This is an amazing place to satisfy your craving for Indian flavored ice cream . You can get all exotic flavors like Meetha pan , Gulab jamun , beetroot halwa , flooda kulfi , malai kulfi ( all these are my favorites ) to the regular flavors like coffee, chocolate etc . You can also get the fruit flavored ice creams like custard apple , lychee etc . They also serve different types of shakes . Service is fast however if you are going there little late in night ( say around 9 pm ) , be prepared to stand in queue. Apparently there are lot of customers coming there around that time to satisfy there sugar cravings. I have ordered recently ice cream cakes from there on my birthday and I loved it so much that I went after 2 days and again got a cake from their store front .... And I am planning to go again , lol .... 8 inch cakes are $40 which I find extremely reasonable owing to the awesome flavors . In my picture , the one with peach border is falooda and malai kulfi flavor and the other one with my name written is Gulab Jamun and malai kulfi flavor . I highly recommend this place read more

Butterscotch has always been my favorite ice cream flavor in India, and for years I could never find anything in the U.S. that came close, that is until I tried Nirvanaah. Their butterscotch actually reminded me of the ice cream back home: creamy, flavorful, and with that signature butterscotch crunch. I loved it! Unfortunately, over the years I've noticed the quality really decline. The butterscotch flavor now tastes more like the versions I've tried elsewhere in the U.S., almost like vanilla ice cream with a few drops of butterscotch flavoring added. That rich taste and, most importantly, the crunch that made it so good are basically gone. I really hope Nirvanaah brings back the original recipe and quality. It used to be one of the few places where I could get butterscotch ice cream that genuinely tasted like the kind I grew up loving in India. read more

I came here with my family in search of falooda. Based on what I read, the falooda kulfi is popular here, so I decided to give that a try. The falooda kulfi was pretty good. It was basically their falooda ice cream with some kulfi pieces mixed with some milk (not sure if it's regular milk vs evaporated milk). As the falooda ice cream mixed with the milk and kulfi pieces, it satisfied my falooda craving. The falooda ice cream had basil seeds and thin noodles mixed in a rose ice cream base. I only found the dessert to be a bit on the sweeter side, maybe because of the kulfi. The store had no other customers when we were there. The cashier let us take our time to decide what we wanted. Some staff were busy loading cups and other utensils (probably some new orders that came in). They have mostly indoor seating with two tables outside. The tables had a lot of clean napkins here and there. The seats look like they could use a wash due to stains. When we threw away our ice cream cups, the trash can was super sticky. Parking is in a shared lot with other stores and wasn't difficult for us. There were definitely cars coming and going. The ice cream shop is towards one corner of the strip mall. read more

Went there to enjoy some ice creams. The decor showed all kinds of fancy options on the walls. But the server was not interested. Probably overworked and alone. Still got Alphonso mango which tasted like there was coconut added to it. Also got the sitaphal and it had very less Sitaphal pieces. We also got cookies and cream and that was okay regular types. Nothing special and sadly the bill was $22 for three smallest scoops. No pictures taken here. read more

Incredible Indian ice-cream flavors Nirvanaah in Sunnyvale is hands down my favorite spot for authentic Indian ice cream. Every flavor I've tried has been fantastic, rich, creamy, and true to taste. So far, I've had the lychee, thandai, anjeer and walnut, malai, kesar pista, and paan, and each one was delicious in its own way. The paan, malaai, and thandai especially brought back so many memories. The staff is friendly and patient about offering samples so you can find your favorite, and service is always quick. It's the perfect place to stop by after dinner or anytime you're craving something unique and nostalgic. Ambiance is simple but there isn't enough sitting for bigger parties. Highly recommend if you're looking for Indian-style ice cream done right. I can't wait to go back and try more. read more

Classic taste since years! Meetha paan here is popular and a must try. Parking and seating is appropriate. I liked their service too. I'd suggest the restaurant to update the flavor name stickers. They've worn out and quite old - killing some of the good vibe. read more

