chungdam has the best quality in the area. The difference in flavor and texture of the beef is immediately noticeable. It was tender, well-marbled, and full of rich taste. The banchan were outstanding too, especially the raw crab (my absolute favorite). We also loved the steamed egg, japchae, and bibimbap which were all delicious and perfectly executed. Our server, Bryan, took excellent care of us on our first visit and made the whole experience even better. He even told us about a back room that you can reserve for special occasions or even for hosting after work gatherings or dinners with friends We'll definitely be back soon! Service was good. food was delicious! the bulgogi was generous portions given the $$. The kal bi was delicious. We got the lettuce wrap (aka leaves) glad we got it because it made it feel healthier. banchan: came with: square little rice paper wraps (not as healthy as lettuce but something), kim chee, sprouts, marinated onions with peppers (spicy! but I'm a wimp, any spice is too much for me), jap chae I didn't like the self-order on tablet. (at least it wasn't order off phone, I really hate that) at other restaurants if you order enough, they "service you" free steamed egg. Here I had to buy it myself. negative, there was a dripping pipe on the floor, and we had to point it out for them to wipe it, but then it dripped more. was that water? or grease? who knows. we had to suggest they put a towel so I didn't have to stare at it creeping towards me all night. fun korean pop music in background. cheaper feeling ambiance. definitely coming again for the food and minimal line. didn't like that tip defaulted to 20% minimum (then 23%, 28%) but at least they calculate that pre-tax.

A water carafe was brought out right after for us. The restaurant is pretty big, airy and clean. There were tables and booths to be seated at and the tables can easily be arranged to accomodate a large group. We ordered the following for 3 people: 1. Seafood pancake: Different batter than other Korean restaurant. Nice crisp and lots of seafood. Accompanied by a soy sauce but I did not dip it as I like to taste the seafood and not overwhelm my taste buds with sauces on the pancakes. 2. Mul naengmyeon (cold noodles): my first try at this and I enjoyed it. Different from what I am used for noodle soup to but its's very good. Savory but light. Lots of noodles were given and not enough protein. I like the slushy icy broth texture. I think it may be the broth itself frozen as by the time we finish eating, it still maintained a savory broth and not water down. Three people shared this and we couldn't finish the noodles itself. 3. Soy sauce marinade crab: This was a pricy dish for 1 crab accompanied by a fancy dish of rice with some fresh and dried seaweed, tobiko and thinly sliced pickled radish. Well prepared as I did not taste or smell the ocean. Flavorful and good though I prefer eating the spicy marinade crab better as I love spices. We did not try the spicy crab here as a friend do not eat spicy. The dishes were all big. We finished the marinade crab but still had some cold noodles and pancake left to go. Services was average as we had ordered a coke and it came out when we asked for it after the food had all come out. The bossam took a while to come out, and by then we were already pretty full off of the pancake, soup and bibimbap. Service sizes are generous, and this definitely would've been enough for 4+ people to share. There was a great assortment of different banchan - my favorite is the jelly! The pancake was nice and crispy, with a good amount of seafood, the bibimbap had a great amount of crispy rice at the bottom and the tofu soup was comforting and exactly what we were looking for. The bossam had a lot of meat - I kind of wished there was more radish and napa to go with the meat, but it was tender, not too fatty, and satisfying. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Jang su jang is still a classic staple, and has a delicious offering for almost any korean craving you could want. We were still hungry so we then ordered combo #4 and asked to replace the fish cake soup for more fries; our server originally denied the request but came back and said he'd do it this one time. I highly recommend ordering the combos here over ala carte! All the food came out piping hot and fresh. It was the perfect bar food; just really expensive for the quality of what you're eating. The place had ambient purple lighting inside, kpop & korean street food videos displaying on the TVs, tons of korean idol posters, and music absolutely blasting overhead. I enjoyed the lively vibe, but will say the music got a bit too loud and my friends and I really had to raise our voice to speak to each other. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and would definitely come back!

Not only was this the worst Korean food I've had to date, but the service was a mess. I try my best…read moreto be understanding and I usually never leave negative reviews, but this one I had to share. We ordered a combo (contains three dishes) and not only did they forget two of the three items, but when we asked for the two items they only brought out the second one over an hour later. By the time we were done with our second item, we asked them to just not bring out the third item in our combo because it was clear they hadn't even begun to prepare it because they forgot again. Despite only receiving two of the three items in our combo over the span of our two hours, they still charged us the full $73 for the combo. Additionally, they kept bringing out the wrong items and also brought out things twice when we had already received it. Food overall was undeniably bad for how it was priced. The quality of the pork in the katsu was extremely tough and stringy, not to mention how it was absolutely drowned in sauce. Kimchi fried rice was wet, as it was drowned in sauce and oil, barely fried. Chicken wings were also drenched in oil and sauce, and it was soggy, rubbery, and overall terrible. In conclusion, don't waste your time or money here. This was my second time at this establishment, and both times were atrocious.
