A good variety of flavors. Good overall vibe, especially at night (I like to go with friends, get the items, and head out to the parking lot, which is quite empty by then). Cons: The actual taste of the ice cream was quite average in my opinion. But given the price point and the popularity, I won't hammer too much on this. Good ice creams with traditional Indian flavors, high prices and awful customer service. On the whole, not an experience worth repeating. One of the two ladies at the counter ( did not catch her name) is incredibly rude, with not the best attitude. She snappily replied to queries we had about the ice creams, which I think was completely uncalled for. I called once too with a question and was again greeted by curt replies. Love this ice cream joint (they also have a location in Fremont) and come here for regular late night ice cream runs as they are open til 10.30PM and have some of the best ice cream. Can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet... They have a variety of Indian ice cream flavors like Malai, rose (falooda), and many more that I can't remember as well as various typical American flavors. You may still try a flavor when you get here (despite covid). They also sell punts to go and ice cream cakes. It has bits of kulfi, vermicelli, rose syrup, basil seeds, all over your choice of ice cream. I realize that not everybody is okay with simply sticking something they're at least PRETTY SURE is edible into their mouths and eating it without actually knowing what it is. But if you were ever going to have one of these "fuck it, it looks delicious, let's do this" moments, Nirvanaah is a good place to be. Uh, safe to say, I'm not that actually familiar with Indian flavors. I'm THAT person that orders something, then eats it, has someone ask "ooohh, what's that?", and my answer being "I have NO IDEA". Questions and poking around about what exactly the food is comes after eating, as it should. So yes, I'm THAT garbage disposal of a friend. This is especially relevant because most Indian places I go to tend to be with friends who are much more knowledgeable than me. They order for me and I eat it and enjoy. And THIS is especially true in Nirvanaah. Friend bought us here for dessert after dinner at Chaat Bhavan, which (for the record) is an easy walking distance just down the El Camino Real. I got the Ferrero Rocher ice cream, but five others had also gotten some ice cream so there was plenty to sampling going on. Truthfully, I don't even know half of what I sampled was (and I forgot to take the usual notes), except that the others got the more unique flavors. But I'm pretty sure one was a mango ice cream of some sort and everything tasted quite good. It's a EXCELLENT variety of MANY TASTY ICE CREAM FLAVORS, from both very familiar ones you'd find in any grocery store to distinctly more Indian dessert and spices flavors. One the big things thing I noticed was definitely that, depending on the flavor, some of the ice cream flavors were more sweetly fragrant as opposed to sugary sweet. So for those who don't have as much of a sweet tooth, this is an excellent place to try. And if nothing else, it's a good place to try something new. Everything I tasted was DELICIOUS. And they do let you sample first. And if you find you really like a flavor, they have sell the pints from the fridge that's on the back wall. Also, note, there is no bathroom and the employees were in the backroom more than not? They were behind the counter when we first came in, and after we all had our food, they were kind of gone. It's very awkward standing by near the door to the backroom and hoping someone would come out so that I can ask if they had a restroom in the first place. But yes, it's probably safer to get everything you and your party wants in the first go. The actual store is pretty spacious. There are no tables, but a LOT of bar space and my group made do by just pulling all the stools together. So all and all, it wasn't a bad place to hang out. Their aesthetics were very bright and cheerful, and pretty good foot traffic for a weekday. Finally I promised the friend who brought us that I'd put their two cents. She said that she actually wasn't that happy, that they used to be better, and that she and was of the opinion that they had gone a bit down hill. I had fun despite the fact there really wasn't a restroom available. And I'll be honest, the feel I get from this place is much like the Golden Gate Bakery in San Francisco. It doesn't actually matter WHAT my opinion is, Nirvanaah has unique flavors you won't easily find anywhere else and a solid following that are regularly in the area (what with the market a few doors down and the local restaurants peppered nearby) that'll keep coming here. We went to have ice cream at this place tonight and there were 2 Indian ladies at the counter. They had no courtesy, no greetings and when we got the order, my wife started eating the ice cream and one of those ladies rudely said don't eat here and turned a hand written sign towards us which was originally facing towards the cashier. My wife was super polite and said sorry tough it wasn't her mistake and walked out. I had to wait for my order and there were others ordering so didn't want to create a scene. I requested them to post the sign property. We are responsible citizens and respect all the measures businesses are taking for coivd. My friend (vaccinated) had bought a kulfi and got a little excited to taste it, so he pulled down his mask to taste his yummy kulfi. The lady behind the counter SCREAMS... (When i say scream- literally every customer stopped and stared ) at him to not take of his mask inside super disrespectfully. My friend left the establishment, my dad then pointed out that this rule is not posted anywhere so he was unaware, she pointed to a sign (which was facing the cash register and away from the line of customers) .. My dad then pointed out that there is no point in having a sign if no one can read it. She gave a flimsy excuse that people kept moving it. While I understand she has to keep rules in place, maybe learn to communicate and kindly ask the customer to enjoy their kulfi outside instead of screaming at them. You are EARNING their business- you are not ENTITLED to it. If you love being disrespected then come here, however Im sure in this day and age you can find way better kulfi where some angry middle aged Indian lady isn't gonna act like a complete barbarian to you. read more

The flavors and texture of the ice cream here are fantastic. The Raspberry is the best raspberry ice cream I've ever had, it's creamy vanilla with intense swirls of raspberry. I was surprised to see a line that went out the door at this ice cream shop around 915 pm on a Saturday night. They are clearly very popular among South Asians, since the shop was filled with folks! We were really excited to try some of the fresh Indian flavors, such as rose, cheese balls, and mango. They were out of the cheese balls one, but we liked the rose and mango enough when we sampled them that we got a double scoop. The flavors went very well together and was definitely unique. I loved that the rose ice cream had bits of The ice cream was perfectly soft and clearly very fresh as well. The ice cream gets five stars, but the operations of the shop gets 3 stars. Issues: there were only 2 staff working the entire shop, which meant that we spent about 15-20 minutes just waiting in a line that hardly budged. The place was also pretty filthy because the two trash cans were overfilled and there was definitely not enough seats for everyone, so people were standing both inside and outside eating their ice cream. When you walk in the first thing I saw on the counter is the sign that a mask is required at all times- there are no exceptions listed, so I think it actually means *all* times when inside.