Food: first time having Indian inspired ice cream flavors. There was a large variety and unique flavors. Some flavors were missed for me, but I enjoyed the experience of trying them out all the same Service: staff was helpful in letting my group try various flavors and didn't rush us to choose. She was patient with answering questions as well Ambiance: spacious and plenty of seating. However, the cushioned stools we sat on definitely looked like it needed a washing. I came here 9 months pregnant with some major kulfi cravings. Service wasn't particularly nice or helpful, would have loved to sample a couple flavors but didn't get the sense that was an option. I ended up getting the falooda kulfi which was ok, but pretty steeply priced in my opinion. Would maybe try somewhere else next time. read more

Don't go here! Ice cream temp was completely wrong - imagine you've taken the ice cream out of the freezer and kept it on the counter for half an hour. Then you've had a scoop. This is how all the samples tasted. Service - the guy simply doesn't want to work here. He's slamming the freezer doors and the least bit interested. Then there the cross contamination. My strawberry ice cream had portions of mango and mint choc chip in it. Terrible experience. And it wasn't even busy... read more

This place was packed when we got here right before they closed. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors and you can order an ice cream cake for special occasions. They let you sample only two flavors per person. My personal favorite was their rose flavored ice cream. The place was clean, too. There's not much seating so plan on enjoying your ice cream while standing and mingling with others. They also have a lot of cheesy quotes ;) so if you're looking for that, they got you covered. read more

I am a hugee fan of this ice cream place. My favorite flavors are Meetha pan, butterscotch and falooda kulfi. They have a variety of flavors like gulab jamun, gajar halwa, sitaphal, Rajbhog, etc. The kesar pista and malai kulfi are good too! There are non Indian flavors too like Belgian biscuit, Ferrero rocher. They let you taste a sample of the flavor before ordering. read more

Nirvanaah is conveniently located next to Cash & Carry (an Indian grocery store), so it's a great option for anyone after their shopping trip. I've tried their Ferrero Rocher, Falooda, and Rose flavors, and they were not extraordinary. For the ice cream flavors itself, I'd probably give them a 3.5/5 - they have a wide variety but their flavors are not extremely special. The service is okay, nothing outstanding but nothing abysmal either. Personally, I'm not a fan of their interior, but you're there for ice cream so it doesn't matter too much. read more

Great place to get ice cream with Indian flavors or falooda type drinks. What we tried : 1. Badshahi falooda drink 10/10 It has rose syrup in the bottom with chia seeds and falooda sevaiya, topped with rose flavored ice cream milk shake and a scoop of cardamom-pistachio ice cream. This tasted close to falooda in India. 2. Tender coconut- scoop 3/10 The coconut pieces were sparse and the ice cream otherwise tasted like plain vanilla ice cream with no flavor. read more

I went in today on a tuesday ~7:45pm (4/9/24) and it wasn't busy so found that a plus because when I pass by it sometimes i'd always see a crowd of people outside the place. Cute and homey ambiance with colorful walls. Upon entering i was greeted with two people (a man and a women) who seemed very nice and patient waiting for me to take my order since i was looking at the selection and on their yelp. I eventually asked about one of the flavors to which the man asked if I'd like a sample and i got to try some flavors i was interested in. There was so much to choose from and some that i've never heard of (wanted to do more research on them and maybe come back another time) but i ended up choosing the alphonso mango as I LOVE alfonso mango for their sweet and creamy (In my experience never sour) flavor, and the falooda kulfi (bc it was one of the highlighted flavors in the reviews alongside guava (but they didnt have it so i chose mango) for a double scoop. The Alphonso mango was perfect, it was not tart at all, they also did not skimp on the mango so it wasn't just a hint of mango and mainly milk, it was wasn't too mango-ey too, it was just creamy and good. Definitely recommend for Mango lovers :) The falooda was a different experience for me as ive never had actual falooda before and didn't do much research except it was a good falooda flavor from reviews. I tasted a mix of spices (maybe saffron, but not too strong- more subtle, some bits of a type of nut that was also mixed (texture)) and definitely a lingering hint of rose, which i ended up finding out that falooda does sometimes have rose syrup). It was definitely a treat, not up my alley but I'm glad to experience how it tastes in essence and it's probably more acquired since they have so many flavors reminiscent of desserts such as gulab jamun (which i love) so i'm excited to try more of their flavors in the near future. The double scoop was 8.99 but I believe the lady told me cash was 50 cent discount) but i didnt realize until after she gave me a 1.01 back (I didnt pay attention so it could be the tax or she may have forgotten and i was enamored by my two scoops of ice cream lol) read more

This is a great spot for Indian ice creams and the rajbhog flavor is my absolute favorite! They don't allow tasting and that's understandable. I asked for three scoops- alphonso mango, rajbhog and another one but they were layered on top of each other and that was a bummer. The royal falooda drink they said could be made from any 1 of the 2 select ice cream flavors only and that was a bit odd but the flavors were there. The rose syrup came through the drink and was tasty. The ladies at the counter did their best for a que of ice cream craving customers. They have a masked entry sign on the door but there were a few people inside without their masks on. It was a good first visit and I'll be back for more flavors! read more

A good variety of exotic ice cream flavors from guava to sitapahl. They even have Indian dessert flavored ice cream like gulab jamun. I always get the sitapahl which is in the same family as cherimoya. It's like having an ice cream flavored with apple but without the tartiness. Mildly sweet. The guava flavor has full guava flavor including the gritty texture. It's distinctly unapologetically guava which I appreciate. You can taste the guava right away. The mango pomegranate ice cream tasted more mango than pomegranate. This has a smoother texture just like mango and pomegranate. I noticed that the texture of some of the ice cream flavor is not very smooth but I think because it's consistent to the actual food it's modeled after. It's on a pricier side but they have unique flavors with taste true to each type it represents. read more

Good ice cream, poor customer service. My family visited this shop when it first opened up and I remember loving my visit because of the unique Indian flavors. It's been a few years since and I wanted to revisit a childhood favorite only to be disappointed. First, we could not sample any of the flavors? For a shop with unique flavors such as meetha paan, thandai, kesar pista, or sitaphal -- how do I know what to expect?Second, the serving size for a small is REALLY small and given in a small plastic cup. Lastly, there was maybe 2-3 customers at night and yet we felt rushed. Wasn't the most welcoming environment. The ice cream was good, but in my opinion not worth it. It's not really a spot to hangout with friends, moreso grab&go. read more

Personal recommendations include the Shaahi Falooda and Kulfi Falooda, both of which are large enough to be shared by 2 people. They also have a huge selection of ice-cream flavors including Butterscotch amongst others. As a call-out, they don't offer any seating for large and small groups and this is more of a order-and-pickup place. They also prefer cash payments for when the total charges are lower than 10$. read more

I've tried Falooda from here a couple of times. They have it as a drink/milkshake and as an ice-cream or kulfi version. Both are equally good, although I personally prefer the milkshake version. We love their ice creams and we are regulars here but lately service has deteriorated. Either you are rushed or made to wait in line forever. We like the service, ambience and experience of Pints of Joy more! Highly recommend going there instead of here if you care about a good experience for unique Indian ice cream flavors , this place is best for quick pick up and go. However, they do offer drinks which the other place does not, however, I can see Nirvanaah losing customers due to the poor service. They need more people to help out during busy times, holidays and weekends. Today on memorial day afternoon they had only one lady behind the counter and we had to wait 30 mins as she was overwhelmed and busy preparing a bulk restaurant order of 15 drinks while all customers waited in line. The people who were waiting to collect their bulk order ( 2 waiters from Puranpoli restaurant) complained that despite ordering ahead by phone and calling 30 mins ahead , they were still made to wait 30 mins. We were 5 of us in line and after waiting for 25 mins we were actually considering walking out without getting anything and going elsewhere. You need to train your people on how to handle bulk orders while customers are waiting and there is only one person handling it all - making sure to take and prepare orders for those in line in between preparing bulk order drinks instead of solely focusing on preparing 15 drinks while making everyone else in line wait forever. read more

I really like this place for their Indian ice cream flavors like Rajbhog, chickoo, kesar pista, thandai, Falooda, etc. I have tried their chickoo, guava, lichee, Halwasan and they are just great. I feel if you are looking for your best worth for money you should order a shake! This is one of my favorite ice cream shops when I'm craving Indian flavors that you can't really find in the US (e.g. sitaphal or chickoo). Before Covid, they used to have inside seating (ice cream parlor style, with barstools), but now you have to eat your sweet treat outside. The only downside is that this location is in a strip mall, so there's no good place to really sit and enjoy the ice cream. read more

After a day hiking in the sun, what's better than ice cream to reward yourself for calories burned. I had the rose petal ice cream and it was delicious. I love that they make all of their flavors- there is an obvious difference between homemade and factory made ice cream. The ice cream wasn't too sweet like a lot of rose I've creams are. It had rose petals in the ice cream as well which I liked a lot. The parking lot is a little challenging. There is a very busy grocery store in the same lot. Used to come here just for Falooda drink with kulfi substitute (paying the difference) as rest of their ice cream is meh. Since the new moustached guy has taken over, he has made a point to ban substitution even if you're willing to pay the difference. Other employers accommodate unless this guy is around. Going to give Egglicous a try as there's no point giving money to a business that doesn't care for long term customers because of whim of one person. Edit: Another bad experience. My friend brought me here to try their Badshahi Falooda and I'm so glad she did! It was so delicious and creamy. It reminded me of Iranian Faloodeh, except sweeter and more like a milkshake. This review is based on my first time going here a few weeks back. This place is open later than other dessert establishments in the area, so you can expect a long line even in a weekday evening. Be careful pulling in by the opening closest to the spot. It can get tight but there is plenty of parking. When I went, there were no chairs, so I got the vibe that after you get your ice cream, you just get out. There were various people just eating outside, sitting/standing by the curb. I love guava, so when I saw they had that flavor, I ordered it. It was more of a creamy/milky guava ice cream rather than a water based ice cream. It smelled good but the creaminess overpowered thr guava flavor in taste for me. They do charge a fee if you use credit card (I forgot if there is always a charge or only under a certain threshold). Due to the rush and my lack of paying attention, I didnt get to inquire exactly which 'custom item' was the extra fee and what the other charge was .. maybe for a cone-- I looked back at my receipt later on and felt that with what my total came out to be, I am not sure if it was worth it. But it is officially summer and Im sure I will be wanting ice cream again, so I will definitely return to see if I feel the same way. read more

I was hankering for some ice cream while in the area this weekend and Nirvanaah came up nearby in my app so I decided to drop in and give it a try. The staff weren't very friendly, no real explanation, they didn't even get up out of their chairs until I ordered. They sat there looking at me until I told them what I wanted. I went for their banana split and tried it with the black currant, raspberry and mango pomegranate ice cream. The actual ice cream was delicious and with unique flavors like black currant I'm a fan. I really enjoyed that I just wish the staff was a little friendlier instead of barely making eye contact and asking quick curt questions while building my dessert for me. I'd recommend stopping in to try it, it is delicious just don't expect warm, friendly customer service. read more

I wanted to take my wife here for her first Indian flavored ice cream but our experience did not go as planned. First off, what happened? It's been a long time since I've been back but coming here now, is slightly depressing. No music, no chairs, the ice cream section is foggy; I can't even see, no customers, nothing. My wife was really excited to try out the many unique Indian flavors but we were denied from sampling. How could a new customer with no knowledge of Indian ice cream even try a taste?? It's her first time and the lady told us they don't give samples. This is not good for business. A new person that wants to try a flavor should be able to sample just like at any other ice cream spot. Are they trying to save money here by not giving samples?? I mean, I even saw a cup stating, "Clean Spoons"... can't they just scoop a tiny bit for samples?? We didn't even purchase anything due to the fact that we couldn't taste anything so how would we know?? Also, there were no signs saying, there were no samples. The lady didn't even give an explanation as to why we couldn't try anything. The last time I came here, they gave out samples to everyone which was a great experience. What a turn off!! Never coming back again. How dumb, they just lost Two customers and business on top of that. Pathetic. read more
